The Dog League: Week 14 Review(2019 Season)

Tug of War and Rascal compete for a playoff spot while Bark Force finally puts together a great effort in the final week of the regular season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Game 1: Leaping Girl vs Rare Woofs

We start out with the most meaningless game, as first place Rare Woofs faced second place Leaping Girl with the regular season title already decided. Both teams rotated players, and it was the decision to start Kyle Rudolph(3.1 points), as well as early injuries to Mike Evans(13.1 points) and DeVante Parker(4.8 points) that cost Emma. Austin Ekeler(31.3 points) got her back in it, but Rare Woofs leading scorer Christian McCaffrey(24.5 points) and spot starters Kenny Golladay(17.8 points) and Devonta Freeman(19.4 points) led the way to victory. Carson Wentz(19.9 points) finished it off on Monday night, as Rare Woofs claimed their twelfth win of the year, heading into the playoffs with all the momentum in the world.

Final: Leaping Girl(126.2) - Rare Woofs(147.2)

Game 2: Bark Force vs Tailwaggerz

Completely eliminated from contention and without much to play for, Bark Force finally showed up in Week 14, with Aaron Jones(31.2 points), DeAndre Hopkins(26.2 points) and Todd Gurley(21.3 points) leading the way. Tailwaggerz could've clinched the three seed with a win, and Deshaun Watson(28.08 points) and Jared Cook(20.4 points) continued their great performances. But Cook went down in the first half with a concussion, and big names Alvin Kamara(6.3 points) and Odell Beckham(5.9 points) were non-factors in an embarrassing loss. Tailwaggerz will need to get healthy in a hurry, with injuries to Cook and Evan Engram at tight end, and T.Y. Hilton, Josh Jacobs and Derrius Guice(now out for the year) all dealing with various issues on the bench.

Final: Bark Force(149.32) - Tailwaggerz(115.68)

Game 3: Tug of War vs Ridiculous Rascals

In the biggest game of the week, Tug of War faced off with Rascal in a do-or-die matchup, with the winner heading to the playoffs and the loser heading to the fifth place game. Ezekiel Elliott(23.3 points) got Rascal off to a hot start, which was continued by the best game of the year from Joe Mixon(27.6 points). But that was traded off by a quiet game from Courtland Sutton(8.4 points) while new acquisition Matt Prater(0 points) was a complete bust. A massive effort from Michael Thomas(30.4 points) got Tug of War back in it, and their top running back Derrick Henry(23.9 points) just barely outdueled Rascal's Steelers defense(23 points). Rascal was now out of players, and held an 18 point lead. Greg Zuerlein(3 points) failed to get much done on Sunday night, and gave Rascal a small chance to survive for the win. Saquon Barkley(9.7 points) struggled against a tough Eagles run defense, and as Monday night's game wore on, Rascal was just about holding a lead. But when Tug of War needed a hero, a big tight end from Stanford answered the call. Zach Ertz(30.1 points) blew the fantasy game wide open, got Philadelphia a win in real life, and ended Rascal's season in bitterly disappointing fashion. Tug of War will now be the third seed and face Leaping Girl in the first round of the playoffs, bumping Tailwaggerz down to the fourth spot to draw Rare Woofs.

Final: Tug of War(153.96) - Ridiculous Rascals(128.2)

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
