The Dog League: Week 8 Review(2018 Season)

Tailwaggerz nabs first and Tug of War can't catch a break in Week 8 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Game 1: Tug of War(118.08) vs Rare Woofs(125.56)

ANALYSIS

Only two players bothered to show up on Sunday for Rare Woofs, as Andrew Luck(23.36 points) and Todd Gurley(27.5 points) kept the team in the game. On Monday night, the Patriots defense(20 points) delivered, bringing home the second win in a row for Rare Woofs. On the Tug of War side, only Dan Bailey(2 points) noticeably struggled, while Marlon Mack(26.9 points) led the way. Just a tough loss to take for Tug of War, who now drop into fourth place on a four game losing streak.

Game 2: Leaping Girl(95.96) vs Tailwaggerz(128.2)

ANALYSIS

You can't understate the importance of James Conner(33.2 points) to this Tailwaggerz team. If/when Le'Veon Bell returns, they could be hard pressed to replace his production. DeAndre Hopkins(20.2 points) provided most of the firepower for Leaping Girl, who fell meekly into last place, while Tailwaggerz are into first place for the first time in their history.

Game 3: Ridiculous Rascals(115.44) vs Bark Force(121.32)

ANALYSIS

It was a duel in Cincinnati as Joe Mixon(25.8 points) for Rascal and Mike Evans(23.9 points) for Bark Force battled it out. Evans may have lost the battle, but he did win the war, as Bark Force narrowly scrapped through for the win. Patrick Mahomes(26.02 points) did win his matchup, defeating Aaron Rodgers(15.94 points), though he did have a little help. Ty Montgomery's fumble late in the Rams-Packers game cost Rodgers any chance to retake the field, ending his day prematurely. Ultimately, there's no way of knowing if Rodgers had been able to put up the points necessary to win Rascal the game, but it's excruciating knowing there was a chance for a win that wasn't taken. It goes without saying that Rascal is distraught over this loss, but now in second place, he'll just have to pick his head up and get back to work next week.

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
