Henry's Universe Mode(Season 5): WrestleMania IV Pre-Show

I was going to put together an entire preview for this card, but Blogger freaked out and deleted all my work, which I have absolutely no desire to attempt to re-create. Instead, I'm just going to launch into the event itself and give you brief explanations of the build for matches as they happen. We're starting with the pre-show, consisting of two bouts from SmackDown and one from Raw. No need for a logo or a fancy intro or anything, it's a pre-show, no one needs pageantry. Let's go! Big E(c) vs Andrade "Cien" Almas vs Rusev vs Samoa Joe- Intercontinental Championship Match Rusev earned a title shot back at Fastlane, but in order to rid this contest of any New Day interference, had to team up with former IC Champion and ex-rival Andrade, plus the last challenger for the belt in Samoa Joe, to win a six man tag match and ensure Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods couldn't interfere. As you could expect, this match was pure carnage, with the crowd in MetLife Stadi

Henry's Universe Mode(Season 5): NXT Takeover: New York

Tonight, NXT presents two massive main events, representing the best the men and women of the brand have to offer. First, you have Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai, the only two champions for the women's division in NXT throughout Season 5, facing off one-on-one for the second time. They each present a unique and intense style, and could easily put together a Match of the Year contender. Then, going on last is the collision between teacher and pupil, a dangerous psychopath against an unrelenting force of nature, as Tommaso Ciampa defends the NXT Championship against Keith Lee. It's "Blackzilla" against "The Blackheart", as these two former allies decide the future of Wednesday nights. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and welcome to NXT's Season 5 finale.  Universe Mode NXT Takeover: New York April 4th, 2020 Grizzled Young Veterans vs Heavy Machinery vs The Street Profits This was an elimination triple threat tag team

Henry's Universe Mode(Season 5): NXT Takeover: New York Preview

The NXT brand gets it's final showcase here in Season 5, as they take over New York one week prior to WrestleMania IV.  NXT Takeover: New York Card Grizzled Young Veterans vs Heavy Machinery vs The Street Profits These three teams have all come up short in their pursuit of the NXT tag team titles, but all will have a chance for redemption in this triple threat match. Triple H has offered the winner a title shot, though an even bigger opportunity could be at stake, with rumors swirling that Raw and SmackDown have both sent representatives to scout this match as the Free Agency period will be opening following WrestleMania. All of these teams has a good chance to be the future of tag team wrestling, and they will get a massive spotlight to show the world what they are capable of.  Mandy Rose vs Sonya Deville The team of Fire and Desire both made their own impact back in January, with Rose failing in her challenge of Rhea Ripley, while Deville lasted to the final three of the Women

Henry's Universe Mode(Season 5): Elimination Chamber 2020

For nearly half a year, "The Fiend" has terrorized Monday nights. Through every challenge, this demonic alter-ego of Bray Wyatt has proved to be unstoppable, holding onto the Universal Championship with an iron grip. Tonight, Raw GM Paul Heyman intends to prepare one man to take his brand back. He will send six of the red brand's best inside the punishing and intimidating Elimination Chamber to do battle, with the hope that whomever survives will have picked up the skills necessary to finally take the champion out for good. That victor could be Heyman's own client, Brock Lesnar, who won the World Heavyweight Title twice and made his mark by laying out everyone else with an F-5. It could be Kevin Owens, who main evented WrestleMania last year as WWE Champion, or it could be the duplicitous Randy Orton, who held that belt twice as well. It could be Aleister Black, who lost the Universal Championship to "The Fiend" back at No Mercy, or it could be Roman Reigns,

