The Dog League: Week 1 Preview(2017 Season)

First off, sorry for the lack of content recently. Since the end of Henry's Universe Mode, I've not done a whole lot with the blog, but I do hope to have some new content out soon. We start here, with the preview for Week 1 of the Dog League, as I run down any changes to the teams since the Draft and lineups for the opening week of the season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom Fantasy Football league run on NFL.com)

Leaping Girl

We start with Emma's Leaping Girl side, who has seen no change from her drafted team. She seems pretty satisfied with her roster, at least for now, although she did make one change to her line-up, bringing in Amari Cooper to replace T.Y. Hilton.

Week 1 Starting Line-Up(vs Ridiculous Rascals)

QB Drew Brees
RB David Johnson
RB LeSean McCoy
WR Dez Bryant
WR Amari Cooper
TE Jordan Reed
RB DeMarco Murray
K Justin Tucker
DEF Seattle Seahawks

Tailwaggerz

Up next is Bucky's Tailwaggerz, who made the first waiver move of the season, picking up Kirk Cousins in exchange for Joe Mixon. With Tom Brady scheduled to face a tough Kansas City team on Thursday, the starting quarterback position will be in doubt up until game time. With Mike Evans out for Week 1 thanks to Hurricane Irma, Lamar Miller moved into the starting line-up.

Week 1 Starting Line-Up(vs Tug of War)

QB Tom Brady
RB Le'Veon Bell
RB Jordan Howard
WR Michael Thomas
WR Jordy Nelson
TE Greg Olsen
RB Lamar Miller
K Stephen Gostkowski
DEF Houston Texans

Ridiculous Rascals

The third team on our preview is the Ridiculous Rascals, who have had a tough preseason to say the least. They did receive some good news on Tuesday, with Ezekiel Elliott scheduled to play in Week 1. However, they are going to be missing Andrew Luck, so they brought in Dak Prescott to start in his place, dropping Isaiah Crowell. As Jay Ajayi is off in Week 1, Marshawn Lynch will take his spot in the swing role. Update: with Odell Beckham ruled out for Sunday Night, Demaryius Thomas will start for Rascal on Monday.

Week 1 Starting Line-Up(vs Leaping Girl)

QB Dak Prescott
RB Ezekiel Elliott
RB Melvin Gordon
WR Odell Beckham
WR Brandin Cooks
TE Rob Gronkowski
RB Marshawn Lynch
K Matt Bryant
DEF Denver Broncos

Tug of War

We finish off this preview with the defending champions, Trinket's Tug of War. Trinket made a hell of a call for Week 1, dropping Aaron Rodgers to the bench, as he face a poor match-up against the Seahawks, and starting Matt Ryan against a sub-par Bears defense. He also activated Option C(see below), bringing in Kareem Hunt for the injured Spencer Ware.

Week 1 Starting Line-Up(vs Tailwaggerz)

QB Matt Ryan
RB Devonta Freeman
RB Todd Gurley
WR Antonio Brown
WR Julio Jones
TE Travis Kelce
WR A.J. Green
K Dan Bailey
DEF Kansas City Chiefs

(Option C is a special consideration handed out by the commissioner of the league. It states that, should a player be "out injured", the team he is on is given the option to add any player from his position on his NFL team, without having to go through the waiver wire).

Thank you for joining me for this breakdown of each team before the league's opening week. What does 2017 hold for the Dog League? It's time to find out!

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
