Henry's Universe Mode #78: Raw

Tonight on Raw, we have two big tag team matches in store. In the first, the challengers for the World Tag Team Titles, The Outsiders, take on former tag team champs Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Also, Intercontinental Champion CM Punk teams with Baron Corbin to face Rusev and Shawn Michaels. In our main event, the new United States Champion Kevin Owens will wrestle his first match on Raw, when he takes on Mark Henry.

Location: Washington, D.C.

The Outsiders vs Luke Harper and Erick Rowan

Harper and Rowan have been very dysfunctional, and they decided that they want nothing to do with Bray Wyatt, at least for now. Although they performed better without Wyatt judging them at ringside, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were just the better tag team. A big right hand from Nash put Rowan down for the count, as The Outsiders continue their roll.

Winners: The Outsiders

CM Punk and Baron Corbin vs Rusev and Shawn Michaels

Punk was clearly looking to hurt Rusev, as the Bulgarian Brute would be his major competition in the fatal four way. Despite the focus, Rusev showed his incredible resilience, kicking out of a GTS from Punk, continuing to fight on. However, just when it looked like Rusev and HBK might make a comeback, Michaels deserted his partner, letting Rusev eat another GTS from Punk for the three count. Rusev will be at a clear disadvantage heading into the fatal four way, with the three other members already taking steps to slow him down.

Winners: CM Punk and Baron Corbin

Mark Henry vs Kevin Owens

The United States Champion and newest member of the Raw roster, Kevin Owens, was in for a tough test against the veteran Mark Henry. The World's Strongest Man came out of the gates hot, overpowering KO and putting the champ on the ropes. Quickly, Owens countered back with a big DDT on the floor that turned the tides. A KO cannonball and an impressive Pop-Up Powerbomb, getting the big man off his feet, spelled victory for the US Champ.

After the match, Owens' celebration was interrupted by John Cena's music. The Leader of the Cenation made his way to the ring, staring down KO. He made it short and sweet- John Cena is back for one reason, and that is to become champion once more. He wants Kevin Owens, for the United States Title on the Raw Season Finale. Owens agreed, and the match was officially announced.

Winner: Kevin Owens

Raw continues to build towards the Season 1 Finale on October 24th. Here's a look at the finalized card:

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
