Henry's Universe Mode #132: SmackDown

Apologies for this post being a day late. Because this is going up on Wednesday, there will be no Main Event this week.

Tonight is a very special night here on SmackDown. Tonight, the blue brand showcases some of the best talent in the world today. Tonight, eight women face off for the ultimate prize: a SmackDown's Women's Title match at WrestleMania. Who will face Alexa Bliss at the Showcase of the Immortals? It's time to find out.

SmackDown
March 14th, 2017
Location: Washington, D.C.

Charlotte vs Natalya

We opened the show with a battle of wrestling royalty, as Charlotte faced Natalya. Both women were slow off the start, sizing the other up. It was The Queen who made the first move, looking for her vicious Spear. Natalya saw it coming, and caught Charlotte with a big clothesline. She then locked in the patented submission hold, the Sharpshooter. It took everything she had, but Charlotte managed to escape, and then quickly locked in a Figure Eight Leglock. This time it was Natalya who powered out, but Charlotte connected with a boot to the midsection and followed up with Natural Selection for the win.

Winner: Charlotte

A Backstage Attack

We were then taken backstage, where officials found Brie Bella unconscious. With Brie scheduled to compete up next, what happens now?

Naomi vs ???

The show must go on, and now Naomi awaited her opponent, the newest member on SmackDown's women's division. That opponent was no other than the monstrous Nia Jax, who has not been seen since she walked out of Raw with the WWE Women's Title back in October. This was nothing more than a massacre, as Nia delivered two big leg drops to advance to our main event.

Winner: Nia Jax

Emma vs Dana Brooke

Emma had a chance to face former protege Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania, but she had to go through current tag team partner Dana Brooke first. Although they have formed a strong friendship, neither woman held anything back on this night. It was the veteran instincts of Emma that played in her favor, as Dana was a little too over-zealous. It looked to be all over when Emma connected with a Michinoku Driver, but Dana shocked everyone, kicking out at two. A surprised Emma fell victim to a big running forearm smash, as Dana Brooke pulled victory from the brink of defeat.

Winner: Dana Brooke

Becky Lynch vs Paige

These two competitors have had some wars in the past, and this was no different. Becky Lynch and Paige bought their best to Washington, D.C. The Anti-Diva showcased her power, tossing Becky around the ring out of the gate. This only served to fire the Irish Lass-Kicker up, who dropped the former champion with several dropkicks. Paige turned the tide with a rake to the eyes, and looked for a Paige-Turner. Becky had the move well scouted, and turned her inside out with a big clothesline. The fight spilled to the floor, where Paige was sent into the steel steps multiple times. Becky had to re-enter the ring to break the official's count, giving Paige time to consider her options. She grabbed a sledgehammer, intending to get disqualified. Becky was having none of it, knocking the weapon out of her hands and locking in a Dis-arm-her to finally earn a big win.

Winner: Becky Lynch

Big Night Next Week

Next week on SmackDown, we will see a tag team number one contender's match, as The Revival face The Club. Plus, AJ Styles vs Triple H in the main event!

Charlotte vs Nia Jax vs Dana Brooke vs Becky Lynch- #1 Contender's Match for the SmackDown Women's Title

This was as chaotic as it was excellent, as the SmackDown women's division produced another gem. Right off the bat, you could tell that Nia Jax was going to be very difficult to defeat, as she took out the other three competitors. Charlotte and Becky each tried to take out the monster, but it was surprisingly Dana Brooke that did the most damage, as her strength was in full display. With Nia out of the picture, Becky managed to apply the Dis-arm-her twice, to both Dana and Charlotte. Both women escaped the hold, and the Irish Lass-Kicker was left dumbfounded. Nia entered the ring with a fury, taking Becky to the outside of the ring for a vicious brawl. Charlotte tried desperately to put Dana away, and nearly lost it herself after a big backbreaker. Nia dispatched of both Dana and Becky, and it was left with just her and Charlotte. Nia connected on a spinebuster and looked for a leg drop, but Charlotte rolled out of the way. For the second time of the night, Natural Selection was her savior, and The Queen will now fight for her crown at WrestleMania.

Winner: Charlotte

Can Charlotte become the Queen of SmackDown, or will the Wicked Witch Alexa Bliss pull off another upset at the Showcase of the Immortals? We will find out at WrestleMania. Until then, take care.

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
