Rare Woofs turns on the heat in Week 13 as they close in on their first regular season title. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)
Game 1: Tug of War vs Rare Woofs
Tug of War rolled into this game on a four game winning streak, but Thanksgiving Day games immediately gave them issues, as Michael Thomas(10.8 points) and the Bears defense(5 points) massively underperformed. Things didn't improve massively on Sunday, as despite another great game from Derrick Henry(23.6 points), extremely disappointing numbers from Chris Godwin(9 points) and Zach Ertz(5.4 points) would doom Tug of War. Davante Adams(24.4 points) continued to electrify following his return from injury, while spot starter Tyler Boyd(16.9 points) put forth a solid effort. Every Rare Woofs starter passed double digit scoring, and although Cooper Kupp(18.5 points) got back to his best, Julian Edelman(21.9 points) ended the game on Sunday night to clinch the regular season title. The only real concern for Rare Woofs was the shoulder injury to Dalvin Cook(13.4 points), who will of course be a vital part of their playoff run.
Final: Tug of War(107.06) - Rare Woofs(142.52)
Game 2: Tailwaggerz vs Leaping Girl
With Rare Woofs getting their win, Leaping Girl was no longer playing for anything but pride, and it showed. Only Lamar Jackson(22.3 points) came to play in a week where Emma was absolutely dreadful, getting an underwhelming game from Mike Evans(9.3 points) and D.J. Chark(6.7 points), before hitting rock bottom with George Kittle(3.4 points) and Zane Gonzalez(1 point). All this terrible scoring particularly stung after her bench exploded, with DeVante Parker(34.9 points), Devin Singletary(19.1 points) and Keenan Allen(18.8 points) provided the scoring she could've used to win this game. Tailwaggerz wasn't significantly better, but at least didn't have any player massively disappoint. The highlight was the late decision to start Miles Sanders(21.5 points), though leaving Deshaun Watson(28.86 points) on the bench proved to be a massive mistake. Regardless, Tailwaggerz ended their slump and clinched a playoff spot, as they head into the final week of the year.
Final: Tailwaggerz(105.94) - Leaping Girl(86.3)
Game 3: Bark Force vs Ridiculous Rascals
A win would keep Rascal in the playoff hunt, and his team kept up the momentum from last week. Aaron Rodgers(28.12 points), Ezekiel Elliott(20.7 points), injury replacement Calvin Ridley(17.1 points), Darren Waller(17 points) and the Steelers defense(18 points) joined up to put the kind of scoring Rascal has lacked all year. This was an extremely impressive performance, marred only slightly by the horrible day of spot starter Jonathan Williams(3.5 points). For Bark Force, inconsistency was the theme, as D.J. Moore(19.2 points) and the Rams defense(23 points) were both stellar, but Aaron Jones(7.1 points) and Hunter Henry(3 points) struggled mightily. Tyler Lockett had the chance to make a comeback, but laid a goose egg(0 points), leaving Bark Force to take their tenth loss of the year, by far the worst performance of any team in Dog League history. Rascal moves on to face Tug of War in the final game of the year, with the winner clinching a playoff spot and the loser heading to the fifth place game.
Final: Bark Force(104.34) - Ridiculous Rascals(142.02)
