NHL 15: Philly Flyers Regular Season Part 2(Year 1)

We finish up season 1 in this post, enjoy!

With just a couple months left in the year, we just needed to get the games over and done with and end season 1. A couple weeks after the deadline, we picked up Dana Tyrell off of waivers. He's a pretty good depth player, and ended up taking over the 4th line, moving Ryan White up to the 3rd and Scott Laughton back down to the minors.

We finished the season just under .500 in terms of regulation wins and losses, with a record of 35-36-11, good for 81 points. All in all, not a terrible season given how many players we traded away. We scored 202 goals, and allowed 206. We finished ranked 13th in the overall power rankings, which seems a little high. We finished seventh in our division, 11 points out of a playoff spot. Here are the team leaders:

Goals: Brayden Schenn, 33
Assists: Claude Giroux, 41
Plus-Minus: Wayne Simmons, +20
PIMS: Zac Rinaldo, 151 minutes
Wins: Steve Mason, 31

Again, not the worst year. It could have been better, but we don't have a great team. Hopefully we get good offseason progression to help make next year a playoff year. We weren't bit by the injury bug very much, but we did end the season with both Claude Giroux and Michael Del Zotto out for multiple months, so we can thank our lucky stars that happened at the end of the year.

Below is a link to a spreadsheet containing the stats for the year.

Thanks for reading! Next time, we go into the offseason for the very first time!

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

Rules -Each brand will have five draft picks, ten picks total. -Champions are not eligible to be drafted. -Tag teams/stables can be drafted as a unit or individuals, depending on what the GM wants and what the wrestler wants. -Thanks to winning Brand Warfare, SmackDown will get the first pick, while Raw will get the last pick. The 2017 WWE Draft begins..........right now! Pick #1- SmackDown selects Brock Lesnar What a way to start of the draft, as the Beast Incarnate in heading to Tuesday Nights. Since losing to Samoa Joe a few weeks ago on Raw, we haven't seen anything from Brock Lesnar. This move will certainly have most of the SmackDown roster looking over their shoulder. ...

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
