Henry's Universe Mode #124: SmackDown

Following the events of Raw, GMs Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan made a statement earlier today. If any of the four men involved in Fastlane's main event refuse to participate or try to sabotage the event, they will lose their world title privileges. For Shawn Michaels and Samoa Joe, that means that they would no longer challenge at WrestleMania. And for AJ Styles and Goldberg, they would be forced to vacate their respective title. On this edition of SmackDown, Jason Jordan looks for revenge as he faces Luke Gallows. And in the main event, Paige takes on Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women's Title. Universe Mode SmackDown February 28th, 2017 Location: Sacramento, CA Grudge Match for Fastlane We opened up SmackDown with a graphic promoting the latest signed match for Fastlane, which will see Tyler Breeze and Fandango finally square off. Henry's Universe Mode #123: Raw

With Fastlane just six days away, Raw has been busy, signing three big matches for the event. After delivering a F-5 last week to close the show, Brock Lesnar will face Mark Henry this Sunday. Will the Hall of Pain pay a visit to Suplex City? Sasha Banks earned her title shot last week, but has chosen to wait for the grand stage of WrestleMania to challenge for the belt. Asuka, who defeated the champion last week, has been granted a title match at Fastlane. Finally, after defeating the champs in their debut match, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will face Itami and Balor for the tag titles this Sunday. On this edition of Raw, Samoa Joe and Goldberg will attempt to do what AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels did on SmackDown, as they meet Itami and Balor in the main event. Henry's Universe Mode #122: Main Event

Tonight is a big night for Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins, as he looks to make the first defense of his title against Will Ospreay, who won a battle royal on the last episode of Main Event. Hanging over this title match is the shadow of the King of the Cruiserweights, Neville, who defeated TJ at Elimination Chamber. Also, Alberto Del Rio looks for another win, and a fatal four way features Raw and SmackDown's women's divisions. Universe Mode Main Event February 22nd, 2017 Location: Minneapolis, MN Summer Rae vs Tamina vs Brie Bella vs Emma All four of these women were desperate for a win and some momentum, and this match was all out from the beginning. Tamina used her strength and power to toss Brie Bella around, while Emma and Summer Rae brawled on the outside of the ring. Brie managed to just survive everything Tamina dished out, connecting on a running Bella Buster to get the three count. Winner: Brie Bella Alberto Del Rio vs Shinsuke Nakamura Me

Henry's Universe Mode #121: SmackDown

With Fastlane approaching, tonight SmackDown will see a huge main event, as AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels will look to get on the same page, as they face American Alpha. Earlier this week, Randy Orton challenged Baron Corbin to an Intercontinental Title match at Fastlane. How will Corbin respond? Natalya vs Becky Lynch, The Club's SmackDown debut and more! Universe Mode SmackDown February 21st, 2017 Location: Oklahoma City, OK Prime Time Players vs The Club Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson made a big impact at Elimination Chamber, helping AJ Styles retain his WWE Title against The Rock. They have now been signed to SmackDown, and made their debut on the blue brand against the red hot Prime Time Players. The magical run of Darren Young and Titus O'Neil met a brick wall, as Gallows and Anderson proved how good they are. A Magic Killer to Titus was enough for a relatively easy win. Winners: The Club Sheamus vs Fandango This was certainly a clash of styles, a

Henry's Universe Mode #120: Raw

With Fastlane just under two weeks away, we have a big night in store here on Raw. Sasha Banks looks to earn another title shot, the tag champs are in non-title action and in the main event, for the first time since winning the Royal Rumble, Samoa Joe is in action when he faces Mark Henry. Universe Mode Monday Night Raw February 20th, 2017 Location: Anchorage, AK Itami and Balor vs #DIY The tag champs were in action to open Raw, and their opponents were the debuting Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, #DIY. The debutants held nothing back, going straight after Itami and Balor, who were caught off guard. Both Ciampa and Gargano showed off impressive offense, keeping the champs on their heels. Balor whiffed on the Coup de Grace, and Gargano locked in the Gargano Escape for a huge debut win, catapulting #DIY to the top of the Raw tag team division. Winners: #DIY Roman Reigns vs Alberto Del Rio Roman Reigns made his return to Raw after that hellacious Falls Count

