Greatest Royal Rumble Recap

Did you like the alliteration in the title? I liked it. Anyway, here are my live reactions to WWE's first Saudi Arabia pay-per-view, the Greatest Royal Rumble. - At the start of the show, I noted how incredibly rabid this crowd was. Over-saturation in the American market is a very real thing, and being in front of a new audience helped give this show a very unique feel. - John Cena and Triple H kicked off the show with a very old school style match. Lots of working the crowd, a very slow pace and just allowing the fans to get a chance to settle into the show. Cena got a nice pop for his win, so it was a good start to the show. - I always love me a Cedric Alexander match on the main card, and I though he had a fun, flippy affair with Kalisto. It was a nice counter to the first match, although the crowd didn't seem to care about it at all. - The fate of the Raw Tag Titles was mostly already decided, given Cesaro and Sheamus being drafted to SmackDown. Their match

American Dad "My Purity Ball and Chain" Review

Ever since I stopped doing my South Park reviews last year, I've been looking to do some more TV show reviews, and I figured, why not American Dad? It's a show I've been watching for a while, and the themes and characters should be simply enough to compress into a short review format. So without further ado, here's my review of Season 15, Episode 11, "My Purity Ball and Chain". (Quick note: for those unfamiliar with American Dad, I'm not planning on doing any backstory or anything for the show. If you're new to AD, I highly suggest going back and watching older episodes; seasons 4-6 are some of the best seasons from any show I've ever seen.) Boy, starting my coverage of the show with an episode about abstinence and incestuous father/daughter relations; talk about starting off with a bang, amirite? This episode's A-plot is centered around Steve's decision to join a purity group, wanting to spend time with his new crush, Shannon. Yes,

The Revolution: Episode 14(King is Born)

Tonight, on The Revolution, the self professed "Master of Strong Style" Hideo Itami faces NXT's newest signing, the "King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura! The winner of this massive contest will receive the third spot in the North American Championship ladder match. For the first time since being told he may be fired at NXT Arrival, Samoa Joe is in action, and promises to address his No Holds Barred match with Seth Rollins. But before any of that, the NXT Champion Cesaro is here, as he and Bobby Roode sign the contract for their championship match. This was the first opportunity to see Cesaro since capturing the NXT Championship, and he already had the air of a champion, walking to ring clad in a very nice suit, championship belt over his shoulder. There were no theatrics from Bobby Roode on this night, as he simply walked to the ring, all business. The two got right down too it, quickly signing the contract after exchanging a few words. It was then th

The Revolution: Episode 13(Showing Off)

Apologies for no post of The Revolution last week, as I was kind of burned out on wrestling thanks to WrestleMania Weekend. I'm back again this week, and to make up for it, I'm planning to put up another episode of The Revolution on either Thursday or Friday, so stay tuned for that. Full Sail University is still buzzing for the ending to the last episode of NXT, as Bobby Roode defeated AJ Styles to become the number one contender to Cesaro's NXT Championship. Tonight, we see Dolph Ziggler take on Tye Dillinger for the second spot in the North American Championship ladder match at NXT Arrival. American Alpha must enter the Uso Penitentiary, as face Jimmy and Jey Uso with the winners taking on The Revival for the Tag Team Championships. Plus, an announcement from Triple H concerning the Women's Championship! Dolph Ziggler vs Tye Dillinger With the fans in Full Sail on his side, Tye Dillinger came out of the gates roaring, as he took down Dolph Ziggler with a T

WrestleMania 34 Recap

Trying something new for tonight's show, as I will be updating this post live, before sending it out immediately after the show ends. Because of that, there will be no intro here, sorry. Anyway, it's a stacked card tonight, and I'm very excited, so let's get to it. Welcome to my recap of WrestleMania 34. WrestleMania 31 Score: 9/10 WrestleMania 32 Score: 5/10 WrestleMania 33 Score: 9/10 - Kick-off thoughts: Enjoyed the Andre battle royal, one of the best they've ran in my opinion. Loved Bray with a potential face turn to assist Woken Matt's win. Cedric Alexander has worked his a** off to get in this position, and it was great to see him finally become champion, in what was a very good match that could've used more time. Why on Earth did Naomi win the women's battle royal? Bayley eliminating Sasha was a great moment, and really should've been the finish. A flat way to end the pre-show. - You knew Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and The

NXT Takeover: New Orleans Recap

Just a random observation, but these Takeover shows are now starting to approach WWE pay-per-view length, with this show going over three hours. It's a small thing, and given the regular quality of the Takeover shows, not really a problem in any way. Just an interesting observation. On with the show! - Really dug the way the show opened, with a live musical performance over the opening highlight package. A really effective way to use the much hated live performance, and provide a different way to open a show. Very cool. - The North American Championship ladder match was obviously very fun, a great way to start the show. There were just so many great spots, and all six men looked really good. Extra props to Velveteen Dream, who is awesome as previously established, but took some insane bumps during this match, putting him over huge. Also loved Lars Sullivan as a conquering force, and I would love to see him working more matches with guys like Killian Dain and Ricochet, who

The Revolution: Episode 12(The Next Step)

Earlier today, NXT Owner and General Manager Triple H made a huge announcement: in five weeks, the brand will host its first pay-per-view of the series, NXT Arrival. All four NXT Championships will be on the line, and tonight, we take our first step into determining who will face off at the event. First up, "The King of the Cruiserweights" Neville will face Kassius Ohno, with the winner being the first to qualify to fight for the NXT North American Championship. In our main event, AJ Styles takes on a mystery opponent, with the winner facing Cesaro for the NXT Championship. But before all of that, Triple H is here in Full Sail University to address the actions of Samoa Joe. A very upset Triple H opened NXT, making a quick entrance to the ring, devoid of his usual pageantry. He made no bones of the fact that he was not happy with the way the NXT Championship Tournament finished, and demanded the presence of Samoa Joe. Joe made his way to the ring with a microphone, but

My Favorite WrestleMania Matches Ever

Well, this is very confusing. I seem to recall making this list before, and releasing it on my blog. However, there's no evidence to support this, so I guess it was just a dream? Anyway, here's my five favorite WrestleMania matches of all-time. 5. Triple H vs The Undertaker- WrestleMania 28 Tag-lines for matches and shows in WWE rarely mean anything. Remember when Bobby Roode vs Shinsuke Nakamura was "the biggest money match in NXT history"? Remember "Once in a Lifetime" with John Cena and The Rock? Remember "Oh God, what were we thinking?" with the WrestleMania 25 Diva's battle royal? In the build up to this match, WWE made a big deal out of the tagline, "The End of an Era". Naturally, many fans assumed this was just a marketing ploy, not taking the company at its word. The match itself was an emotional rollercoaster, with The Undertaker's kick-out of the Sweet Chin Music/Pedigree combo becoming a legendary Wres
