It's been a competition like no other, and after two months and fourteen eliminations, it all comes down to this. Seth Rollins. Cesaro. One walks out with the championship, and the other walks out with nothing at all. It's time to crown a new NXT Champion.
Charlotte vs Mickie James
A lot of trash talk from Charlotte to open this match, as she showed no respect to the veteran Mickie James. Mickie was a lot less brazen, choosing to wait for opportunities to strike, just surviving the onslaught of offense from Charlotte. James hit her biggest move of the match when she turned a powerbomb into a hurricanrana, sending Charlotte to the floor. But a veteran move from the "Queen of NXT" turned the tides, as Charlotte caught Mickie with a massive big boot on the outside. She rolled James back into the ring, working on the legs and looking to end it....
Winner: Charlotte
Finish: Figure 8 Leglock
Breezango vs The Revival
For a good portion of this match, certainly more than most of us could've expected, Tyler Breeze and Fandango looked like serious contenders. They seemed to work extremely well as a team, continuing to break up pins and save each other from danger, while Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder got more and more frustrated. In the end, though, they cause their own downfall, as while Fandango tried to get involved, Wilder used a poke to the eye to avoid a DDT from Breeze. In a second, it was over....
Winners: The Revival
Finish: Northern Lights Suplex(from Wilder on Breeze)
Cesaro vs Seth Rollins- NXT Championship Match
Even during his entrance, you could tell Seth Rollins was in a lot of trouble. He had a lot of difficulty just getting over the top rope into the ring, and many fans in Full Sail began to wonder how he was even cleared to compete. If there was any wonder about Cesaro's stance on all this, it was cleared up quickly, as he immediately delivered a big dropkick to Rollins, moments after the opening bell. A series of uppercuts then followed, and the Sharpshooter was locked in! Despite being in a bad state, Seth was right next to the ropes, and was able to break the hold. The official then stepped in, asking Rollins if he should end the match by stoppage, crowning Cesaro the champion. Seth tried to get back in it, hitting Cesaro with a nice DDT before locking in a headlock. Cesaro quickly powered out, and went low, kicking Rollins right in the injured knee, drawing audible groans from the crowd. The ref tried ti step in again, intent on calling it off, but Rollins somehow got back to his feet, determined to take his end with grace....
Winner and the NEW NXT Champion: Cesaro
Finish: Neutralizer
In a matter of minutes, Cesaro dispatches of Seth Rollins to lay claim to his first NXT Championship. Certainly, questions have to be asked of the doctors that cleared Rollins to take part in this match, as he was nowhere near ready to compete. Moments after the final bell, it was announced that NXT Owner Triple H will open the next episode of NXT to address tonight's events. For now, though, Cesaro celebrated reaching the top of the mountain to end this episode of The Revolution.
