The Dog League: Week 2 Review(2017 Season)

It's time to recap Week 2 of the Dog League season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Tailwaggerz

After getting blown out last week, it was a much closer affair for Tailwaggerz in Week 2, although the result was still the same. Much of their downfall came from playing three starters(Jordan Howard, Jordy Nelson, Jimmy Graham) that all combined for less than one point. There were positives to take away from the game, though, and the main one was overall top scorer Tom Brady, who rebounded from Week 1. The overall close score and games elsewhere did mean that Tailwaggerz actually moved up in the standings, to third place.

Week 2 Scoring(lost to Ridiculous Rascals 89.38-98.9)

QB Tom Brady(30.78 points)
RB Le'Veon Bell(9.1 points)
RB Jordan Howard(0.7 points)
WR Jordy Nelson(0 points)
WR Mike Evans(15.3 points)
TE Jimmy Graham(0.1 points)
WR Doug Baldwin(4.4 points)
K Stephen Gostkowski(12 points)
DEF Baltimore Ravens(17 points)

Leaping Girl

Another week, another loss for a Leaping Girl squad that is steadily going backwards. The big problem this week is that nobody really bothered to even show up for the game, with only two players(Drew Brees and Delanie Walker) getting into double digits. It's also worth noting that Leaping Girl also left 15 points from Alshon Jeffery and almost 12 points from Dez Bryant on her bench. Emma's got to get things sorted out, and soon, or else this will be a sinking ship.

Week 2 Scoring(lost to Tug of War 72.54-124.78)

QB Drew Brees(22.24 points)
RB LeSean McCoy(4.3 points)
RB DeMarco Murray(2.8 points)
WR DeAndre Hopkins(7.3 points)
WR Amari Cooper(3.3 points)
TE Delanie Walker(12.2 points)
RB Dalvin Cook(6.4 points)
K Justin Tucker(6 points)
DEF Seattle Seahawks(8 points)

Ridiculous Rascals

It hasn't been pretty, but Ridiculous Rascals are now 2-0 on the season. They were down by over 50 points early on Sunday, but crawled all the way back, with Matt Bryant delivering the win with 14 points on Sunday night. With only three players in single digits, this was a strong team performance by the second best team in the league. Jordy Nelson's injury in that Sunday night game was a serious asterisk in the win for Rascal, as was Ezekiel Elliott's poor game, but Rascal has to be happy with this game as a whole.

Week 2 Scoring(won against Tailwaggerz 98.9-89.38)

QB Derek Carr(21.2 points)
RB Melvin Gordon(13.8 points)
RB Ezekiel Elliott(2.2 points)
WR Brandin Cooks(4.3 points)
WR Tyreek Hill(4.9 points)
TE Rob Gronkowski(17.6 points)
RB Marshawn Lynch(10.9 points)
K Matt Bryant(14 points)
DEF Arizona Cardinals(10 points)

Tug of War

If anything, Week 2 proved that no one is ready for Tug of War. It was another easy win from the defending champs, with the result never in doubt. Todd Gurley and Kareem Hunt led the way, with only Antonio Brown and Dan Bailey finishing in single digits. Impressively, the bench put up 71 points as well, proving that this team has no really weaknesses. How do you defeat Tug of War?

Week 2 Scoring(won against Leaping Girl 124.78-72.54)

QB Matt Ryan(14.88 points)
RB Todd Gurley(23.6 points)
RB Kareem Hunt(22.9 points)
WR Julio Jones(10.8 points)
WR Antonio Brown(6.2 points)
TE Travis Kelce(16.3 points)
RB Leonard Fournette(12.1 points)
K Dan Bailey(7 points)
DEF Kansas City Chiefs(11 points)

Stay tuned later this week for the preview to Week 3, which features the Ridiculous Rascals facing Tug of War in a top of the table clash.

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
