South Park "Holiday Special" Review

Hey, it's the second Randy-centric episode of the season. South Park's resident maniac(I guess?) was in fine form in this one, resulting in a strong, enjoyable episode. It's amazing what this show can still do when it focus its episodes around its characters rather than the latest headline news. So much of what has been missing from South Park for the past few seasons is plain fun and actual comedy, and it was refreshing to see some of that return in "Holiday Special". This wasn't a perfect episode by any means, and I hate that this show is still more focused on politics and race then almost anything else, but I can't blame them. In a way, this episode showed just how easy it is to lean into standard behavior, from those that look for ways to play the victim card and latch onto any cause at a moment's notice. This episode was really all it needed to be: a fun, fast paced affair with little filler, and all content completely devoted to one, central s

The Dog League: Week 4 Preview(2017 Season)

Welcome to Week 4 of the Dog League season, as we will finish the first quarter of the season this week. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl Despite being winless at 0-3 this season, the problem for Leaping Girl hasn't been a lack of talent. She has plenty, they just have yet to produce for her. With that in mind, she didn't make a single waiver move this week, only choosing to bring Delanie Walker back into the starting line-up for Jason Witten. She did also consider bringing in T.Y. Hilton and DeMarco Murray, who are both coming off of big weeks, but as they have poor match-ups against Seattle and Houston respectively, she left them on the bench. Week 4 Starting Line-Up(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Drew Brees RB LeSean McCoy RB Ty Montgomery WR Dez Bryant WR DeAndre Hopkins TE Delanie Walker RB Dalvin Cook K Justin Tucker DEF Seattle Seahawks Tailwaggerz Coming off of their first win of the season,

The Dog League: Week 3 Review(2017 Season)

Welcome back to the Dog League. Week 3 saw Tug of War assert their dominance, and Leaping Girl and Tailwaggerz battle it out for their first win. Let's get to it. Leaping Girl It's all gone wrong for Leaping Girl. Although the final score was a bit closer this week, the end result was still the same, with their third consecutive loss. The team is going in the wrong direction, with this week featuring their lowest score of the year. Only two players even made it into double digits(Drew Brees and Dalvin Cook), with the rest of the team in the decent but not outstanding category. What it will take to fix this roster is beyond me, and with David Johnson out long term, this season may well be a lost cause. Week 3 Scoring(lost to Tailwaggerz 70.7-86.6) QB Drew Brees(20.8 points) RB LeSean McCoy(6.9 points) RB Ty Montgomery(5 points) WR Dez Bryant(7.2 points) WR DeAndre Hopkins(7.6 points) TE Jason Witten(0.3 points) RB Dalvin Cook(22.9 points) K Justin Tucker(1 po

No Mercy 2017 Recap

On September 17th, 2017, exactly one week ago, the wrestling world was lit afire with the news that legendary manager and color commentator, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan had passed away. There are many ways to describe Heenan's influence on the business: revolutionary, game-changing and history defining would be just three. For someone like myself, not around during his glory days, creating a tribute for the man is quite difficult. I wish I could tell you that he changed my life or defined my childhood but I cannot. What I can tell you is what I've seen and what I've heard throughout my own time as a wrestling fan. Bobby Heenan was quite simply the best. His charisma was unbeatable, his wit unparalleled, his abilities unmatched. He could made fans care, he made performers care and he was never afraid to make himself look bad at the expense of others. Many have tried to fill his shoes; they all have failed. Because on September 17th, 2017, we bid goodbye to the greates

My No Mercy 2017 Preview

In the past on this blog, I've down quite a few "predictions" posts, starting at the Royal Rumble at the beginning of the year, with the last one for Great Balls of Fire in July. I've not one of those posts for the past two shows, mostly because I didn't have time, but partly because I just wasn't very interested. I'm just not the type of person to care if my predictions are right or wrong, I just feel like talking about the current product. With that in mind, I'll now be moving to "preview" posts instead, where I analyze each match without any real care about the outcome. Let's get to it then. Pre-Show- Apollo Crews vs Elias Titus Worldwide has been a pretty consistently great part of Raw for months now, but they've yet to be pushed to anything approaching the top level just yet. There's a lot of potential in this stable, and with Elias set in his role as a lower card heat magnet, maybe's it's finally Apollo'

South Park "Put It Down" Review

Before we get into this review, I wanted to let you guys know what the future looks like for this blog. I'm really enjoying the Dog League coverage I've been doing, so that and these review will continue. This Saturday, my pay-per-view predictions will return with No Mercy 2017. I'm also looking at doing a bit of a round-up/recap of Henry's Universe Mode, maybe running down some stats for the series. Speaking of Universe Mode, there will be a teaser released for the new series close to the release of 2k18. Enjoy! When I read the preview for this episode, I have to say that I groaned inwardly. The Tweek-Craig relationship is about as underdeveloped as it could possibly get, having taken a backseat to other, more important storylines over the past season and a half. That being said, even a cynic can be won over, and I have to say that I loved this episode. It just felt so much more focused than last week, and although there was some amount of political commentary, po

The Dog League: Week 3 Preview(2017 Season)