Henry's Universe Mode(Season 5): Elimination Chamber 2020 Preview

I'm back to Henry's Universe Mode now, I've been trying some different things recently, from my Madden 12 series to AEW reviews to see what might stick, and thus far, nothing has. Let's see if this might. Today, I'm here to tell you about the card for Raw's final stop before WrestleMania IV.  Elimination Chamber 2020 Card Charlotte Flair(c) vs Alexa Bliss vs Becky Lynch vs Naomi vs Ronda Rousey vs Toni Storm- Raw Women's Championship Match After Ruby Riott controlled the Raw women's division for much of last year, Charlotte Flair took the strap away from the leader of the Riott Squad with some assistance provided by Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey, two former champions in their own right. In exchange, Flair went to Raw GM Paul Heyman to negotiate two spots in this Chamber match for Lynch and Rousey. The other three spots could've all been filled by the Riott Squad, but Ruby, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan all failed to qualify, losing out to Alexa Bliss, Na

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: AEW Double or Nothing 2019

The other day, I reviewed the Buy In , and now it's time to take a look at the main show of AEW's inaugural pay-per-view, Double or Nothing. As I mentioned in that post, I watched every episode of Being the Elite from the announcement of AEW's origin, plus the Road To videos produced by Cody Rhodes, and it was a pretty fun experience. I particularly recommend the Road To series if you want a good picture of the build to this show, none of them are over 10 minutes in length and all feature top of the line production value, plus detailed descriptions of some of the rules and stipulations for certain matches. The BTE episodes were more hit or miss for me, as though some of the skits, especially those involving MJF, were great, many felt like pure filler. I particularly hated everything to do with Joey Ryan, who is just a scumbag in general, but he also has no involvement in this show or AEW, so it's all pointless anyway. Because so much of the build to Double or Nothing w

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: AEW Double or Nothing 2019 (The Buy In)

Well, today is one I thought would come eventually, I just never expected what the circumstances might be. In honor of the late Brodie Lee and their handling of his passing, it's time to begin my reviews of All Elite Wrestling, and I'm launching full boar into this. Since last Thursday, I have watched every episode of Being the Elite since their announcement of the formation of AEW, plus every Road To Double or Nothing video, save for the final one, which is designed to be watched after you see the event. If you want my thoughts on that experience, you'll have to wait for tomorrow when I review the pay-per-view itself, but it's safe to say I know my sh**.  I'm starting today with the Buy In for Double or Nothing, basically AEW's version of a pre-show, although this could reasonably stand on it's own, there's plenty to watch besides just plugs to get you to buy the show. I don't know if Buy Ins for future AEW shows will be getting their own reviews, b

The Dog League: 2020 Recap

I'm sort of in a holding pattern right now, unsure of what I want to do next. I'm not having fun with my Madden 12 series, and I'm thinking of launching into AEW reviews but I'm not quite ready for that yet. In the meantime, I still wanted to get something up, so I thought now was a good time to fill folks in on what happened this past year in the Dog League. I wasn't sure if a full season was possible given all the COVID issues, so I decided to not post about to avoid starting something I knew I might not be able to finish, but luckily, our six teams were able to get through it. Let's take a look at what 2020 had to offer for all of them, starting from the bottom up.  Ridiculous Rascals Record: (4-10, lost 5th place game) Rascal started the year well, winning his first two games and looking like the best team in the league. Then, injuries overtook everything. He lost Christian McCaffrey, Julio Jones, Austin Ekeler, Raheem Mostert and Dak Prescott for a majorit

Blog Update- 2021 + My Thoughts on Pixar's "Soul"

It's been a long time since I've done a blog update, looks like the last one was posted at the end of September, but I thought it was appropriate with a new year dawning to let you in on where I plan to take this blog in 2021. Initially, this was intended to go up before the end of 2020, but I was busy and didn't feel like working, especially since I had put together such an extensive back catalog of my "Dynasty by the Bay" series to fill up December.  Let's start there with my most recent project. Though I do love Madden 12, it's the game of my childhood, I've found the game to be very limited through my first season controlling the 49ers, especially when it comes to gameplay. That being said, I don't think my journey with that team is finished yet. I want to go through an offseason, and see my younger players, like starting QB Colin Kaepernick and Super Bowl MVP Kendall Hunter develop, plus get an opportunity to bring in new blood. I can't c
