Tyler Breeze Promo
The new WWE Champion came out to open SmackDown, arrogant as ever. He showed off his new belt, before calling out his tag team partner, Fandango. Although Breeze had shown no interest in their team over the past few weeks, Fandango tried his best to talk Tyler out of breaking the team up. However, the champ ignored his pleas, telling Fandango in no uncertain terms to get the hell of out of his ring. Fandango snapped, unleashing on Breeze with rights and lefts, forcing Prince Pretty to retreat up the ramp. All in all, not a good first night for the new champ.
The Miz and Dolph Ziggler vs The Vaudevillains- Royal Rumble Qualification Match
The new pairing of the Awesome Show-Offs, as they called themselves, looked to punch their tickets to the Royal Rumble against Aiden English and Simon Gotch. English and Gotch had a very impressive outing, but ultimately fell short when Ziggler connected with a Superkick on English.
After the match, The Miz and Ziggler didn't have long to celebrate their win as Baron Corbin hit the ring. An enraged Lone Wolf took out Dolph with another End of Days, before staring down a retreating Miz and his Intercontinental Title.
Winners: The Awesome Show-Offs
The Game Gets A Second Chance
Although he lost to Shinsuke Nakamura in a Royal Rumble Qualifier, SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan has given Triple H a second chance to enter the Rumble. That is, if he can find a tag team partner to take on the Prime Time Players.
Dana Brooke vs Alexa Bliss
Emma's new tag team partner, the dangerous Dana Brooke, got a big opportunity to prove herself in this match against the former protege of Emma in Alexa Bliss. Alexa looked motivated to prove to Emma that she had made the wrong choice, and Dana just got overwhelmed. In the end, it was an easy win for Alexa with a Twisted Bliss.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
The Social Outcasts vs Kane and The Ascension- Royal Rumble Qualification Match
The trio of Bo Dallas, Heath Slater and Curtis Axel looked to get back on the right path, but Kane and The Ascension stood in their way. Before the match could even begin, the monstrous Braun Strowman got involved, taking down all six men. Kane got in Strowman's face, and they brawled to the back, leaving The Ascension at a numbers disadvantage. The Outcasts were determined to get the win, and worked well as a unit, using the 3 on 2 advantage. Bo got the win for his team with a vicious neckbreaker to Konnor, putting all three of the Social Outcasts in the Royal Rumble.
Winners: The Social Outcasts
Big Match Scheduled For Next Week
Next week, in the main event of SmackDown, we will see Tyson Kidd and AJ Styles square off one more time, with the winner earning the first chance to dethrone Tyler Breeze. Who will head to the Royal Rumble for a collision with Prince Pretty?
Cesaro vs Randy Orton- No Holds Barred
GM Daniel Bryan upped the stakes for this match by announcing that the winner would also receive a Royal Rumble spot. However, both of these men cared more about destroying the other than anything else, and they went at it right for the ring of the bell. It was a brutal, vicious affair right from the very start, not at all for the weak at heart. The Swiss Superman was coming off of months of frustration, and he unleashed it all on Randy Orton, battering Orton from post to post. Orton just never seemed to have a real chance of winning, as Cesaro was just more motivated. Orton did kick out of a vicious Neutralizer onto a steel chair, and The Viper looked ready to strike. The RKO failed to connect, though, and Cesaro took his chance, connecting on two more Neutralizers to finally put this feud to bed. The Swiss Superman proves how good he is, and all the competitors in the Royal Rumble will certainly be in even more danger.
Winner: Cesaro
We now know thirteen of the thirty participants in the Royal Rumble. Stay tuned for more, as the Road to Wrestlemania draws ever closer.
