The Dog League: Week 4 Preview (2021 Season)

Week 3 saw Rascal come plummeting back down to earth, Tailwaggerz take off into the stratosphere, and Bark Force continue to orbit the skies, awaiting their next challenger. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Rare Woofs

Current Record: (1-2, 5th Place)

We have an unusual situation to open up Week 4 of the Dog League, as Rare Woofs will have the top waiver priority, despite not being anywhere near the bottom of the standings. Week 3 saw them take a tough loss to Tug of War, coming up 3 points short of victory, and the early exit of Christian McCaffrey spelled their doom. The 3 teams below Rare Woofs in the standings have agreed to let them leap up, under the knowledge that with only David Montgomery and Leonard Fournette left in their running backs room, Rare Woofs would have to drop one of their elite receivers (Stefon Diggs, Justin Jefferson, Tyler Lockett, D.J. Moore, Julio Jones, or Deebo Samuel), and this would be a gigantic opportunity to score a serious talent for one of the other teams. Jones was the fall guy this week, getting dropped in the Dog League for the first time ever, as Rare Woofs brought in McCaffrey's replacement in Carolina, Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard heads into the starting lineup to become the RB2, and he's joined there by Moore, who replaces Lockett in the flex, as Moore has a very tasty matchup with the Cowboys upcoming. Noah Fant starts at tight end over Mark Andrews, as he faces a Ravens defense that have struggled against top-flight tight ends, and the Dolphins defense start over the Panthers defense.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Leaping Girl)

QB Justin Herbert
RB David Montgomery
RB Chuba Hubbard
WR Stefon Diggs
WR Justin Jefferson
TE Noah Fant
WR D.J. Moore
K Greg Zuerlein
DEF Miami Dolphins

Canine Comets

Current Record: (0-3, 8th Place)

The Comets just haven't been able to get a single break their way this year, as they remain the highest scoring team in the league, but lost again, this time to their fellow expansion team, the Growlers. The Comets do benefit from relinquishing their top waiver priority, as they are able to snag Julio Jones, dropping Rondale Moore. The trio of Jones, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Diontae Johnson all have injuries having over their heads this week, and while the Comets start Jones in the flex for now, they could always go for Corey Davis instead as the emergency option.

UPDATE: With Julio Jones ruled out, the Comets will send out Diontae Johnson to start in the flex this week.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Tug of War)

QB Patrick Mahomes
RB Nick Chubb
RB Chris Carson
WR Chris Godwin
WR DK Metcalf
TE Travis Kelce
WR Diontae Johnson
K Younghoe Koo
DEF Buffalo Bills

Growlers

Current Record: (1-2, 7th Place)

Somehow, someway, the Growlers have dug their way out of the basement, as over 60 points combined from Josh Allen and Mike Williams powered them to a shocking victory over the Comets. They make just one waiver move this week, dropping Robby Anderson to take a chance on Alexander Mattison, who starts in the RB2 role, as Growlers hope Dalvin Cook is out or limited this week. Growlers will also start a new defense, as the Saints replace the Patriots, and bring Allen Robinson into the starting lineup at the flex spot, as with A.J. Brown injured, they will bank on Robinson to rebound against the lowly Lions.

UPDATE: With Dalvin Cook returning, Alexander Mattison heads to the bench, with Javonte Williams getting his first start.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals)

QB Josh Allen
RB Austin Ekeler
RB Javonte Williams
WR Calvin Ridley
WR Mike Williams
TE Tyler Higbee
WR Allen Robinson
K Rodrigo Blankenship
DEF New Orleans Saints

Ridiculous Rascals

Current Record: (1-2, 6th Place)

Rascal has taken a fall from grace these last two weeks, as his momentary glimpse at first place feels far in the past now, as a second straight game under 100 points (still the only team in the league to score that low at any time) led to him getting plastered by the dominant Bark Force. Another loss means lineup changes, as Rascal gambles on the Bengals offense to save him, starting Joe Mixon and Ja'Marr Chase over Mike Davis and Robert Woods. Rascal will also bench Jonathan Taylor in a bold decision, starting Chase Edmonds in his place, under the hope that the Cardinals will pass frequently in their battle with the Rams this week.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Growlers)

QB Russell Wilson
RB Joe Mixon
RB Chase Edmonds
WR Tyreek Hill
WR Brandin Cooks
TE Darren Waller
WR Ja'Marr Chase
K Justin Tucker
DEF Los Angeles Rams

Tug of War

Current Record: (2-1, 4th Place)

Tug of War narrowly scraped out a second win last week, and while their roster is still banged up, things are starting to come together. This week, they take a gamble on Miles Sanders, hoping for a rebound against the beatable Chiefs defense, starting him over Saquon Barkley. They also take a chance on Washington's defense, starting them under the possibility of a bounce-back game against the Falcons.

