The Dog League: Week 17 Preview (2021 Playoffs)

One last week remains on the schedule, as the eight Dog League teams finish up what has been a tumultuous campaign. As anticipated, Rare Woofs and Ridiculous Rascals will meet in the grand finale, but there's draft spots on the line for every other team, in addition to the all-important bragging rights.

Leaping Girl

Final Record: (5-10, 8th Seed)

As has been the case for most of this year, Leaping Girl was cannon fodder in Round 1 of the playoffs, getting devoured by Growlers in a near 100-point defeat. This week, she may get two new options at running back, with D'Andre Swift yet again attempting to get cleared, while Darrel Williams could get a boost with Clyde Edwards-Helaire banged up. Neither guy makes her lineup for now, but she does have a new starter in Isaiah McKenzie, who was added after Mike Evans (COVID) went to reserve.

UPDATE: The returns of Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis have caused Emma to drop Isaiah McKenzie, starting Tyler Boyd as her WR3 instead.

UPDATE: D'Andre Swift returns to Leaping Girl's starting lineup, sending Ezekiel Elliott to the bench.

UPDATE: With Clyde Edwards-Helaire ruled out, Leaping Girl will start Darrel Williams, benching Josh Jacobs.

UPDATE: Mike Evans is cleared, so he returns to play as Leaping Girl's WR2, with Tyler Boyd moving back to the bench.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Bark Force)

QB Jalen Hurts
RB Alvin Kamara
RB D'Andre Swift
WR Michael Pittman
WR Mike Evans
WR Russell Gage
TE Dallas Goedert
RB Darrel Williams
K Evan McPherson
DEF New England Patriots

Tug of War

Final Record: (6-9, 7th Seed)

Even with an injury to Miles Sanders, and a loss of points in leaving Amari Cooper on the bench, Tug of War edged out Bark Force last week, keyed by a 43 points game from Tee Higgins. Yet again, they make no waiver moves, swapping Sanders out of the starting lineup for Michael Carter, and benching Jarvis Landry to start Cooper.

UPDATE: Tug of War will start Eli Mitchell over Michael Carter.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Growlers)

QB Tom Brady
RB Aaron Jones
RB Saquon Barkley
WR Tee Higgins
WR Amari Cooper
WR Marquise Brown
TE George Kittle
RB Eli Mitchell
K Tyler Bass
DEF Green Bay Packers

Bark Force

Final Record: (6-9, 6th Seed)

Bark Force could not survive James Robinson's torn Achilles and Hunter Henry's quiet game, as the team that was once the best in the league will now fight to avoid a last place finish. This week, they send Robinson to reserve, and will likely end up sending Darrell Henderson there before the week is out, adding and starting Dare Ogunbowale as a result.

UPDATE: Welcome back, Cam Akers! The young running back who was drafted by Bark Force earlier this year finally gets his chance to join the official roster for a game, gaining a seat on the bench as Darrell Henderson heads to reserve.

UPDATE: Bark Force has benched DeVonta Smith for Odell Beckham Jr.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Leaping Girl)

QB Aaron Rodgers
RB Sony Michel
RB Dare Ogunbowale
WR Davante Adams
WR CeeDee Lamb
WR Odell Beckham Jr.
TE Hunter Henry
WR Christian Kirk
K Daniel Carlson
DEF Kansas City Chiefs

Growlers

Final Record: (6-9, 5th Seed)

Growlers struck gold in Week 16, as big games from Josh Allen, Damien Harris, A.J. Brown, Dalton Schultz, and the Dolphins defense saw them come within an eyelash of the vaunted 200-point total, leaving Leaping Girl in the dust. This week, they get back Austin Ekeler, dropping Justin Jackson and benching Harris. Mike Williams (COVID) heads to reserve, and Growlers adds Tavon Austin, who starts over Brandon Aiyuk.

UPDATE: Growlers has activated and will start Mike Williams, benching Tavon Austin, who will be dropped to make way for Elijah Moore if Moore comes off the COVID list.

UPDATE: Growlers has benched Javonte Williams to start Damien Harris.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Tug of War)

QB Josh Allen
RB Austin Ekeler
RB Cordarrelle Patterson
WR A.J. Brown
WR Mike Williams
WR Darnell Mooney
TE Dalton Schultz
RB Damien Harris
K Nick Folk
DEF Miami Dolphins

Canine Comets

Final Record: (6-9, 4th Seed)

The Comets put up the best fight they could against Rare Woofs, but 158 points didn't get them even remotely close to victory. This week, they make several moves, activating Travis Kelce out of the reserve, and sending Julio Jones (COVID) to their reserve. They dropped Cole Kmet, and used the extra two roster spaces to add Jamaal Williams and Rex Burkhead. Burkhead is the only one listed as a starter for now, as he takes over for the banged-up Clyde Edwards-Helaire as the RB2.

