Hell in a Cell 2016 Recap

How fun, another Raw-branded pay-per-view. It's not that Raw is abjectly bad. It's just that it's pretty.....well, bad. There was plenty of good wrestling on this show, but none of the matches really have any emotional investment behind them. What you're left with is guys and gals killing each other to get over non-existent stories, which pretty well sums up the 'E over the past five years. Since this is a triple main event(which is not true, only one match can be a main event), let's start with the three Cell matches. Roman's proved to be pretty good in Cell matches, and he delivered a solid performance once again. Honestly, though, if a title was going to be hot-potatoed, I actually think Rusev should've won this match. Roman's going to be in main events again eventually, and I think Rusev works better with the US Title. Next up is Owens-Rollins. Now, anyone who's read these reviews knows I love Seth, and I've wanted him to turn face s

Henry's Universe Mode #82: NXT Takeover: London

Tonight, an era comes to an end. Tonight, history is made, legends are born, heroes fall and dreams are destroyed. Tonight, NXT takes over London, and nothing will ever be the same again. It's the final night in NXT history.....let's make it count. Following a hostile takeover of his own brand, William Regal's chosen champion will face the ultimate test. One sees it as betrayal, the other opportunity, but who will walk out with the gold when former friends collide once more? Four of NXT's finest meet, both teams determined to prove their unity. Gold and opportunity is always on the line on NXT, and tonight will be the final night for many of those that seek them. Universe Mode NXT Takeover: London October 30th, 2016 Location: London, England William Regal's Address We opened the show with NXT's General Manager. He welcomed the audience to London, England, home of his United Kingdom. He guaranteed that his boys would be walking out with gold on N

South Park "Fort Collins" Review

And we're off and running, folks. I have to admit to some reluctance to doing this review, given last episode's politic focus. Luckily, the political humor was very low in this episode, which made it a lot easier to watch. With the steady progression on each storyline conveyed in this episode, it ended up being one of the best of the season. There's a lot to cover, but let's start from the top. Randy and Mr. Garrisson's war on the "Member Berries" feels like the main plot, with the little berries themselves definitely in on the act. It's starting to become clear that they may well be the primary antagonist this season, and their road trip and subsequent killing of one of their own was highly entertaining. What a started as a gag has quickly evolved into a seemingly massive story, and they've been a great new addition to the show. Gerald's role as "skankhunt42" has really helped him establish himself, but his relationship with f

Henry's Universe Mode #81: NXT

Tonight is a big night on NXT. With TakeOver: London just days away, opponents on Sunday Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe must team up to face the unstoppable NXT Tag Team Champions, Gallows and Anderson. Plus, stay tuned for a major announcement on the future of NXT after the show. Universe Mode NXT October 26th, 2016 Location: Chicago, IL Emma and Alexa Bliss vs Bayley and Sasha Banks William Regal made a major announcement when he informed us that these four would meet in a fatal four way match at TakeOver: London for Emma's NXT Women's Title. With such high stakes coming up on Sunday, this match was very, very tense. Both Alexa and Sasha were looking to prove they belonged in a big championship match, trading innovative offense. Emma tried her best to stay out of the match, and looked pissed when Alexa, her protege, tagged her in. An obviously distracted Emma was caught with a Bayley to Belly to give Bayley and Sasha a big win. They'll be opponents on Sunday

Henry's Universe Mode #80: Raw

Tonight is the Season 1 Finale of Monday Night Raw, the last chance to see most of these guys until Season 2. The man who was crowned champion on the very first episode of Season 1, Bray Wyatt, returns to battle the unstoppable Brock Lesnar, with the World Heavyweight Title in the balance. The three women who have defined Raw's women's division square off in a triple threat with the gold on the line. CM Punk's title may be in jeopardy in a fatal four way match, and The Outsiders finally get their chance at the gold. Raw's newest arrival, the United States Champion Kevin Owens, puts his title on the line against the incomparable John Cena. All this and more on the Season Finale of Monday Nights. Universe Mode Monday Night Raw October 24th, 2016 Location: Albuquerque, NM Kevin Owens(c) vs John Cena- United States Title Match Neither man held back, opening the match with a wild flurry of fists. South Park "Douche and a Danish" Review

