Henry's Universe Mode #182: NXT

One week after a hellacious NXT Championship Match, both Adam Cole and champion Hideo Itami are in action. Cole looks to prove one of his doubters wrong as he faces Apollo Crews, while Itami takes on Cedric Alexander in our main event, who is looking to rebound from his own loss last week. Plus, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate in tag team action, and Carmella goes one on one with Nikki Cross.

Adam Cole vs Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews unleashed a hail of trash talk during last week's main event, calling Adam Cole a "loser" and "cheap imitation of a professional wrestler". Cole would subsequently challenge Crews to meet him in the ring, leading to a quite vicious encounter to open NXT. The Elite Athlete Apollo Crews was obviously looking to make an example out of Adam Cole, to prove that he is championship caliber. Despite taking a lot of offense throughout the match, the Panama City Playboy proved his resilience, and scored a huge rebound win when he dodged a big lariat into a small package.

This result obviously wasn't going to stick well with Apollo Crews, who immediately tried to jump Adam Cole after the bell. In a surprise turn, Cole fended off Crews, dumping him out of the ring before celebrating with the fans, infuriating a frustrated Apollo.

Winner: Adam Cole

Hype Bros vs Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate

Before the match, manager William Regal officially announced Dunne and Bate as "British Strong Style", declaring that they were here to take over NXT. The two young Brits were dominant once more, but did commit a near costly mistake when they connected on their Brainbuster/Roundhouse Kick combo to Mojo Rawley, but forgot to stop Zack Ryder from breaking up the pin. But the true danger of this team was then shown, as they learned from their mistake. They connected once more with their biggest move, and this time Dunne dragged Rawley into his corner, getting the three count.

Winners: British Strong Style

Carmella vs Nikki Cross

Carmella can talk a big game, but we've seen her struggle to back it up in the ring, and that was the case again here tonight. The unhinged Nikki Cross was all over from the very start, and put the match away in mere minutes with a devastating whiplash neckbreaker.

Afterward, the dangerous Cross seemed to take exception to the attitude of Carmella, continuing the beatdown. However, it was the former Women's Champion Ember Moon that would come to Carmella's rescue, fending off the female leader of Sanity, before taking to the mic to declare that she isn't finished with the Women's Championship or Natalya.

Winner: Nikki Cross

Hideo Itami vs Cedric Alexander

Hideo showed a bit of a more aggressive attitude last week against Adam Cole, and would show more of it against Cedric Alexander in NXT's main event. He could have and should have won this match several times, but instead looked to inflict as much damage as possible. Itami nearly cost himself the match with this strategy, as Alexander came very close to picking up the shock win. In the end, it wasn't enough, as the NXT Champion delivered two Go to Sleep's in succession for the win.

Winner: Hideo Itami

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
