Henry's Universe Mode #196: NXT Takeover: Brooklyn

In the waning days of August, as Henry's Universe Mode draws to a close, NXT has taken over once more. Tonight, in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the past, present and future will collide. Natalya, Nikki Cross and Ember Moon clash for the NXT Women's Championship. Roderick Strong looks to prove himself as he faces Neville, and two near unstoppable tag teams collide. Plus, after becoming the face of NXT in Chicago, can Hideo Itami survive perhaps his greatest challenge in the form of the dangerous Aleister Black?

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Natalya(c) vs Nikki Cross vs Ember Moon- NXT Women's Championship Match

For the most part, this was Nikki Cross' match to lose. The female leader of Sanity took the fight to both of her opponents, keeping Natalya and Ember Moon on the defensive. It took everything that both women had to fight Cross off, and any alliance would be temporary. Ember struck first, connecting with the top rope stunner to the champion. This would cost her, as Nikki capitalized, hitting the Samoan Driver to bring gold to Sanity for the first time.

Winner and the NEW NXT Women's Champion: Nikki Cross

Neville(c) vs Roderick Strong- Cruiserweight Championship Match

From the start of this match, Roderick Strong had a gameplan. He did as much work to the back of Neville as possible, knowing that his arsenal of backbreakers could do a lot of damage. Throughout the match, he constantly attacked the back, wearing the Cruiserweight Champion down. For his part, Neville took to the skies, taking every chance to try and put Roddy away. All seemed lost for the King of the Cruiserweights, as the Messiah of the Backbreaker looked for the End of Heartache. With one last gasp, Neville connected with a rolling forearm to the face of Strong. This kept him down long enough for the Red Arrow to connect, and that brought an end to this stellar contest.

Winner and still Cruiserweight Champion: Neville

Authors of Pain(c) vs British Strong Style- NXT Tag Team Championship Match

Thanks to William Regal's help, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate came into this match with all the momentum in the world. However, early in this championship contest, Regal attempted to interfere on a pin, and was sent to the back. Things broke down from there, with the champions using their numbers advantage with Paul Ellering in their corner. The two monsters, Akam and Rezar, used the chaos to their favor, beating down Dunne and Bate and standing tall once again.

Winners and still NXT Tag Team Champions: Authors of Pain

Hideo Itami(c) vs Aleister Black- NXT Championship Match

Right away, Aleister Black went on the offensive. He showed no fear and no respect, attacking a very surprised Hideo Itami. Going in, we knew that Hideo would be in the fight of his life, and Black took things to another level. He connected early with the Black Mass, but knew just one big move wasn't going to keep the champion down. Itami's resolve would be pushed to the limit, and he just stayed in the match, working the leg of the challenger. This strategy would allow the opening for a GTS, and the biggest shot in the champion's arsenal was executed brilliantly. The arrogance of Hideo Itami would come into play, as he wanted to teach Aleister Black a lesson in respect. He went for a second GTS, but would pay dearly. Black hit him with every strike known to man, opening Hideo up. A nearly unconscious Itami threw the playbook out the window and just charged forward, running right into a second Black Mass. The cover was made and a new champion was crowned.

Winner and the NEW NXT Champion: Aleister Black

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
