Henry's Universe Mode #75: NXT

NXT General Manager William Regal issued a big statement the other day, when he announced that NXT's next Takeover show will take place on Sunday, October 30th. Not only will this be NXT's first Sunday pay-per-view, it is also the Season 1 Finale. To raise the stakes even higher, Regal also announced that the show will be taking place in the heart of the United Kingdom, London. This will mark the first time that a pay-per-view in Universe Mode takes place outside of the US.

Not to be overlooked, though, is the fact that tonight is a big show for NXT, as it is a big championship edition. Three titles are on the line, with Samoa Joe put the NXT Championship up for grabs in the main event, against the United Kingdom's Bad News Barrett. With NXT Takeover: London coming up at the end of the month, tonight could be crucial to the future of NXT.

Sami Zayn Opens The Show

Before we could get to championship action, the Underdog from the Underground stood in the middle of the ring, mic in hand. Zayn thanked the NXT fans for their support, before verbally eviscerating the United Kingdom. Particularly, though, Sami focused on his supposed "friend" Neville, who turned his back on Zayn to join the group. Sami questioned whether winning gold was worth destroying one's integrity, at which point the European Champion interrupted. Zayn had no right, according to Neville, to question his actions, as Sami had always gotten to the top with no effort, whilst Neville had to fight and claw for everything he got. The two men got in each other's face, before Sami issued a challenge; Sami Zayn vs Neville, one more time, for the European Title at NXT Takeover: London! Neville accepted, and promised to teach Sami a lesson in pain and hardship.

Bayley(c) vs Emma- NXT Women's Title Match

This was already going to be a chaotic championship encounter, with these two women ready to go at it, but to add to the chaos, Bayley's friend Sasha Banks and Emma's protege Alexa Bliss, were both present. Alexa did not take any liberties when it came to outside interference, distracting both the referee and the champ several times. Bayley withstood the numbers game, proving why she is a two-time champ, schooling the challenger. A huge turning point in the match came when Sasha Banks tried to take out Alexa, who was running her mouth, but nearly took her best friend Bayley. It was a close call, and Bayley had to recover from the shock and get back in the ring, narrowly beating the ten count. It was clear she was not in the right mind, though, and Emma dominated the remainder of the match. One more distraction from Alexa Bliss set up Emma perfectly for the diving crossbody to become the new NXT Women's Champion.

After the match, a distraught Bayley confronted Sasha, who was close to tears. After a tense argument, both went to the back as Emma celebrated in the ring.

Winner and the NEW NXT Women's Champion: Emma

Gallows and Anderson(c) vs The New Day- NXT Tag Team Title Match

The challengers made an odd decision right off the bat, choosing Kofi and Xavier as the competitors, leaving their most powerful member, Big E, at ringside. The champs made them pay for it, dominating once again. They proved why they are one of the best tag teams in Universe Mode, picking apart The New Day, winning with a Magic Killer on Xavier Woods. Even since they went solo, these two have been unstoppable. Who could possibly defeat the most dominant duo on Wednesday Nights?

Winners and still NXT Tag Team Champions: Gallows and Anderson

Samoa Joe(c) vs Bad News Barrett- NXT Championship Match

Barrett had the numbers game in his corner, with William Regal accompanying him to ringside. The champion came out firing, letting loose on his challenger. The brawling background of Barrett got him back in the match pretty quickly though, as he took Joe out on the outside of the ring. This level of dominance didn't last long, and an enraged Samoa Joe was determined to prove his dominance, putting Barrett through the announce table with a Samoan Driver. Stunned, Barrett tried to find time to regroup, but none was provided, and Joe looked to put things to rest, connecting on a Muscle Buster. Regal proved crucial, saving his charge by pulling to ref out of the ring. Furious, Joe confronted Regal on the outside, and after a brief argument, Joe destroyed the NXT GM to the delight of the crowd. Joe was so caught up in his path of destruction that he never saw Barrett coming, and the Bull Hammer nearly knocked him out. Barrett rolled the NXT Champion back into the ring, but could only get a two count. The two men brawled on, neither willing to give in, as they smashed through the barricade into the crowd. They narrowly got back into the ring in time, and it was Barrett who took advantage once more, as he connected on a second Bull Hammer. Stunned, the NXT fans watched as the official slowly counted to three, with Joe's shoulder staying on the mat. Regal, over the moon with excitement, handed Barrett the NXT Championship as the boos rained in from all sides. With NXT Takeover: London approaching, it appears the United Kingdom now hold all the cards.

Winner and the NEW NXT Champion: Bad News Barrett

An exciting night of NXT action saw two new champions crowned, and the announcement of the first match for NXT Takeover: London! Tune in next week to see just how this affects the landscape of Wednesday Nights.

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
