New Age Outlaws vs The Vaudevillains- SmackDown Tag Team Invitational First Round Match

We opened first round competition with two teams looking for a big win, in the New Age Outlaws and the Vaudevillains. Simon Gotch had a big performance in this match, keeping his team in it and dominating both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. He had both men down with his Gentleman's Clutch maneuver, but both times, the other partner interfered. However, a distraction from Aiden English proved to be the difference, and Gotch was rewarded for his hard work, rolling up Gunn to get the victory and send his team to the semi-finals.

Winners: The Vaudevillains

American Alpha vs Miz and Morrison- SmackDown Tag Team Invitational First Round Match

Gable and Jordan looked fired up for this match, and despite several tricks thrown by Miz and Morrison, dominated the majority of the match. A big decision was made by the ref when he ejected Maryse, who was at ringside. With nothing to stand in their way, Gable and Jordan coasted to a win, with Jordan pinning Miz following an impressive double superplex.

Winners: American Alpha

The Rhodes Scholars vs The Ascension- SmackDown Tag Team Invitational First Round Match

This was a closely contested match, but the boys from the Wasteland got a big advantage thanks to Konnor. The big man's strength proved a pivotal role, as neither Sandow nor Rhodes could counter his physicality. The Ascension ultimately came out on top, continuing their winning streak on SmackDown with a Fall of Man.

Winners: The Ascension

Edge and Christian vs The Hardy Boyz- SmackDown Tag Team Invitational First Round Match

For what was set to be the biggest of the first round matches in this tournament, Teddy Long added an extra stipulation, as this was scheduled to be a tag team elimination match. The Hardyz got off to a quick start, out pacing Edge and Christian, but the cunning intelligence of the Rated R Superstar quickly got Edge a big advantage on Jeff Hardy. Edge and Christian dominated Jeff, and although the Charismatic Enigma showed some fight, he was finally dispatched with a Killswitch from Captain Charisma. Although Matt was down in the odds with his partner eliminated, he fought with a fury, nearly eliminating Edge. Unfortunately, he just couldn't beat the numbers game, and Edge and Christian advanced with a big double spear.

After the match, Jeff came back out and comforted his brother. Matt looked completely distraught, but when Jeff's back was turned, his expression changed to one of anger. He then destroyed his brother before a shocked crowd, leaving Jeff laying after a Twist of Fate onto a steel chair. Matt walked up the ramp, head held high, his brother not moving in the ring, his face covered in blood.

Winners: Edge and Christian

AJ Styles vs Bret Hart

The brash, controversial number one contender, AJ Styles, looked as confident as ever, though the Hitman looked to slow the Phenomenal One down. Bret looked to out wrestle AJ, and for a while, it looked like his strategy might work. The viciousness of the soon-to-be challenger for the WWE Title took Bret by surprise, though, and got AJ back into the match up. A brainbuster connected with devastating impact, and seemed to cause a lot of issues for Bret. Even though he still managed to fight back, he seemed to be plagued by neck issues throughout the remainder of the match. Despite this, he took control back from Styles, and seemed to be closing in on a big win, looking for the Sharpshooter. AJ countered with a well placed kick to the neck, before connecting with a Styles Clash. With the neck issues Bret was dealing with, he seemed to have been very affected by the move, allowing AJ to pick up an easy win.

After the match, Bret was having trouble standing, clutching his neck, just like Stone Cold last week. AJ, though, seemed to have some compassion, helping Bret to his feet before blasting the Hitman with a big kick right to the head, collapsing Bret, who lay on the canvas, unmoving. AJ seemed unperturbed, celebrating in the ring before he was interrupted by Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. Cesaro got right in AJ's face, and the two brawled to the outside, while Tyson Kidd checked on Bret Hart, who was still unmoving, with doctors looking extremely distraught.

Winner: AJ Styles

For the second week in a row, AJ Styles seems to have caused a major injury to a wrestling legend. Can the Phenomenal One's reign of terror over SmackDown be stopped, or will the Swiss Superman be just another victim? Cesaro will put the WWE Title on the line against Styles at No Mercy on October 9th. Also on that card, Teddy Long has announced a six pack challenge, with the winner earning a championship opportunity. Here's a look at the updated card:

No Mercy Card:

Cesaro(c) vs AJ Styles- WWE Title Match
Dolph Ziggler(c) vs Kevin Owens- No Holds Barred Match for the United States Title
Paige(c) vs Natalya- Women's World Title Match
SmackDown Tag Team Invitational Finals
Six Pack Challenge for a Championship Opporunity

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
