The Dog League: Week 7 Preview (2021 Season)

Week 7 sees 6 different NFL teams go on bye, which includes a large amount of Dog League players that will now be unavailable. As such, lineups will be significantly weaker than normal, and you will see wholesale changes for several teams that essentially won't have a bench this week. In addition, you will now see more starters, as I have instituted a 3 starting receiver policy, in addition to the flex starting spot. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Growlers

Current Record: (1-5, 8th Place)

Week 6 meant another loss for Growlers, although they were competitive, putting almost 140 points in defeat. This week, they are missing Josh Allen, Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams, Emmanuel Sanders, and Dalton Schultz, and their spots are taken by Derek Carr, Cordarrelle Patterson, Allen Robinson, Calvin Ridely, and Tyler Higbee. In the flex, Growlers has brought back Damien Harris, who starts over the only member of the bench, Javonte Williams, and they get the Saints defense back from bye to take on the banged-up Seahawks offense.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Tug of War)

QB Derek Carr
RB Cordarrelle Patterson
RB Darrel Williams
WR Calvin Ridley
WR A.J. Brown
WR Allen Robinson
TE Tyler Higbee
RB Damien Harris
K Matt Gay
DEF New Orleans Saints

Canine Comets

Current Record: (1-5, 7th Place)

Canine Comets are battling through a tough period of the season, with Nick Chubb, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Chris Carson all out injured, devastating their once stout running back corps. Devontae Booker and Jamaal Williams failed to cut the mustard as starters last week, but the Comets have to stick with them, as the only other option, Alex Collins, is uncertain to play on Monday night. The Comets did have the opportunity to bring in two new players, utilizing the extra roster and dropping Mason Crosby to bring in Jaylen Waddle and Jakobi Meyers. Both new receivers join the starting lineup, although Meyers' spot could be under siege if Julio Jones can play this week.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Tailwaggerz)

QB Patrick Mahomes
RB Devontae Booker
RB Jamaal Williams
WR DK Metcalf
WR Chris Godwin
WR Jaylen Waddle
TE Travis Kelce
WR Jakobi Meyers
K Younghoe Koo
DEF Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tug of War

Current Record: (2-4, 6th Place)

Tug of War is rapidly sinking without a trace, now the lowest scoring team in the Dog League, and dealing with the absences of Amari Cooper, Chase Claypool, and Tyler Bass this week, in addition to injuries for Odell Beckham and Saquon Barkley. Tug of War brings Miles Sanders off their bench to start, and uses their extra roster spot to add Corey Davis, who gets the start over Beckham. The Washington defense was dropped to add Mason Crosby, Tug of War's starting kicker for the week, and now all they have left to deal with is Barkley. Right now, there isn't a backup for him, but if he's ruled out, Tug of War could drop Zack Moss to bring someone in.

UPDATE: Tug of War have added Jarvis Landry, dropping Zack Moss, to start in their flex this week.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Growlers)

QB Tom Brady
RB Aaron Jones
RB Miles Sanders
WR Marquise Brown
WR Tee Higgins
WR Corey Davis
TE Mike Gesicki
WR Jarvis Landry
K Mason Crosby
DEF Green Bay Packers

Leaping Girl

Current Record: (3-3, 5th Place)

Leaping Girl took a tough loss last week to Ridiculous Rascals in a game she desperately wanted to win, but she has an excellent chance to regroup this week, as she only loses Ezekiel Elliott on bye, and gets back Alvin Kamara. T.J. Hockenson is back in her starting lineup, and the Patriots defense have been added, getting a great chance to impress against the lowly Jets. For her extra roster spot, Leaping Girl brought in Kadarius Toney, who likely has no chance to play this week due to injury, but could offer some gigantic upside in the future if he can get healthy.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Bark Force)

QB Kyler Murray
RB Alvin Kamara
RB D'Andre Swift
WR DeAndre Hopkins
WR Mike Evans
WR Courtland Sutton
TE T.J. Hockenson
RB Josh Jacobs
K Ryan Succop
DEF New England Patriots

Ridiculous Rascals

Current Record: (4-2, 4th Place)

Rascal is starting to catch fire, as his 173 point outing against Leaping Girl constitutes the finest performance of his year, and the entirety of his starting lineup sticks together this week, ready to build on this three game winning streak. Rascal does need a new quarterback with Trevor Lawrence on bye and Baker Mayfield out injured, so he dropped Mayfield to add Matt Ryan, a dependable starter with a great matchup against the Dolphins defense upcoming. Rascal also had two roster spots to fill after sending Kareem Hunt to his reserve, and used them to add T.Y. Hilton and Pat Freiermuth, both of whom saw decent volume in their respective offenses last week, although neither is anywhere close to starting on this team.

