Henry's Universe Mode #54: NXT

Apologies for this post being late. There were some complications, but luckily it's up now. Another announcement: NXT will be holding it's next pay-per-view and first Takeover show, NXT Takeover: Unstoppable on August 24th, taking the place of that episode of NXT.

Heath Slater vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura made his return on the last episode of NXT, and opened the show facing Heath Slater. Slater did his best to keep pace, but the King of Strong Style was not to be denied. One Kinshasa later and the One Man Band hit the showers.

After the match, Nakamura went to leave the ring, when he was stopped by Hideo Itami. Itami said that for years, he'd wanted to face Nakamura to prove who the better man is between the two. He wasn't going to pass up this chance, and issued a challenge for Takeover: Unstoppable. Nakamura accepted as the NXT fans went wild for what should be an incredible match.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Charlotte vs Bayley vs Asuka vs Becky Lynch-  NXT Women's Title #1 Contender's Match

After Sasha Banks was unsuccessful in challenging Paige for the NXT Women's Title, GM William Regal booked this fatal four way match to determine the next challenger. Charlotte got the first near fall of the contest, rolling up Becky Lynch for a two count. All four women exchanged big moves and near falls, but everyone stayed in the contest. Becky went for an Exploder Suplex on Asuka, but Asuka countered into the Asuka Lock, which was broken up by Bayley. Bayley and Charlotte battled on the inside of the ring when Bayley connected with a Bayley to Belly, and with Asuka and Becky distracted, she picked up the three count and another match with Paige.

Winner: Bayley

Ricochet vs Enzo Amore

Ricochet has had a poor start to his run in NXT, and took his frustrations out on Enzo Amore by jumping his before their match could begin. Enzo stayed in it using his brawling, but Ricochet easily out paced him. A Northern Lights/Brainbuster combo followed by a 450 Splash earned Ricochet the victory he'd been looking for.

Winner: Ricochet

EC3(c) vs Diamond Dallas Page- NXT Television Title Match

Veteran DDP vowed to put the cocky champion in his place as he challenged for the NXT Television Title in this match. DDP got dominated in the early going, as EC3 picked him apart. The challenger refused to give up, hitting an impressive diving clothesline to the outside. Despite his best efforts, DDP just couldn't put the champion away, and when the One Percenter connected, it was lights out for DDP.

Winner and still NXT Television Champion: EC3

Sami Zayn and AJ Styles vs Finn Balor and Kenny Omega

Our main event saw NXT Champion Sami Zayn and his challenger, AJ Styles team up to face Finn Balor and Kenny Omega. Balor and Omega designed an effective strategy early on, isolating Sami and keeping him in their corner. Sami fought through the pain, tagging Styles in, and the Phenomenal One went on a rampage. Styles had Omega beat off a Styles Clash, but Balor saved the match for his team. Balor tagged in and hit Styles with a Coup de Grace, but it was Sami that made the save this time. Sami tagged in, and he and Balor went face to face, exchanging blows. It was Balor who got the better of it, poking Sami in the eye before connecting with another Coup de Grace for the victory, as he pinned the NXT Champion.

Winners: Finn Balor and Kenny Omega

The Balor Club is stronger than ever. How will Balor's win in the main event effect NXT as a whole? Tune in next week to find out.

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