Behind the Universe #2: Elimination Chamber Fallout

In the second episode of Behind the Universe, I talk fallout from Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania plans and one of the greatest matches in Henry's Universe Mode history. Warning: The following is done completely out of character and out of kayfabe. Because of this, there will be massive spoilers up ahead. Just looking out. My Thoughts - I was a little nervous heading in, but Elimination Chamber turned out to be a pretty great event. The two Chamber matches were very fun to write, and then there was that triple threat SmackDown Women's Title match. - Let's talk about that match for a second. Never in my wildest dreams did I see that one coming. Paige's ridiculous run as champ finally came to an end at the hands of Alexa Bliss, in one hell of grueling match. Just for comparisons, that match clocked in at just over 22 minutes. The two Chamber matches finished between 16-18 minutes each. Just amazing.  - Overall, I feel the Road to WrestleMania i

Henry's Universe Mode: The Road to WrestleMania Continues

Note: there will be no Universe Mode content this week, as I'm clearing up rosters, updating my wiki and preparing for WrestleMania. From the Desk of GMs Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan: On the Road to WrestleMania, it is more important than ever to keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. And that is why we are excited to announce that at the final pay-per-view before the grand stage of WrestleMania, Fastlane, Raw and SmackDown will showcase a massive main event tag team match. World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg will team with Royal Rumble winner Samoa Joe to face WWE Champion AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels. The winning team will receive a massive reward, as their world title match will main event WrestleMania. Who will put their differences aside to work towards a common goal? We will find out on Sunday, March 5 at Fastlane.

Elimination Chamber 2017 Recap

As I've stated multiple times on this blog, plenty of shows are either saved or doomed by their main event. In theory, every match on the card is a building block, an appetizer, for the entree at the end. And if you end up giving your customers sh** for their entree, they're probably not going to be pleased. So............................................yeah, the Chamber match was pretty good. - I don't know where I was going with that intro. I also don't know where SmackDown is heading with this Becky Lynch-Mickie James program. It was a strange decision to have this match end on a roll-up, though the rest of the bout was fine. - SmackDown has not figured out heel Dolph Ziggler yet. This whole match felt like a waste of time, and the fans cheering Ziggler for trying to injure Apollo afterwards tells you everything you need to know. - I expressed my distaste for the blue brand's tag division during my predictions for the show, but even I couldn't hav

Henry's Universe Mode #119: Elimination Chamber(Part 2)

Part 2 sees Gallows and Anderson face the tag champs, The Rock challenges for the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Title on the line inside the Elimination Chamber. Itami and Balor vs The Club Gallows and Anderson were impressive down in NXT, but they may have bit off more than they could chew by targeting Itami and their former leader, Finn Balor. The power of Gallows and Anderson is well documented, but the World Tag Team Champions stayed one step ahead the whole way. An assisted double foot stomp to Anderson followed by a Coup de Grace put the Machine Gun away. Winners: Itami and Balor AJ Styles(c) vs The Rock- WWE Title Match This was a true dream match, as AJ Styles defended his WWE Title against the Great One. Straight away, you could tell The Rock was in the champ's head after pinning Styles on the last episode of SmackDown. AJ clearly wasn't at his best, and nearly paid for it, as The Rock connected on an early Rock Bottom for a two count. The Phenome

16 feet in diameter. 2 miles of solid, unforgiving steel. Tonight, 12 men will enter, and their lives will change forever. For some there will be victory, triumph, glory. For others, there will be only be the darkness of defeat, and the scars that only a warrior will bear. The most dangerous structure known to man will punish all those who dare to enter it. Only the strongest will survive. And now, Raw and SmackDown present......................Elimination Chamber! Jericho looked surprised to see Zayn, and it showed early on, as Sami out-wrestled the champion. Chris Jericho is as crafty as it gets, and he slowed the pace of the match down. Looking to prove his US Title win wasn't as a result of Kevin Owens' attack, Je

My Elimination Chamber Predictions

This went pretty well last month, so my predictions for WWE pay-per-views will probably become a regular feature. With that, let's move on to this Sunday's event: Elimination Chamber. Pre-Show- Mojo Rawley vs Curt Hawkins My Prediction: Mojo Rawley Apparently this is a match that is happening. Randy Orton vs Luke Harper My Prediction: Luke Harper shocks the world This probably won't happen, but can you imagine the reaction Harper would get if he won? He's been over since his face turn, and a win here could help SmackDown get an extremely over babyface. Dolph Ziggler vs Apollo Crews and Kalisto My Prediction: The Show-Off defies the odds Man, I really thought Ziggler's heel turn was going to push him to the top, but he's not done much yet. Some good heeling here could give Dolph a big win and some nice momentum. Mickie James vs Becky Lynch My Prediction: Mickie and Alexa stay one step ahead Mickie James could use a win here to solid

