Summary:
The WWE took an abrupt detour to Montreal, Canada for the first episode of Smackdown. We opened things with a tag team battle royal to claim the WWE tag team titles. (Disclaimer: There are no three way tag team matches in WWE 2k16. Instead, I just used a six-man battle royal and ignored all the in-fighting). The returning Hardy Boyz shockingly were eliminated first, leaving Kofi and Titus to fight it out. However, Titus made quick work of Kofi, picking up the win and the titles for the Prime Time Players. An old feud was rejuvenated, with Nikki Bella and AJ Lee squaring off for the Divas Title. Each had a manager in their corner, Nikki with her sister, AJ with her best friend Kaitlyn. The two put on a good show, a back and forth contest that saw quite a few near falls. It appeared that AJ had secured the fall when Brie got involved, stopping the count. However, AJ rallied, hitting a Pumphandle Suplex for the victory. The final of the preliminary matches saw the United States title on the line between Dean Ambrose and Booker T. Ambrose grabbed the advantage early one with superior conditioning and youth on his side, even hitting a Dirty Deeds, but Booker was able to kick out just before 3. Booker, with the crowd on his side, made a big comeback, hitting 2 Axe Kick's to once again become the United States champion.

The co-main event featured two new WWE debutantes, "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura and "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" Austin Aries. The match was a classic, with two of the top workers in the game today. Shinsuke held the advantage early on, working over the back of Aries, but made a mistake by going for an armbar rather than the vaunted bomaye knee. Aries fired back with an assortment of kicks, before Shinsuke stopped his momentum with a devastating package piledriver. Once again, though, the armbar was unable to get the job done. Aries finally hit a roaring elbow, scoring a near fall, but Shinsuke countered the brainbuster, hitting a standing drop kick for an impressive debut victory. (Note: I removed the armbar from Shinsuke's moveset, so he should use the bomaye next time). The main event was up next, featuring a plethora of incredible talent, including a re-debut for Rey and the Smackdown debut of Owens, who switched brands. The match was as chaotic as could be expected, with tons of big spots. Rey scored a near fall on Daniel Bryan, but it was broken up by Orton at the last second. Rey got another near fall on Orton after a 619, but Rock interrupted the count. In the end, it was Orton who cleared the ring, hitting an RKO on Ziggler to pick up the fall and become the face of Smackdown. (Another Note: These multi-man matches are a bad idea, the AI is really horrible. One-on-ones for the most part from now on).

With Randy Orton the new face on Smackdown, this ended the first week of the Universe. The posts will continue, along with the updated post for all the titles. Stay tuned for more Universe Mode.

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
