Blog Update- Looking Ahead to 2019

With 2018 almost over and the New Year approaching, I decided it's time for another blog update. Today, I'm here to discuss everything related to my blog and what you expect in 2019. Enjoy! - First off, I again want to thank everyone who tuned in to my Dog League coverage over the past four months. Those posts generated a lot more traffic than last year, and I definitely felt a lot more comfortable the second time around. Plus, I also managed to avoid feeling any burn-out, which is the most important thing. Going forward, you can expect September-December to be dominated by the Dog League, though there may be a few other posts sprinkled in. I have already planned some changes for next year to keep things fresh so that no one, least of all me, gets bored. - Hey, American Dad is coming back! The show has been on hiatus since May, but new episodes will begin at the end of January, so get excited for that. I'll be bringing back my weekly reviews, and I'll have to

The Dog League; Week 16 Review(2018 Playoffs)

A new champion is crowned in Week 16 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Fifth Place Game: #5   Tug of War(125.46) vs #6 Leaping Girl(97.84) ANALYSIS Deshaun Watson(36.46 points) led the way, as Tug of War waltzed to an easy win and the first pick in next year's draft. Struggling stars Alvin Kamara(22.5 points) and Zach Ertz(23 points) both delivered as well, providing more than enough secondary scoring. This is Leaping Girl's seventh consecutive playoff loss, with only Russell Wilson(28.54 points) scoring reasonably high. Now picking last in the 2019 Draft, the future is not bright for the perennial last place team. Third Place Game: #1 Ridiculous Rascals(136.64) vs #3 Bark Force(116.42) ANALYSIS Ridiculous Rascals recovered face by demolishing Bark Force, as Antonio Brown(30.5 points) delivered his biggest game of the season. However, it was the last minute addition of Kyle Rudolph(24.2 points)

The Dog League; Week 16 Preview(2018 Playoffs)

The Dog League Championship is at stake in Week 16, as Rare Woofs try to complete their Cinderella run against Tailwaggerz. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl (#6 Seed, Fifth Place Game) Leaping Girl has her third chance in as many years to avoid last place this week. She made one back-up move, dropping running back Jeff Wilson for his teammate Dante Pettis. Week 16 Starting Line-Up(vs Tug of War) QB Russell Wilson RB Ezekiel Elliott RB Nick Chubb WR DeAndre Hopkins WR Adam Thielen TE George Kittle WR Keenan Allen K Wil Lutz DEF Los Angeles Rams Tug of War (#5 Seed, Fifth Place Game) Eliminated from the playoffs for the first time, Tug of War seeks to avoid an embarrassing last place finish. They dropped Josh Gordon for Chris Hogan, and Chris Godwin for his teammate Peyton Barber. Marlon Mack returns to the line-up this week to replace Lamar Miller, as he has a better match-up against the Giants. We

The Dog League: Week 15 Review(2018 Playoffs)

Bark Force implodes and Rascal makes history in Week 15 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) First Round: #2 Tailwaggerz(108.96) vs #3 Bark Force(64.42) ANALYSIS You could've predicted Tailwaggerz winning this game, but I don't think anyone could've seen this shocking performance from Bark Force coming. Aaron Jones(0.8 points) went out injured and Saquon Barkley(5.6 points) was completely held in check, with no other starters stepping up to carry the load. For Tailwaggerz, their pieced together running back corps delivered, as David Johnson(16.1 points), Damian Williams(24.3 points) and Jaylen Samuels(17.2 points) provided unexpected high scoring. Tailwaggerz have gotten through perhaps their toughest test, and advance to the championship to face... First Round: #1 Ridiculous Rascals(78.62) vs #4 Rare Woofs(85.98) ANALYSIS Rascal was a heavy favorite heading into this game, and this shocking lo

The Dog League: Week 15 Preview(2018 Playoffs)

The playoffs begin in Week 15 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl With no game this week, Leaping Girl was restricted to only making injury substitutions. With Jordan Reed out this week with a toe injury, she added his replacement, Vernon Davis. Tug of War With no game this week, Tug of War was restricted to only making injury substitutions. No players are out injured, so no moves were made. Rare Woofs (#4 Seed) Andrew Luck returns to start for Rare Woofs this week, as Jameis Winston faces an extremely tough Ravens defense. Speaking of that defense, they'll stream them in this week, and they'll be joined by fellow new addition Justin Jackson. Jackson was added for Austin Ekeler, and is tentatively penciled in to start over Tarik Cohen. Week 15 Starting Line-Up(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Andrew Luck RB Todd Gurley RB Leonard Fournette WR Julian Edelman WR Michael Thomas TE Rob

The Dog League: Week 14 Review(2018 Season)

Rascal gets the job done by the narrowest means possible in Week 14 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War(102.78) vs Ridiculous Rascals(103.64) ANALYSIS Rascal pulls out a nail-biter to win his first Regular Season Championship, as running backs Christian McCaffrey(22.1 points) and Joe Mixon(19.8 points) led the way. Antonio Brown(3.5 points) massively under performed, nearly blowing the game for Rascal. For Tug of War, Julio Jones(22.6 points) and the Bears defense(20 points) came to play, but Brandin Cooks(2.2 points) and Zach Ertz(3.8 points) did not, eliminating Tug of War from the playoffs. Game 2: Bark Force(130.48) vs Tailwaggerz(96.7) ANALYSIS Big games from Saquon Barkley(25.7 points) and JuJu Smith-Schuster(25 points) led Bark Force to an expected win, and a playoff spot. With Kareem Hunt and James Conner gone, Tailwaggerz would've hoped that David Johnson(6.1 points) would

The Dog League: Week 14 Preview(2018 Season)

It's the final week of the regular season in Week 14 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl Current Record: (4-9, 6th place) With nothing to play for, Leaping Girl dropped two injured players for their replacements, Matt Breida for Jeff Wilson and Emmanuel Sanders for Courtland Sutton. She also made a change at backup quarterback, dropping Kirk Cousins to add Philip Rivers. Week 14 Starting Line-Up(vs Rare Woofs) QB Russell Wilson RB Ezekiel Elliott RB Nick Chubb WR DeAndre Hopkins WR Adam Thielen TE George Kittle WR Keenan Allen K Wil Lutz DEF Los Angeles Rams Bark Force Current Record: (6-7, 5th place) Bark Force needs a win and either a Rare Woofs or Tug of War loss to qualify for the playoffs. With a solid starting line-up, they made a change at defense, bringing in the Chargers who have a good match-up against the Bengals. UPDATE: With Odell Beckham ruled out, Stefon Diggs wi

The Dog League: Week 13 Review(2018 Season)

Leaping Girl fights for her life and Rascal chokes in Week 13 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War(69.74) vs Rare Woofs(86.42) ANALYSIS Ouch. Tug of War majorly lets down Phillip Lindsay(27.9 points) who had the game of his life without any help from the rest of the team. The two Falcons, Matt Ryan(7.64 points) and Julio Jones(1.8 points) majorly disappointed, and the early exit of A.J. Green(0.7 points) didn't help. The interesting duo of star running back Todd Gurley(28.5 points) and kicker Justin Tucker(14 points) led Rare Woofs to the win, and they have now all but clinched a playoff spot. Game 2: Tailwaggerz(122.1) vs Leaping Girl(118.3) ANALYSIS After losing Kareem Hunt on Friday, Tailwaggerz narrowly pulled out a win to put themselves in the driver's seat to claim the regular season championship. No player scored over 20 points, but Jared Cook(16 points) and the Texans def