UPDATE: With Chase Claypool questionable, and facing the competition of a healthy Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster, he will be benched for Odell Beckham Jr.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Canine Comets)

QB Tom Brady
RB Aaron Jones
RB Miles Sanders
WR Amari Cooper
WR Marquise Brown
TE George Kittle
WR Odell Beckham Jr.
K Tyler Bass
DEF Washington Football Team

Leaping Girl

Current Record: (2-1, 3rd Place)

Emma's two-game winning streak came to an end last week, as she got smacked around by Tailwaggerz, but she has a perfect rebound chance against a beatable Rare Woofs team this week. For now, she hopes DeAndre Hopkins can get healthier this week, bringing him in to start over Mike Evans, and will stream the Titans defense, dropping the Browns, as they go into a glorious matchup with the Jets. For her second waiver move, she bailed out of the 49ers running back game, dropping Eli Mitchell to acquire Dallas Goedert, who provides insurance for T.J. Hockenson.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Rare Woofs)

QB Kyler Murray
RB Alvin Kamara
RB D'Andre Swift
WR DeAndre Hopkins
WR Courtland Sutton
TE T.J. Hockenson
WR Tyler Boyd
K Ryan Succop
DEF Tennessee Titans

Tailwaggerz

Current Record: (2-1, 2nd Place)

Tailwaggerz brought the heat in a 161 point performance that jettisoned them into second place, and now, they showdown with Bark Force in a battle for first. Tailwaggerz make two lineup changes, starting Terry McLaurin over Adam Thielen, as he should do well against the Falcons secondary, and the Colts defense over the Cardinals, as they prepare to host Jacoby Brissett and the Dolphins. Tailwaggerz will also continue to monitor the health of Dalvin Cook, who could start this week if his ankle is healed up.

UPDATE: Dalvin Cook is back, and replaces Antonio Gibson to reclaim his role as RB1.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Bark Force)

QB Dak Prescott
RB Dalvin Cook
RB Najee Harris
WR Cooper Kupp
WR Keenan Allen
TE Kyle Pitts
WR Terry McLaurin
K Harrison Butker
DEF Indianapolis Colts

Bark Force

Current Record: (3-0, 1st Place)

Bark Force cruised to a 47 point over the hapless Ridiculous Rascals in Week 3, maintaining a stranglehold over first place. Tailwaggerz definitely could offer them a challenge this week, but right now, no sane man would bet against Bark Force continuing their winning ways. For this week, they bring in two Jaguars to play on Thursday night, as James Robinson starts over Myles Gaskin, while Marvin Jones replaces the banged up Sterling Shepard. Bark Force makes no waiver moves this week, and also shows confidence in their Broncos defense, starting them despite a poor matchup against the Ravens.

Week 4 Starting Lineup(vs Tailwaggerz)

QB Lamar Jackson
RB Derrick Henry
RB James Robinson
WR Davante Adams
WR CeeDee Lamb
TE Logan Thomas
WR Marvin Jones
K Daniel Carlson
DEF Denver Broncos

Henry's Universe Mode #209: No Mercy(Part 1)

What does it take to be the best? It's a question that's been asked many times, by many people. To many, the answer is complicated; tonight, it is quite simple. Lay it all on the line, not for yourself but in pursuit of something. Settle your scores by defeating your opponent, as decisively as possible. Be ready for any opportunity that presents itself, because it might be your only chance. And above all else, show.....no......mercy. And now, Raw and SmackDown present.....................No Mercy! The Route of Life

dedicated to my hermits, who changed my life Ch 1 My Hermit crabs Hermit crabs are sometimes hard to take care of. Especially when you never had a hermit. Last Sunday afternoon I got 2 Hermit crabs. Their names are Crabbe and Goyle. I have talked with many sales people. The first Petco we went to (where we got the hermits and their things) seemed to have no idea on the subject. So we ended up going to Dolphin Pet Village. They were more experience at the subject. Now we have some of the things we will need. Last week, I went to a second Petco. There we got a cuttlebone, which is the bone of a fish. Now they look happy. Have a good day Hermit Crabs! Ch 2 Curious Crab The week before last week, my mom looked into my crabitat and found that one of my crabs had climbed one of my fake trees. It was on the top branch. Later, when I was changing to get ready for bed, the crab fell out of his branch. I hope he is okay. He’s definitely starting to look okay. How funny do you think that story is
