Henry's Universe Mode #45: NXT

Today on NXT, the main event features an NXT Arrival rematch, as Samoa Joe faces AJ Styles in an Extreme Rules Match, where anything and everything is legal. The winner of that match will become the new number one contender, and be receiving a NXT Title Match in the near future. Also, Pentagon Jr and Paige put their titles on the line and more!

Paige(c) vs Charlotte- NXT Women's Title Match

Following her victory over Paige last week, many assumed Sasha Banks would have earned a title shot. However, Paige chose to put her title on the line against Charlotte, oddly enough. Charlotte definitely did not deserve this opportunity, but Paige gave her title shot, with many fans believing Paige was dodging Sasha. Charlotte was not going to let the chance pass her by, and nearly won it early, countering the Ram-Paige and connecting with Natural Selection for a close two count. Charlotte came close to winning the match several times, but made a crucial mistake, missing on a splash from the second rope. Paige locked in the PTO, and that was that, as the champion got an easy defense, potentially dodging a tougher challenge.

Winner and still NXT Women's Champion: Paige

Hideo Itami vs Baron Corbin

Both Hideo Itami and Baron Corbin were looking for momentum as they squared off on this episode of NXT. Corbin's strength and power are a deadly combination, and Itami was assaulted with both, being tossed around the ring. Itami refused to give up, staying in the match despite seeming to be against overwhelming odds, using his speed to avoid making a fatal mistake. Itami's perseverance led to an opening, as Corbin grew frustrated, and Itami capitalized, turning the Lone Wolf's lights out with a devastating Shotgun Kick for the victory.

Winner: Hideo Itami

Pentagon Jr(c) vs Apollo Crews- NXT Television Title Match

Crews had just wrestled his debut match the previous week, and was put into a big test, as he took on the unpinned NXT Television Champion Pentagon Junior. Crews showed off his impressive strength and athleticism in the early going, and the champ was forced to retreat to the outside of the ring. This was his domain, and he took out the challenger with ease, before deciding that he hadn't done enough damage, spearing Crews through the barricade. The challenger showed fight, but from then on the match was all but over. When the champion debuted a new move, the Pentagon Driver, that was enough to collect another title defense.

Winner and still NXT Television Champion: Pentagon Jr

The Balor Club vs Enzo and Big Cass- NXT Tag Team Titles #1 Contender's Match

The Balor Club faced the former champions, Enzo and Big Cass, with the winner earning a title match against American Alpha, next week on NXT. Gallows and Anderson withstood an early flurry from Cass, and nearly had the match won, as Enzo just kicked out of the Magic Killer. Anderson and Gallows continued to dominate the contest, isolating Enzo and forcing Cass to watch from the apron. They nearly won it again, connecting with another Magic Killer, but this time Cass broke up the pinfall. Enzo got back into it, and nearly had it won off a back suplex off the top rope, but Anderson just kicked out. Anderson and Gallows used excellent tagging to connect with the Magic Killer for the third time, but again Cass was there to break it up. The two teams went back and forth, trading near fall after near fall, with the match looking like it would never end. Finally, the Magic Killer connected on Enzo for the fourth time, and Gallows covered him for the win, and a title shot next week.

Winners: The Balor Club

Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles- Extreme Rules Match

It didn't take long for the weapons to come out, with both men walloping each other with kendo sticks, baseball bats and tables. Joe risked life and limb, putting Styles through a table on the outside with an insane suicide dive. Styles took the fight right to Joe, smacking him with steel chairs over and over again. Joe countered back with a fury, putting Styles through the announce table with a Samoan Driver. Once the two got back into the ring, Styles outwrestled and outpaced Joe, clearly back in his element. Styles locked in the Calf Crusher, and kept the hold in tight for minutes on end, but eventually Joe managed to power out and prolong the match. They brawled all over the arena, and Joe nearly put Styles away with a Muscle Buster onto a steel chair, but Styles showed his heart and kicked out. Styles then caught Joe with a Styles Clash, but Joe astonishingly got back to his feet. Styles connected with another Styles Clash, and yet again Joe got back to his feet. A third Styles Clash was finally enough to keep the monster down. After the match, as Styles celebrated, Joe was carried out on a stretcher, clearly in a bad way. Who knows when we will next hear from the Samoan Submission Machine, but he'll certainly be looking for vengeance.

Winner: AJ Styles

That's it for NXT, stay tuned for Smackdown.

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