UPDATE: Canine Comets has dropped Jamaal Williams to add D'Onta Foreman, starting him as their flex over Devonta Freeman. They will also start Travis Kelce at tight end.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Tailwaggerz)

QB Patrick Mahomes
RB Nick Chubb
RB Rex Burkhead
WR Diontae Johnson
WR Jaylen Waddle
WR DK Metcalf
TE Travis Kelce
RB D'Onta Foreman
K Matt Gay
DEF Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tailwaggerz

Final Record: (9-6, 3rd Seed)

Tailwaggerz came so close to a trip to another championship game, narrowly falling to Rascal in a 4-point defeat. This week, they make no waiver moves, and change nothing about their lineup, for right now at least.

UPDATE: Tailwaggerz has placed Adam Thielen on reserve and added K.J. Osborn. They've also dropped Alexander Mattison, and returned Dalvin Cook to their starting lineup.

UPDATE: Tailwaggerz has placed Antonio Gibson (COVID) on reserve and added Jaret Patterson, who starts in the flex.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Canine Comets)

QB Matthew Stafford
RB Najee Harris
RB Dalvin Cook
WR Cooper Kupp
WR Antonio Brown
WR Keenan Allen
TE Kyle Pitts
RB Antonio Gibson
K Greg Joseph
DEF Indianapolis Colts

Ridiculous Rascals

Final Record: (10-5, 2nd Seed)

Rascal scrapped through Round 1, snapping his three-game losing streak and now facing the near impossible task of finding a way to be competitive against Rare Woofs. Rascal changes nothing about his lineup except at quarterback, where he will try out another new option, dropping Matt Ryan to add Trey Lance, who is listed as the starter with Jimmy Garoppolo expected to be out this week.

UPDATE: Rascal has sent Darren Waller (COVID) to reserve, activating Brandin Cooks and listing him as the flex starter.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Rare Woofs)

QB Trey Lance
RB Jonathan Taylor
RB Joe Mixon
WR Tyreek Hill
WR Hunter Renfrow
WR Ja'Marr Chase
TE Zach Ertz
WR Brandin Cooks
K Justin Tucker
DEF Los Angeles Rams

Rare Woofs

Final Record: (12-3, 1st Seed)

There may be no force on Earth that can stop Rare Woofs, as they reset their own scoring record last week, blasting off for 218 points, and scarily, they could've done far better if they started Joe Burrow over Justin Herbert at quarterback. This week, they look to rectify that mistake, listing Burrow as the starter, and enter at full force in pursuit of a three-peat.

UPDATE: Rare Woofs will go back to starting Justin Herbert at quarterback.

Week 17 Starting Lineup (vs Ridiculous Rascals)

QB Justin Herbert
RB David Montgomery
RB Ronald Jones
WR Justin Jefferson
WR Stefon Diggs
WR Deebo Samuel
TE Mark Andrews
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown
K Robbie Gould
DEF Dallas Cowboys

Henry's Universe Mode #209: No Mercy(Part 1)

What does it take to be the best? It's a question that's been asked many times, by many people. To many, the answer is complicated; tonight, it is quite simple. Lay it all on the line, not for yourself but in pursuit of something. Settle your scores by defeating your opponent, as decisively as possible. Be ready for any opportunity that presents itself, because it might be your only chance. And above all else, show.....no......mercy. And now, Raw and SmackDown present.....................No Mercy! The Route of Life

dedicated to my hermits, who changed my life Ch 1 My Hermit crabs Hermit crabs are sometimes hard to take care of. Especially when you never had a hermit. Last Sunday afternoon I got 2 Hermit crabs. Their names are Crabbe and Goyle. I have talked with many sales people. The first Petco we went to (where we got the hermits and their things) seemed to have no idea on the subject. So we ended up going to Dolphin Pet Village. They were more experience at the subject. Now we have some of the things we will need. Last week, I went to a second Petco. There we got a cuttlebone, which is the bone of a fish. Now they look happy. Have a good day Hermit Crabs! Ch 2 Curious Crab The week before last week, my mom looked into my crabitat and found that one of my crabs had climbed one of my fake trees. It was on the top branch. Later, when I was changing to get ready for bed, the crab fell out of his branch. I hope he is okay. He’s definitely starting to look okay. How funny do you think that story is