It's the biggest week in the Dog League so far this season, as two undefeated teams collide, with Tug of War taking on the Ridiculous Rascals. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl Coming off of a blowout loss and falling back down to last place, there were changes in store for Leaping Girl this week. In came Ty Montgomery and Jason Witten, and out went Mark Ingram and the struggling Jordan Reed. Both men went right into the starting line-up, with Montgomery replacing the banged up DeMarco Murray and Witten taking the spot of Delanie Walker, who draws a tough match-up this week against Seattle. Dez Bryant also came into the line-up for Amari Cooper, as Arizona's defense has struggled so far this season. Week 3 Starting Line-Up(vs Tailwaggerz) QB Drew Brees RB LeSean McCoy RB Ty Montgomery WR Dez Bryant WR DeAndre Hopkins TE Jason Witten RB Dalvin Cook K Justin Tucker DEF Seattle Seahawks Tailwaggerz

The Dog League: Week 2 Review(2017 Season)

It's time to recap Week 2 of the Dog League season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Tailwaggerz After getting blown out last week, it was a much closer affair for Tailwaggerz in Week 2, although the result was still the same. Much of their downfall came from playing three starters(Jordan Howard, Jordy Nelson, Jimmy Graham) that all combined for less than one point. There were positives to take away from the game, though, and the main one was overall top scorer Tom Brady, who rebounded from Week 1. The overall close score and games elsewhere did mean that Tailwaggerz actually moved up in the standings, to third place. Week 2 Scoring(lost to Ridiculous Rascals 89.38-98.9) QB Tom Brady(30.78 points) RB Le'Veon Bell(9.1 points) RB Jordan Howard(0.7 points) WR Jordy Nelson(0 points) WR Mike Evans(15.3 points) TE Jimmy Graham(0.1 points) WR Doug Baldwin(4.4 points) K Stephen Gostkowski(12 points) DEF Baltimore Ravens(

South Park "White People Renovating Houses" Review

It's been nine months since my last South Park review, and I have to say that it's good to be back. Interestingly enough, this is my 21st South Park review on this blog, and it just so happens to be the premiere of Season 21. Let's get to it. With such a long break between episodes, there was plenty of content for South Park to cover. With all the different options for what to cover, I have to say that I was disappointed to see Matt and Trey go down the politics route. After a whole season of politics last year, and plenty the year before, I was hoping for something a little different to kick things off. In their benefit, though, South Park at least kept their main storyline fairly topical, as the show jumps right into the topic of white supremacy, mostly involving the town's resident rednecks. These episodes can work("Goobacks" from Season 8 is a great example), but I wasn't really feeling this one. For the most part, this episode didn't reall

The Dog League: Week 2 Preview(2017 Season)

Welcome back to the Dog League. I rejoin you once more to run through the roster changes and starting line-ups heading into Week 2 of the season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Tailwaggerz We open things up with Tailwaggerz, who are currently last place thanks to their horrid Week 1 performance. Changes were afoot, as Stefon Diggs and the Baltimore Ravens defense were added off the waiver wire, in exchange for the injured Allen Robinson and the Texans defense. Mike Evans re-entered the starting line-up after his first week bye, while Seahawks Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham will get starting roles as well, thanks to a match-up at home against the 49ers. Week 2 Starting Line-Up(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Tom Brady RB Le'Veon Bell RB Jordan Howard WR Jordy Nelson WR Mike Evans TE Jimmy Graham WR Doug Baldwin K Stephen Gostkowski DEF Baltimore Ravens Leaping Girl Leaping Girl had the biggest decision to mak

The Dog League: Week 1 Review(2017 Season)

With one week down, welcome back to the Dog League. Let's recap the opening week of the second season of Dog League football. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl It was a tough first week for Emma, who suffered a close loss to the Ridiculous Rascals in a game that saw first overall pick David Johnson go down with a wrist injury. She also had poor performances from the likes of Dez Bryant and Jordan Reed, and the team showed a serious lack of star power. Without any top performer, the future doesn't look too bright for Leaping Girl. Week 1 Scoring(lost to Ridiculous Rascals 79.74-87.02) QB Drew Brees(15.64 points) RB LeSean McCoy(15.9 points) RB David Johnson(7.1 points) WR Dez Bryant(4.3 points) WR Amari Cooper(12.2 points) TE Jordan Reed(3.6 points) RB DeMarco Murray(6 points) K Justin Tucker(8 points) DEF Seattle Seahawks(7 points) Tailwaggerz There's no nice way to say this: Tailwaggerz were

The Dog League: Week 1 Preview(2017 Season)

First off, sorry for the lack of content recently. Since the end of Henry's Universe Mode, I've not done a whole lot with the blog, but I do hope to have some new content out soon. We start here, with the preview for Week 1 of the Dog League, as I run down any changes to the teams since the Draft and lineups for the opening week of the season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom Fantasy Football league run on NFL.com) Leaping Girl We start with Emma's Leaping Girl side, who has seen no change from her drafted team. She seems pretty satisfied with her roster, at least for now, although she did make one change to her line-up, bringing in Amari Cooper to replace T.Y. Hilton. Week 1 Starting Line-Up(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Drew Brees RB David Johnson RB LeSean McCoy WR Dez Bryant WR Amari Cooper TE Jordan Reed RB DeMarco Murray K Justin Tucker DEF Seattle Seahawks Tailwaggerz Up next is Bucky's Tailwaggerz, who made the first waiver move of the
