Man, WWE really does love f***ing with your expectations, don't they? After last month's all out mumps related calamity right before TLC, this has been one hell of a hectic month. And you know what? I love it. The late fall, especially the closer we get to the end of the year, is one of the slowest times in the entire calendar. This card has some huge intrigue and a couple of legit dream matches, and at the end of day, that's all you can ask for.
Pre-Show- Cruiserweight Championship Match- Enzo Amore vs Kalisto
My sources have confirmed that this is a match on this card.
Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs United States Champion Baron Corbin
We're gettin' all of the good stuff out of the way early here, folks. It's all downhill from this point on. I can't imagine this is a good match, and the company themselves don't seem to really care about it, either. This is a downside to the way this card was structured. There's no real point to having these two guys wrestle- it only exists because every brand's champions are facing off.
Team Raw's Women vs Team SmackDown's Women
My apologies to Becky Lynch, Carmella, Naomi, Tamina and Natalya. I'm sure you had big plans in mind, but it is an unfortunate fact that no one is ready for Asuka.
Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus vs SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos
My boys made it onto the card! Look, I get that everyone wanted to see that Shield-Usos match, but this is clearly just fan service for me. And hey, it worked! These two teams have been two of the best WWE has to offer this year, and this could easily be a sleeper for match of the night.
The Shield vs The New Day
In terms of booking plans, this match certainly makes a lot of sense. I've loved the build to Survivor Series, and the New Day have been a big part of that from the very beginning. I don't see this going any other way other than a decisive Shield victory, but it should be pretty fun.
Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss vs SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair
Of all the title changes we've seen take place over the last month, I actually though Charlotte's was the most impactful, given that she's now won the NXT, Diva's, Raw and SmackDown championships, completing the Grand Slam. Alexa's not a great worker, and has had a run of poor matches over the past year and a half. That being said, she can be carried to solid matches, and Charlotte's one of the best female workers in the company's history, so this could be quite good.
Team Raw(Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Triple H) vs Team SmackDown(Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura and John Cena)
Holy f***. Look at some of the names in this match. So many world championships, so many pay-per-view main events. This is a who's who of the Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era and Reality Era all rolled into one giant match. As to the actual in-ring quality, I'm not sure how good this is actually going to be, given how old some of these competitors are. In terms of star quality, though, this is one of the biggest matches WWE can possibly produce.
Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs WWE Champion AJ Styles
Just look at that title for a second. Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles, holding the top belts, sharing a WWE ring. Absolutely bonkers. How will this go? I'm not really sure. It's fair to say that Lesnar hasn't had a great 2017, match quality wise, and is coming off of a stinker at No Mercy with Braun. On the other hand, AJ's the best in the business when it comes to making anyone look good. If these two guys are given enough time to tell a story, and let their characters shine through, then it should live up to the hype.
