NBA 2k19: The New Millennium(Introduction)

It's October 31st, 2000. The world has survived the Y2K bug; the computers have failed their hostile takeover and the internet is slowly taking the shape we know it today. The Playstation 2 released in March, while the Nintendo GameCube was revealed in August. In the world of sports, France followed up their World Cup win by conquering the Euros, and just five days ago, the Yankees were crowned the Kings of New York, defeating the Mets in six games. And in the National Basketball Association, new superstars are emerging.

In February, Vince Carter put on a show in the recently revived Slam Dunk contest, where he was joined by teammate and cousin Tracy McGrady, both representing the new breed of the sport. The dominant duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal each lifted their first championship, but their egos may lead to the team's downfall. Shaq was nearly the unanimous MVP, but had one vote stolen away from him by CNN's Fred Hickman, who instead cast his first place vote for the 76ers' Allen Iverson. New rookies like Elton Brand, Lamar Odom, Shawn Marion and Ron Artest represent the incredible influx of talent on the wings, incredibly physical players with unmatched athleticism. The draft saw another name added to that list, as Kenyon Martin was selected first overall by the New Jersey Nets. With so many moving pieces, careers to be defined and legacies to be fulfilled, we arrive here, to tip-off a new season of basketball. It's October 31st, Halloween night, in the year 2000. It's time to begin The New Millennium.

Henry's Note-

I hope I did this time period justice. I was, after all, only a year and a half old at this time, so there's no way for me to deliver an authentic experience. Credit to Wikipedia for saving my ass.

So, this is a simulation done on NBA 2k19. I'm using a custom roster made by Katunga90, which you can download if you're on the PS4. It's a great roster, really in-depth, one of the best historic rosters in my opinion. The goal here is to simulate all the way to the present, with me giving you updates along the journey, as history is re-written. Hopefully you enjoy the ride.

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

Henry's Universe Mode: 2017 WWE Draft

We are here today to conduct the first ever WWE Draft, where Raw and SmackDown competitors will learn the fates heading into Season 3 of Henry's Universe Mode. In this post, I will give an explanation of the rules, before unveiling each draft pick and giving you my thoughts. Enjoy! Rules -Each brand will have five draft picks, ten picks total. -Champions are not eligible to be drafted. -Tag teams/stables can be drafted as a unit or individuals, depending on what the GM wants and what the wrestler wants. -Thanks to winning Brand Warfare, SmackDown will get the first pick, while Raw will get the last pick. The 2017 WWE Draft begins..........right now! Pick #1- SmackDown selects Brock Lesnar What a way to start of the draft, as the Beast Incarnate in heading to Tuesday Nights. Since losing to Samoa Joe a few weeks ago on Raw, we haven't seen anything from Brock Lesnar. This move will certainly have most of the SmackDown roster looking over their shoulder. ...

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
