The Dog League: 2021 Preseason Update (Part 2)

More action has taken place in the lead-up to the beginning of the 2021 season, and another couple injuries for key players, plus some overall tinkering, has led to 4 more waiver moves being made in the Dog League. Let's break 'em down. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Canine Comets

The Comets made their second move of the year shortly after the last update was written, bringing in Jerry Jeudy as a backup receiver in place of Darnell Mooney. Jeudy flashed potential last year, and with the reliable Teddy Bridgewater now throwing to him, the Comets hope the young receiver will take a step forward in his second season.

Growlers

The league's other expansion team has stayed active on the waiver wire, making a move this morning to acquire Tyler Higbee, who will be penciled in to start at tight end with Irv Smith set to miss time with a knee injury. Higbee was added in place of Matt Ryan, as the Growlers will gamble on Josh Allen to stay healthy as the sole quarterback on their roster.

Leaping Girl

Emma made her first waiver move of the year last Thursday, dropping A.J. Dillon to bring in Trey Sermon, as she hopes that between Sermon and Raheem Mostert, one of the two electrifying 49ers backs will prove to be a long-term weapon.

Bark Force

It's been a rough past few months for Bark Force, as following the loss of Cam Akers, the team has now lost J.K. Dobbins for the year after a devastating ACL tear. You never want to see two of your top draft picks go down this early, but Bark Force will just have to pick themselves up and keep pushing forward. Yet again, they have activated "Option C", which allows them to bring in the immediate backup for an injured player, without anyone else in the league allowed to claim that backup. In this case, that means acquiring Gus Edwards, who is not quite as dynamic a player as Dobbins, but should still provide reliable play as the head of the run-heavy Ravens backfield.

Hopefully, the next time you hear about the Dog League, it'll be for the Week 1 Preview, without significantly more moves needing to be made between now and then, but it's been a crazy preseason thus far, so no promises can be made.

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...

Henry's Universe Mode #90: Main Event

Tonight on Main Event, it's Cruiserweight Classic Group B action. The talented Rich Swann faces the vicious Drew Gulak, and in the main event the Technical Wizard Zack Sabre Jr takes on Cedric Alexander. Also, it's the debut of one of SmackDown's newest tag teams, The Revival, as they face Raw's Golden Truth. Universe Mode Main Event December 14th, 2016 Location: Greensboro, NC The Revival vs Golden Truth Goldust and R-Truth are talented veterans, but it was Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson that controlled this match. They looked very impressive in their debut, using a slow pace to pick apart the Bizzare One, before finishing him off with a Shatter Machine to pick up a big debut win. Winners: The Revival Rich Swann vs Drew Gulak- Cruiserweight Classic Group B Match This was the classic match up between high flying and technical brilliance, and it was Gulak's slower style that controlled this match. Swann got in his offense whenever he could, hit...
