Welcome to the third and final part of Summerslam. In the final two matches in Henry's Universe Mode history, Samoa Joe faces The Undertaker and AJ Styles battles Cesaro and John Cena.
Samoa Joe(c) vs The Undertaker- Universal Championship Match
These powerhouses, giants of the industry squared off in our semi main event, and put on a match for the ages. From the beginning, you could tell that this was something more than any championship match. This was a passing of the torch, if you will, as Samoa Joe proved time and time again he could hang with The Undertaker. The Phenom pulled everything out of the playbook, including a suicide dive and a brutal DDT to the apron, but he could never keep Joe down. A Tombstone couldn't put the match away, and a second followed by the Hell's Gate submission hold wasn't enough either. The Samoan Submission Machine simply refused to lose, and even with blood pouring down his face, was not going to give up. Samoa Joe was simply unstoppable on this night, and even when The Undertaker escaped the Coquina Clutch, he managed to lock in the hold again. Finally, the Deadman was out, and Samoa Joe scored perhaps the biggest win of his career.
Winner and still Universal Champion: Samoa Joe
AJ Styles(c) vs Cesaro vs John Cena- WWE Championship Match
Three of the very best collided in Summerslam's main event, and they were all on peak form in this contest. They all brought something to the table, with AJ's impressive physical ability, Cesaro's incredible strength and John Cena's undying tenacity. The WWE Champion would take control early, using mind games to school both of his challengers. Quickly, Cena and Cesaro teamed up, taking out Styles to give each other a chance. They then picked up where they left on SmackDown a few weeks ago, but it would be short-lived, as AJ re-entered the fray. All three men then traded a series of near falls, each one closer to the last as big moves failed time and again. In an act of defiance, AJ elected to bring in as many weapons as possible, trying to use them as equalizers. This plan would backfire, as he would be laid out with said weapons, leaving just Cena and Cesaro in the ring once more. The Swiss Superman, looking for another win in Summerslam's main event, unloaded on John Cena with every power move in the book, but even a Neutralizer wouldn't be enough. The Face That Runs the Place, desperate for his first world championship in Henry's Universe Mode, was just a little too much for even Cesaro to handle. Two Attitude Adjustments, including one from the top rope, were enough to put the King of Swing down, as Styles was just too late to break up the pin. A new WWE Champion was crowned as Summerslam came to an end.
Winner and the NEW WWE Champion: John Cena
No words can truly explain how grateful I am for everything Henry's Universe Mode has become. It's safe to say I never predicted how big of a deal this series would be, and I owe it all to every single person that has read one of these posts. I started this series in January 2016, and a year and a half later, it has come to an end. I'm excited for what the future holds, and I think everyone that enjoyed Henry's Universe Mode will love what I have planned. I've grown so much as a blogger of the course of writing these posts, and it's meant the world to me that I've had readers throughout. For the final time, I thank you for reading this edition of Henry's Universe Mode. I'll see you next time, when the revolution begins.
