Henry's Universe Mode #108: Main Event

Tonight, it's the final stop before the Royal Rumble. Perhaps more importantly, though, is the semi-finals of the Cruiserweight Classic. Group B winner Rich Swann faces TJ Perkins, and Group A winner Kota Ibushi takes on Cedric Alexander. Plus, it's another Royal Rumble preview in the main event as Raw faces SmackDown.

Rich Swann vs TJ Perkins- Cruiserweight Classic Semi-Finals Match

Despite winning Group B, Rich Swann was viewed as the underdog heading into this match, and would have to work hard to prove the doubters wrong. Unfortunately, Perkins was just better on this night. Swann had one chance, one opportunity to turn things around, but whiffed on the 450 Splash. Perkins saw his chance, locking in the TJP Clutch and advancing to the finals of the CWC.

Winner: TJ Perkins

Kota Ibushi vs Cedric Alexander- Cruiserweight Classic Semi-Finals Match

The undefeated Kota Ibushi was heavily favored to advance, with Cedric Alexander viewed as nothing more than a stepping stone. Right away, though, Cedric came out firing, taking Ibushi by surprise. For the first time in the CWC, the Golden Star was in trouble, and Cedric Alexander was rolling, executing aerial maneuvers and launching devastating strikes. But in the biggest moment, it was Ibushi who shined, countering the Lumbar Check before climbing to the top rope for a Phoenix Splash, and it was all over. Despite a heroic effort, Cedric Alexander came up just short. Ibushi paid respect to Alexander's effort with a handshake, while the fans cheered his resilience.

Winner: Kota Ibushi

Team Raw(Samoa Joe, Mark Henry and Stardust) vs Team SmackDown(Shinsuke Nakamura, Fandango and Cesaro)- Royal Rumble Preview

With six of the competitors involved in this Sunday's Rumble in this match, you knew it was going to be a very tense affair. Nakamura and Joe, the first two confirmed entrants in the Royal Rumble, went right at it of the start, and would engage for most of the match. Mark Henry and Cesaro had a bit of a war going on, each man trying to out-power the other, while Fandango and Stardust tried to avoid taking too much punishment. In the end, it was SmackDown that would gain momentum, Cesaro pinning Stardust with a Neutralizer.

Winners: Team SmackDown

That's it for Main Event. Tune in on both Saturday for the Royal Rumble, which will be split into three parts, the final one being the match itself. Also, don't forget that next week on Main Event is the finals in the Cruiserweight Classic, as Kota Ibushi faces TJ Perkins to become the first Cruiserweight Champion.

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
