Summary:
The WWE continues it's tour of SoCal with a trip to San Diego for the first week of NXT. Up first, a triple threat for the Light Heavyweight Title. The match predictably stole the show, with all three competitors hungry for the title. Hideo would hit a GTS on Breeze, but Prince Pretty shockingly kicked out. Several more near falls occured, before Tyler Breeze hit a Supermodel Kick on Itami and a Beauty Shot on Zayn for the pin and the title. Up next, the NXT Tag Titles were to be decided, featuring the Vaudevillains and Enzo and Big Cass. The 'Villains used their technical wrestling, whereas Enzo and Cass relied on their tenacity. A big boot from Big Cass and a distraction from Enzo were enough to score the pin, the titles, and to send the NXT fans into a frenzy. The final of the three preliminary matches saw the debut of AJ Styles, as he took on the Lone Wolf, Baron Corbin. Corbin was more than ready to ruin the debut of Styles, even kicking out of the Styles Clash. Styles responded in kind, kicking out of the End of Days. With his best move countered, AJ pulled out the Phoenix Splash to get the pin and earn a debut win over a very game Corbin.

The first of our two main events saw a collection of four of the best female wrestlers to ever wrestle in NXT, and four of the best in the entire world. Old rivalries abounded in this match, with Paige-Emma and Sasha-Bayley. The action was fast and furious, with all four women pulling out some of their best offense. The ending came unexpectedly, with Paige and Emma brawling on the outside, Bayley hit two Bayley to Bellys on Sasha to walk away with the gold. The massive main event featured two of the best in NXT history, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor. Balor got the advantage early on, hitting a Coup de Grace very early in the matchup. Balor continued to get close to seizing the title, but Owens was doing everything in his power to prevent it. It was Balor in the end, however, that managed to beat Owens up the ladder and hold the gold. (Note: I have to stop using ladder matches, because the AI is horrible. Also, the NXT set apparently can't handle a TLC match, as there were no tables or chairs available. Though who was really surprised that Owens and Balor disappointed?)

That ends the first episode of NXT. The first four matches on the card were incredible, and the main event stunk up the joint. Sounds like NXT to me! Up next, the end of week 1 with Thursday Night Smackdown. After that show finishes, I'll post the list of champions, which will be updated every time a title changes hands.

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
