The Dog League: Week 5 Review(2018 Season)

Tug of War struggles as Tailwaggerz and Rare Woofs duel it out in Week 5 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Game 1: Tug of War(74.8) vs Bark Force(146.82)

ANALYSIS

The Giants finally came to play for Bark Force, as Saquon Barkley(24.9 points) and Odell Beckham(23.38 points) had their best games of the season. Add in Tom Brady(27.54 points), and you have one of the biggest wins in Dog League history, as Bark Force ends the winning streak of the league leaders and now looks to begin to climb up the standings. For Tug of War, only Zach Ertz(17 points) showed up this week. Poor games from Alvin Kamara(3.9 points) and Julio Jones(6.2 points), with an early exit from Brandin Cooks, mean the two time champs were held under 100 points once again.

Game 2: Tailwaggerz(112.74) vs Rare Woofs(108)

ANALYSIS

In a game that included over 10 lead changes, Tailwaggerz get their third win of the season, largely thanks to the contributions of James Conner(30.5 points). David Johnson(19.1 points) provided his best game of the year, and luckily the decision to bench Davante Adams(20 points) did not come back to haunt Tailwaggerz in the end. Rare Woofs were not so lucky, as both Isaiah Crowell(29.1 points) and Kenyan Drake(17.5 points) were left on the bench, both having the ability to win the game had they replaced Calvin Ridley(3.8 points). The contributions of Todd Gurley(29.3 points) weren't enough for Rare Woofs this week, who now drop into last place.

Game 3: Ridiculous Rascals(138.82) vs Leaping Girl(95.3)

ANALYSIS

Drew Brees(26.72 points), Antonio Brown(22.1 points) and Eric Ebron(22.5 points) all starred for Rascal this week, as he got an easy win in a rivalry game over Leaping Girl. For Emma, Deshaun Watson(21 points) kept her in the game on Sunday night, but Ezekiel Elliott(8.4 points) was held in check. Leaping Girl will need to solve her problems at tight end, as neither Vance McDonald(0.6 points) or Jordan Reed(2.1 points) look ready to start.

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