Henry's Universe Mode #117: Main Event

Last week, after TJ Perkins was crowned the first Cruiserweight Champion, he was subjected to a brutal assault from Neville. Tonight, the Man That Gravity Forgot will address his actions, and plans to call out the champion. In our main event, six top cruiserweights, including debutants Ricochet and Will Ospreay, will fight it out for a future title shot. All that and more here on Main Event! Universe Mode Main Event February 8th, 2017 Location: Kansas City, KS Neville Promo Neville made his way to the ring to open Main Event, mic in hand. He quickly started running his mouth, claiming that he is the King of the Cruiserweights, and had he been in the Cruiserweight Classic, he would've won the whole thing. Perkins was not going to sit back and take this, coming out to the ring to exchange verbal barbs. Eventually, it was agreed that the two men would meet at Elimination Chamber in a non-title match. Neville then tried to jump the champ, but TJ saw it coming and dro

Henry's Universe Mode #116: SmackDown

Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze and Braun Strowman are all confirmed for SmackDown's Elimination Chamber Match, where the winner will face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania. Tonight, we will confirm the final three participants in that match. We have Shinsuke Nakamura facing Apollo Crews, Shawn Michaels and Dolph Ziggler and a Wild Card fatal four-way. Plus, in the main event, AJ Styles and The Rock face off in a tag match, just days before their WWE Title Match this Sunday. Universe Mode SmackDown February 7th, 2017 Location: Dallas, TX Big Show vs Kane vs Sheamus vs Fandango- Elimination Chamber Qualification Match This was a Wild Card match, with the winner being the fourth man to clinch their spot in the Chamber. Big Show went straight after Fandango, leaving Kane and Sheamus in the ring. As the match continued, it was clear that there were some serious issues between Big Show and Fandango, the two men beating the hell out of each other. Kane took advantage, hitting

Henry's Universe Mode #115: Raw

I'm opening this post by clearing up a mistake: last week, I said that Elimination Chamber, the next pay-per-view would take place on February 19th. I meant the 12th, the same day as the real life Chamber pay-per-view, meaning we are just six days away. Tonight is the final stop before Elimination Chamber. Who will join champion Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins to fight for the World Heavyweight Title? Also, Dean Ambrose addresses his assault on The Undertaker, the tag champs are in action and more! Universe Mode Monday Night Raw February 6th, 2017 Location: Houston, TX Dean Ambrose Promo The Lunatic Fringe opened this edition of Raw, addressing his actions last week. Ambrose went on a rant, blaming the fans for his failure at the Royal Rumble. If he hadn't been distracted by the fans, he would've won the whole thing and be headlining WrestleMania by now. Dean Ambrose is tired of being overlooked, tired of being second best. The Undertaker was j

Henry's Universe Mode #114: Main Event

Tonight on Main Event, we crown the first ever Cruiserweight Champion, as TJ Perkins and Kota Ibushi meet in a rematch of the first CWC match. Four previously eliminated cruiserweights face off, as Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann team up to face Brian Kendrick and Drew Gulak. And Tye Dillinger, who debuted in the Royal Rumble, takes on Raw's Alberto Del Rio. Universe Mode Main Event February 1st, 2017 Location: Seattle, WA Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander vs Brian Kendrick and Drew Gulak Swann and Alexander were semi-finalists in the CWC for a good reason, as they showed in this tag match. The brutality of Kendrick and Gulak simply wasn't enough, a 450 Splash from Swann to Gulak sealing the deal. Winners: Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander Alberto Del Rio vs Tye Dillinger The Perfect Ten, Tye Dillinger, had all the fan support going up against Alberto Del Rio. Unfortunately, the veteran Del Rio picked the newcomer apart with vicious, methodical offense. Di

Henry's Universe Mode #113: SmackDown

I'd like to open this post by sending well wishes to Seth Rollins, who appears to have re-injured his knee on Raw this past Monday. I've made it no secret that I'm a massive fan of the guy, and hopefully this isn't serious, and he isn't forced to miss a second WrestleMania in a row. SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan made a curious announcement, when he said that the WWE Title would not be on the line in the Elimination Chamber. Instead, SmackDown's Chamber match will be for number one contendership, and former champ Tyler Breeze is already confirmed for the match. AJ Styles will be defending the WWE Title at the event, in a one on one match against......The Rock! The Rock did not get a chance to qualify for the Royal Rumble, so Bryan has offered the Great One a title match. Tonight on SmackDown, we will see two qualifiers for the Elimination Chamber, as the new Intercontinental Champion Baron Corbin takes on the unbeaten Braun Strowman, and former tag partners face o
