Edge was unimpressed by Samoa Joe's attitude last week, and has put him in a big match tonight against one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens. Owens and Zayn will open the show, to address both that main event and the attack by The Usos a few weeks ago. Plus, Bobby Roode makes a statement following his main event loss, Asuka takes on Charlotte Flair and Ember Moon makes her SmackDown debut!

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Promo
The tag team champions were quick to lay down the challenge. Owens and Zayn vs The Usos, one more time, at Backlash! Both teams have unfinished business, as their ladder match at WrestleMania only seemed to prolong their feud. Kevin and Sami did not get a response, so they moved on to address tonight's main event, as Kevin pushed to go into the match without back-up and Sami reluctantly agreed.
Asuka vs Charlotte Flair
The Queen was looking for revenge after submitting to Asuka last week, but Charlotte Flair was not going to get her chance at redemption. As Asuka made her entrance, Nia Jax attacked! An all out brawl ensued between champion and challenger, and both women seemed to be evenly matched before security broke it up.
The Colons vs The Wyatt Family
For a third week in a row, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan were absolutely dominant. Although Primo and Epico Colon put up a bit more of a fight, it was Primo that was ultimately put down with The Bludgeoning. Yet again, Bray looked unhappy at the level of competition his disciples faced, clearly hoping to seem them get more of a challenge.
Winners: The Wyatt Family
Ember Moon vs Nikki Bella
Nikki Bella does posses a good amount of experience in Universe Mode, with a championship reign under her belt, but nothing she simply could not match the pure energy of Ember Moon's attack. The War Goddess showed unlimited potential in this contest, taking Nikki apart and putting her away decisively with the Eclipse.
Winner: Ember Moon
Backstage
We now saw Bobby Roode making his way to the ring, apparently to address his loss to Daniel Bryan last week. But suddenly, he opened a locker room door, and ambushed an unsuspecting Bryan! The camera crew called for assistance, but the damage was done, as Roode powerbombed Bryan into a locker before being pulled away.
Tye Dillinger vs Tyler Breeze
Both men traded back and forth, looking very evenly matched early. Tyler Breeze hit the first big shot with the Super Model Kick, but it was only a near fall. An attempt at the Beauty Shot was countered, and Dillinger hit the Perfect Ten facebuster, but again it was only two. Who would hit their finisher first? The answer was Dillinger, who drilled Breeze with the Tye Breaker. 1................2.............kick out! Breeze reached deep to find the fortitude to kick out, and Dillinger was stunned. Prince Pretty rallied, hitting another Super Model Kick. Kip up from the Perfect Ten! Now Dillinger reached deep to survive, and hit another Tye Breaker to defeat the two time WWE Champion.
Winner: Tye Dillinger
Kevin Owens vs Samoa Joe
Right from the start, these two mean and vicious powerhouses beat the stuffing out of each other, just like you could have expected. Big welts formed on the face of Kevin Owens, but he was not the kind of man to back down from a fight, nearly hitting the Pop-Up Powerbomb early. Samoa Joe countered and planted Owens with a uranage, now setting up the Coquina Clutch. Now it was Owens' turn to counter, and he ascended the turnbuckles, looking to take a big chance. But Joe popped up to his feet, delivering a top rope belly to belly suplex! Both men were down, but we were robbed of a clean finish, as The Usos ran in, putting the boots to Owens for the DQ.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Post-Match
It appears like The Usos have accepted the challenge from the champions, as they attacked Kevin Owens two on one, but Sami Zayn ran in from the back to even the odds! The two teams brawled, and Samoa Joe elected to take his leave. Not so fast Joe, as Drew McIntyre came from out of nowhere to blindside the number one contender! A chaotic episode of SmackDown Live ended in anarchy as all six men continued to fight and Edge and a team of officials tried to get everything under control.