UPDATE: With Darren Waller ruled out, Rascal has added Zach Ertz, who was dropped by Leaping Girl this morning, dropping Pat Friermuth, and will now start Ertz.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Rare Woofs)

QB Matt Ryan
RB Jonathan Taylor
RB Joe Mixon
WR Tyreek Hill
WR Ja'Marr Chase
WR Robert Woods
TE Zach Ertz
WR Brandin Cooks
K Justin Tucker
DEF Los Angeles Rams

Rare Woofs

Current Record: (4-2, 3rd Place)

Rare Woofs have impressively kept winning despite multiple injuries and absences from their running back corps, as new stars Leonard Fournette, Chuba Hubbard, and Khalil Herbert have emerged to carry the load, and the good times kept rolling for Rare Woofs in a dominant Week 6 win over the Comets. This week, they lose Justin Herbert, Stefon Diggs, and Justin Jefferson, but do get back Deebo Samuel, who finally gets to start, with Rare Woofs at last able to start their four great receivers. Joe Burrow and Tyler Lockett fill the other vacated starting spots, and Rare Woofs brings in Henry Ruggs, who could start over Khalil Herbert in the flex. To replace Greg Zuerlein and the Cowboys defense, Rare Woofs dropped Zuerlein and the Dolphins defense to bring in Matt Prater and the Panthers defense.

UPDATE: Damien Williams' return means Rare Woofs will bench Khalil Hebert for Henry Ruggs.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals)

QB Joe Burrow
RB Leonard Fournette
RB Chuba Hubbard
WR D.J. Moore
WR Deebo Samuel
WR Tyler Lockett
TE Mark Andrews
WR Henry Ruggs
K Matt Prater
DEF Carolina Panthers

Tailwaggerz

Current Record: (4-2, 2nd Place)

Tailwaggerz face serious danger this week, as Dak Prescott, Dalvin Cook, Najee Harris, Keenan Allen, and Adam Thielen all go on bye, leaving the team short-handed. Their biggest concern resides with Antonio Gibson, as he deals with calf and shin injuries, and Tailwaggerz don't have a backup if he can't play. They had to use their extra roster spot to add Tim Patrick, who starts in the flex, and that leaves an entire bench that is on bye. If Gibson can't play, Tailwaggerz would have to drop Dawson Knox to get a replacement, which would be the worst case scenario.

UPDATE: With Antonio Brown ruled out this week, Tailwaggerz has dropped Dawson Knox to add James Conner, who starts in the flex.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Canine Comets)

QB Matthew Stafford
RB Antonio Gibson
RB Melvin Gordon
WR Cooper Kupp
WR Terry McLaurin
WR Tim Patrick
TE Kyle Pitts
RB James Conner
K Harrison Butker
DEF Arizona Cardinals

Bark Force

Current Record: (5-1, 1st Place)

Bark Force notched up 173 points in an easy win over Tug of War last week to maintain their stranglehold on first place, but now stares down bye weeks, as James Robinson and CeeDee Lamb aren't available. Sterling Shepard gets Lamb's spot, while the flex will be filled by D'Ernest Johnson, the young tailback filling in for Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in Cleveland. Coming off their impressive performance against the Chargers, Bark Force will start the Ravens defense over the Broncos defense for this week.

UPDATE: With Sterling Shepard ruled out, Bark Force will take a flier on Darius Slayton, dropping Jared Cook and making Slayton their WR3 this week.

Week 7 Starting Lineup(vs Leaping Girl)

QB Lamar Jackson
RB Derrick Henry
RB Darrell Henderson
WR Davante Adams
WR DeVonta Smith
WR Darius Slayton
TE Ricky Seals-Jones
RB D'Ernest Johnson
K Daniel Carlson
DEF Baltimore Ravens

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
