Henry's Universe Mode #211: Raw

I though I'd take this opportunity to let you all know of my plans for Henry's Universe Mode during December. The next pay-per-view is October's Halloween Havoc. Currently, the schedule is for three Raw, SmackDown and NXT shows before we reach the event, with a preview post very similar to No Mercy's. The plan is to get all 11 posts up this month, although that's not a guarantee, so stay tuned.

With Halloween Havoc on the horizon, the big news for Raw this week coming out of No Mercy is the return of Finn Balor. With Samoa Joe taking time off to heal from his injuries, the former NXT Champion wants to be first in line for Braun Strowman and the Universal Championship, but Shane McMahon wants Balor to earn his shot. Tonight, he will go one on one with a "worthy challenger". Plus, The Revival want to get back in the title picture as they will face former champions The Hardy Boyz, and Alicia Fox and Mickie James meet in singles action.

The Hardy Boyz vs The Revival

This was a rematch of the two teams' first collision a few months ago on Raw, and Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder looked fired up to avenge their previous defeat. Jeff and Matt showed some wear from their highly competitive contest with the Shield at No Mercy, as Dash and Dawson were able to take control of the contest. The former Raw Tag Team Champions did their best to get back in the match, with Jeff connecting with Whisper in the Wind and looking to finish off the match. But a fresh Scott Dawson fired back, taking Jeff's leg out with a chop block to set up the Shatter Machine.

Winners: The Revival

Say Yeah

After the match, Raw GM Shane McMahon congratulated the pair on the win. He then announced that next week, we will see #DIY square off with the New Day. The winners of that match will face The Revival at Halloween Havoc in a number one contender's match for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

Mickie James vs Alicia Fox

After Mickie eliminated Alicia from the battle royal on Raw a few weeks ago, Fox was quick to call out James on social media, leading to this match being made. Fox talked a big game, but was now in the position of backing it up. She was impressive in this match, staying on the attack for the most part and not giving Mickie a chance to get back into it. Although James survived for as long as she could, Miss Fox kept her composure, and got the win with the Axe Kick.

Winner: Alicia Fox

Return of a Hero

It was time for Raw's main event, and Finn Balor was ready to see the man who would stand in his way of a Universal Championship match. The challenges don't get much bigger than this, because Balor's opponent was the only Olympic Gold Medalist in wrestling history, Kurt Angle!

Finn Balor vs Kurt Angle

This would be considered a dream match for many fans, and it more than lived up to expectation. We saw vintage, old school Kurt Angle on this night, as he tossed Balor around the ring right from the minuted the bell rang. If Finn was to survive long enough to get the three, he would have to avoid Angle's insane technical wresting skills, and he wasn't up to the challenge early on. It was nearly all over following an early Angle Slam, but Balor was up to the task of getting the shoulder up. But the problem with facing a guy like Kurt Angle is his ridiculous stamina, and his inane ability to get better as a match progressed. Balor just had to throw everything he could at Angle, and his high flying skills and unmatched athleticism did get him a few near falls. A mistake up top led to a big powerbomb from Angle, and the Ankle Lock was applied soon after. Once again, Balor was just able to survive, fighting to the bottom rope, but a lot of damage had been done. A hobbled Balor was easy prey for Angle, who began to set up for a top rope Angle Slam. Finn fought him off with one last gasp, and was able to deliver the Coup de Grace, taking an awful lot of impact on his injured right ankle. He got enough of the move to keep Angle down long enough to get the cover and the three, but on another night, the result could have been completely different.

Winner: Finn Balor

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