Yay, politics. Because that's what this season needed more of, right? If there was anything Matt and Trey could've done to make me lose interest in this season, it was to involve more politics, and that's exactly what this episode did. It wasn't a bad episode by any stretch; most of the jokes hit home and there was a lot of good character development. To get it out of the way first, we saw the return of Mr. Garrison's presidential campaign. He's still in a state of emergency, trying to sabotage his own campaign after realizing he has no plan if he actually wins. This week, he decided to attack women, which did about the same thing to him that it did for that other guy in real life. Garrison is extraordinarily pleased that his plan has worked, but his supporters are not, and show their displeasure, trying to take out the man they once hailed as a hero. It's intriguing to see how the "member berries" play into this whole conflict, with it bein

Henry's Universe Mode #79: NXT

First up, apologies for the break between posts. In order to make sure you are all filled in on my plans, here's the schedule for the remainder of Season 1: NXT(October 19th and 26th), Raw Season 1 Finale(Oct 24th) and the NXT Season Finale Takeover: London(Oct 30th). Tonight on NXT, the New Day look to earn another championship shot when they take on the Dirty Heels, Bobby Roode and Austin Aries. The Breaker of Bones, Pentagon Dark will look to contribute another sacrifice to his master. In the main event, it's a massive encounter between Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe, with the winner earning a NXT Championship Match at Takeover: London. Universe Mode NXT October 19th, 2016 Location: Nashville, TN The New Day vs The Dirty Heels William Regal promised the winner of this match a NXT Tag Team Title shot at Takeover: London, and both teams looked to impress. It was Big E and Xavier Woods representing the New Day in this match, and they controlled the pace early. B

South Park "Wieners Out" Review

The D's out for Harambe, you guys. The last episode that carried a similar title was "Butt Out" in Season 7, one of the worst episodes in South Park history. This one was certainly much better than that, delivering on quite a few fantastic jokes and continuing a great season. These past few years have really been a revitalization of the show, and that continued with this episode. Following on the ongoing war between the boys and girls of South Park Elementary, we see that Butters, of all people, has started a counter-movement. PC Principal's "PC Pretzel" line was one of the best of the season so far, and it's pretty amazing to see how much political power Butters seems to have. Once again, a minor character gets elevated to main status, continuing the trend from last season, which is always fun. Clearly the tension is reaching a breaking point, and at this point, both sides have probably moved past anything to do with Skankhunt42. Speaking of Skan

Henry's Universe Mode #78: Raw

Tonight on Raw, we have two big tag team matches in store. In the first, the challengers for the World Tag Team Titles, The Outsiders, take on former tag team champs Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Also, Intercontinental Champion CM Punk teams with Baron Corbin to face Rusev and Shawn Michaels. In our main event, the new United States Champion Kevin Owens will wrestle his first match on Raw, when he takes on Mark Henry. Universe Mode Monday Night Raw October 10th, 2016 Location: Washington, D.C. The Outsiders vs Luke Harper and Erick Rowan Harper and Rowan have been very dysfunctional, and they decided that they want nothing to do with Bray Wyatt, at least for now. Although they performed better without Wyatt judging them at ringside, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were just the better tag team. A big right hand from Nash put Rowan down for the count, as The Outsiders continue their roll. Winners: The Outsiders CM Punk and Baron Corbin vs Rusev and Shawn Michaels Punk w

Henry's Universe Mode #77: No Mercy

There was a time long, long ago, when humans were scarce and life was tough. To survive, you had to have the tenacity of a lion, the ferocity of a tiger, and intensity of a gorilla. To survive, you had to live by that simple motto, that elegant creed: kill or be killed. We as a species have evolved past that time, building our beautiful building, creating and restoring life to the way it was meant to be. Occasionally though, we slip back into our feral form, back into our darkest days. To survive, you have to kill. To survive, you have to maim. To survive, you have to show..........No Mercy. When a diabolical challenger, determined to win at all costs, faces a superhuman champion, thirsting for vengeance, who will prevail? Two men, who have torn their bodies to pieces will battle once more to see who will be left standing. Two champions, alike in their lust for power, face two challengers who thirst for gold. When opportunity knocks, who will answer the call? A grueling tournament co

