Blog Update- Looking Ahead to 2019

With 2018 almost over and the New Year approaching, I decided it's time for another blog update. Today, I'm here to discuss everything related to my blog and what you expect in 2019. Enjoy!

- First off, I again want to thank everyone who tuned in to my Dog League coverage over the past four months. Those posts generated a lot more traffic than last year, and I definitely felt a lot more comfortable the second time around. Plus, I also managed to avoid feeling any burn-out, which is the most important thing. Going forward, you can expect September-December to be dominated by the Dog League, though there may be a few other posts sprinkled in. I have already planned some changes for next year to keep things fresh so that no one, least of all me, gets bored.

- Hey, American Dad is coming back! The show has been on hiatus since May, but new episodes will begin at the end of January, so get excited for that. I'll be bringing back my weekly reviews, and I'll have to find away to balance that with other content on the blog. There's also a new season of Cloak & Dagger next year, so I don't expect to be covering any other TV shows, as these two will give my plenty of work.

- Of course, the headliner for 2019 is the return of Henry's Universe Mode. I have not been producing weekly shows since December of 2017, well over a year now. Raw and SmackDown will now be weekly, however NXT will stick to the same format as last year, Takeovers only. I did mention bringing in 205 Live at some point, but that obviously fell through, so I'm sticking with the same three shows moving forward. I've already pre-written the first full month of content, and I've been really enjoying it, so hopefully you will too.

- If you've gotten this far, how about a reward? It's time to reveal my schedule for Season 4 of Henry's Universe Mode. Now, I've gone back and forth on this, but I've decided to done pay-per-view a month, with a mix between solo and dual branded. I was thinking of doing more frequent events, but that probably would've slowed everything down, and that's the last thing I wanted.

Season 4 Calendar(in universe, this has no effect on when shows are posted):

January: Royal Rumble(Raw/SmackDown)

February: Elimination Chamber(Raw)

March: WrestleMania(Raw/SmackDown)

April: Backlash(Raw.SmackDown)

May: Extreme Rules(Raw)

June: Money in the Bank(Raw/SmackDown)

July: Battleground(SmackDown)

August: Summerslam(Raw/SmackDown)

September: Clash of Champions(SmackDown)

October: No Mercy(Raw)

November: Survivor Series(Raw/SmackDown)

December: Starrcade(SmackDown)

Any NXT Takeover show would just be distributed in there, mostly at the Big 4 events.

- Finally, I just wanted to address my WWE recaps, which I cancelled back in July. Since then, I've felt no real desire to cover the real life product, and I've felt like my blog has done just fine without any extra content. Saying that, it's no impossible that kind of content could return. The biggest problem is that amount of time I have to dedicate to it, between watching the show and writing up a review. Also, I just don't like the direction WWE is taking, but that's more of a personal issue. I certainly wouldn't be willing to say they're never coming back, but I would need some sort of drastic shift to get me interested.

Hopefully this wasn't too much information to drop at one time, I'm always subconscious about how many words I put in these posts. I'm looking forward to 2019, and hopefully something that I've mentioned today has gotten you more excited for what I've got coming up. 2018 has been a good year for my blog, but hopefully next year will be even better. Sayonara 2018! I'll see you here, on January 1st, 2019, for Monday Night Raw!

- Henry

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
