Henry's Universe Mode: 2017 WWE Draft

We are here today to conduct the first ever WWE Draft, where Raw and SmackDown competitors will learn the fates heading into Season 3 of Henry's Universe Mode. In this post, I will give an explanation of the rules, before unveiling each draft pick and giving you my thoughts. Enjoy!

Rules

-Each brand will have five draft picks, ten picks total.

-Champions are not eligible to be drafted.

-Tag teams/stables can be drafted as a unit or individuals, depending on what the GM wants and what the wrestler wants.

-Thanks to winning Brand Warfare, SmackDown will get the first pick, while Raw will get the last pick.

The 2017 WWE Draft begins..........right now!

Pick #1- SmackDown selects Brock Lesnar

What a way to start of the draft, as the Beast Incarnate in heading to Tuesday Nights. Since losing to Samoa Joe a few weeks ago on Raw, we haven't seen anything from Brock Lesnar. This move will certainly have most of the SmackDown roster looking over their shoulder.

Pick #2- Raw selects Shinsuke Nakamura

YEAOH! After picking up a big win at WrestleMania over Tyler Breeze, the King of Strong Style is heading to Raw. This is a big move from Shane McMahon, who adds a ready-made star.

Pick #3- SmackDown selects Sami Zayn

The blue brand has proved itself to be the wrestling show of the two brands, and adds one of the best in the world today in Sami Zayn. The Underdog from the Underground vanquished Kevin Owens at WrestleMania, and now may very well set his sights on AJ Styles and the WWE Championship.

Pick #4- Raw selects Braun Strowman

The Monster Among Men had made a huge impact here in Universe Mode, picking up wins over the likes of Kane and Big Show in the past. Now, he's heading to the flagship show, where surely more carnage awaits.

Pick #5- SmackDown selects Roman Reigns

The Big Dog may have come up short at WrestleMania against Cesaro, but he put up one hell on an effort. So far in Universe Mode, he's constantly been in the presence on the former Shield, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Now, he may finally get his chance to break out as a singles competitor.

Pick #6- Raw selects Dolph Ziggler

The Awesome Showoffs didn't have a great run on SmackDown, and agreed to go their separate ways. Dolph Ziggler is a former United States Champion, and may well set his sights on that belt once more.

Pick #7- SmackDown selects Enzo and Big Cass

The blue brand adds one more to the tag team ranks, in Enzo Amore and Big Cass. With their manager Carmella heading down to NXT, the Realest Guys will join the likes of The Club and the Wyatt Family on Tuesday Nights.

Pick #8- Raw selects Paige

The first female competitor off the board is the 2016 Female Wrestler of the Year, Paige. The Anti-Diva has done it all in Universe Mode, and will now look to win the Raw Women's Title, the only title that she is yet to win.

Pick #9- SmackDown selects Bayley

SmackDown's final selection of the draft is it's first female wrestler in the Hugster, Bayley. We have not seen Bayley since she lost at Fastlane to Asuka, so what does her future hold?

Pick #10- Raw selects The Revival

Shane McMahon ends the draft by drafting Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. Thanks to their loss at WrestleMania, they are currently banned from competing for the WWE Tag Team Titles. However, that ban was put in place by SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan, not Shane, so we'll have to see what the future holds for the Top Guys.

That will do it for the 2017 WWE Draft. However, any wrestler that wishes to switch brand can still be offered a contract at any time, so these rosters may not be final. Catch Season 3 in Henry's Universe Mode next week on Monday Night Raw

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Henry's Universe Mode #205: SmackDown Live

Over the weekend, big news was broken by SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan, as he announced two title rematches for No Mercy. First up, Kenny Omega will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Randy Orton, and in the second, John Cena will look to make his first defense as WWE Champion against AJ Styles. Tonight on SmackDown Live, it's another Summerslam rematch in the main event, as Alexa Bliss defends against Emma. Can the Australian Sensation punch her ticket to No Mercy? Plus, Heath Slater takes on Aiden English, and the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, is in singles action. Universe Mode SmackDown Live September 12th, 2017 Location: Dallas, TX Heath Slater vs Aiden English This was a big chance for momentum for both of these two men, as Slater was kicked out of the Social Outcasts a few months ago, while English's tag team partner, Simon Gotch, was recently released. Both of these men showed a lot of potential, and got the crowd invested on a couple of nea...