No Mercy 2016 Recap

It started with many. It is now down to two. Like gladiators and warriors before, they will dispense justice in it's raw, most brutal form. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to go to war......in the second Presidential Debate, as Donald Trump takes on Hillary Clinton, inside of a steel cage. Only one can survive, and for the other, there will be.........No Mercy(puts on shades). Running up against the most anticipated presidential debate in history can't have been fun for Miz and Co, but they did their best, delivering a solid product with some very confusing decisions.  To open the show, we had a big rarity, with the world title on the line in the opening contest. I do understand why it happened, as there was no way even John Cena could've outdrew the debate, but it was strange nonetheless. The match itself was fine, bordering on great, and the finish will keep several feuds running for now. Poor Nikki and Carmella, as they were the designated cool down match,

Henry's Universe Mode #76: SmackDown

Tonight, with just two days before No Mercy, the Viper returns to SmackDown. After losing to Stone Cold Steve Austin just over a month ago, we haven't seen or heard from Randy Orton. Tonight, that will change, as Orton is in the building. What will he say? We have no clue. Universe Mode SmackDown October 7th, 2016 Location: Montreal, CA The Vaudevillains vs The Ascension- SmackDown Tag Team Invitational Semi-Finals Match We kicked off the semi-finals of the tag tournament with The Vaudevillains attempting to halt the wave of momentum that The Ascension have been on. Gotch and English came right out of the gates firing, and had Konnor and Viktor on the back step early on. The Ascension came roaring back though, using great tag team strategy to dominate their opponents, and seemed to be closing in on another win. Out of nowhere, though, Gotch came up with a big counter, rolling up Konnor to score a shock victory, whilst Viktor was brawling with English on the outsid

Henry's Universe Mode #75: NXT

NXT General Manager William Regal issued a big statement the other day, when he announced that NXT's next Takeover show will take place on Sunday, October 30th. Not only will this be NXT's first Sunday pay-per-view, it is also the Season 1 Finale. To raise the stakes even higher, Regal also announced that the show will be taking place in the heart of the United Kingdom, London. This will mark the first time that a pay-per-view in Universe Mode takes place outside of the US. Not to be overlooked, though, is the fact that tonight is a big show for NXT, as it is a big championship edition. Three titles are on the line, with Samoa Joe put the NXT Championship up for grabs in the main event, against the United Kingdom's Bad News Barrett. With NXT Takeover: London coming up at the end of the month, tonight could be crucial to the future of NXT. Happy 300th!

Man has it been a whirlwind of a year. It was earlier this year, at the start of February, that my blog reached it's 200th post. I'm happy to announce today that this is my 300th post, as I've posted over a hundred times in this year alone. That smashes the record for most posts in any year in Henry's World history, over double my previous record, which was set last year. Here's to bigger and better things, and to the passing of time. Long may it reign. -Henry

Henry's Universe Mode #74: Raw

Following the events of Unforgiven, the WWE Board of Directors wanted to fire Nia Jax, who was already suspended due to her actions. However, champion Trish Stratus requested that Nia stay on Raw, wanting more competition. So, at the Season 1 Finale of Raw on October 24th, Trish Stratus will defend her belt in a triple threat match against Chyna and Nia Jax. Tonight on Raw, we will see a preview of that match when Trish Stratus takes on Chyna in a non-title rematch. The Intercontinental Title is on the line in the main event, and the Shield are in a six man tag match, with their opposition featuring Brock Lesnar. Let's get to it. With Season 1 on Henry's Universe Mode beginning to draw to a close, the blue brand hosts the final episode of September. Tonight, it's a tag team showcase, with all four of the first round matches in the SmackDown Tag Team Invitational taking place. In the main event, it's a special showcase match, as the number one contender to the WWE Title, AJ Styles, faces Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Simon Gotch had a big performance in this match, keeping his team in it and dominating both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. He had both men down with his Gentleman's Clutch maneuver, but both times, the other partner interfered. However, a distraction from Aiden English proved to be t
