American Dad "An Irish Goodbye" Review

American Dad dunks all over Frontier Airlines this week, and well I could just finish the review here and call it a day, I suppose I should put up the appearance of effort. "An Irish Goodbye" is not too dissimilar to last week's "Wild Women Do", as Francine once again needs a break from Stan's wackiness. I will say, it's probably fine to do two episodes in a row with similar plots, but it better be leading to something. Anyway, while Jeff and Stan are off playing Davy Crockett, Francine sneaks off and an intrigued Hayley follows her mother. Hayley finds out that Francine let's off a little steam at an airport bar named O'Rivals, the name of which is simultaneously the best and worst part of this episode. Francine performs a really bad musical number, and convinces Hayley to join her. When large quantities of Bud Light aren't enough to forget her problems, Francine starts a bar fight, and it's incredibly fun to watch the pair k

The Revolution Returns...

With Henry's Universe Mode on indefinite hiatus, I took some time over the past week to think about what I wanted to do next. In the end, I decided that wrestling needs to be a part of my blog, so I began the process of deciding what type of series I should try. I thought about doing something with TEW 2016, a game I had hyped a series on over a year ago, but decided against it since there is a new TEW coming out next year, so no series could last for a long time. With my options no longer text-based, I considered doing a lot of different things, including, ironically, bringing Henry's Universe Mode back in a different format. But in the end, there was really only one choice. "You've seen us in many forms through the years. You've seen the talent we produced, and the stars that we created. You've cheered our heroes, and booed our villains, and cared about our stories. You've seen us rise and fall, persevere through adversary and come back from the brink

American Dad "Wild Women Do" Review

Well now the title sounds like wild women are doing this week's review of American Dad. At least to my knowledge, I'm not wild or a woman, so this is going to be my toughest test yet. "Wild Women Do" has a very simple premise, one that we've seen countless times on this show. There have been a ton of wild night/bender-esque episode plots, mostly involving Stan and Francine either individually or together, but where this episode succeeds is by utilizing the fresh combination of Francine and Jeff. Stan needs to get his sleep apnea treated, and must rely on his son-in-law to take his wife out on date night. Straight away, we get my favorite part of the episode, as Stan teaches Jeff what he can and can't allow Francine to do. There are numerous great lines in here, especially over Jeff's inability to accept not being in Stan's metaphor, and all of it had me chuckling. It's worth watching this episode just for this scene alone. The main conflict h

The Dog League: 2019 Draft Recap(Part 3)

Welcome to the third and final part of my breakdown of the 2019 Dog League Draft. In this part, we take a look at Bark Force and Leaping Girl, two teams that ended last year in dismal fashion. The Dog League: 2019 Draft Recap(Part 1)

Welcome to the first of a three part breakdown of the 2019 Dog League Draft. The draft officially kicks off the fourth year of Dog League competition, and the second with these current teams. We start off with the teams pick first and second, Tug of War and Ridiculous Rascals. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) (Henry's Note: Apparently, I accidentally set the draft to be 17 rounds, when it should have been 16. I don't know how this happened, but it did. Because of that, every team has one player more than they should, and will be required to be down to 16 players by Week 2) Tug of War 1st Round, 1st Overall- RB Saquon Barkley 2nd Round, 12th Overall- WR Michael Thomas 3rd Round, 13th Overall- RB Joe Mixon 4th Round, 24th Overall- WR Keenan Allen 5th Round, 25th Overall- TE Zach Ertz 6th Round, 36th Overall- RB Damien Williams 7th Round, 37th Overall- QB Andrew Luck 8th Round, 48th Overall- DEF Minnesota Vikings 9th

American Dad "The Hall Monitor and the Lunch Lady" Review

Sorry for being a day late with this. I was busy doing fantasy football stuff yesterday and just didn't have the motivation to sit down and write this out. But motivation is easy to come by when you get to watch another round of poisoning and brutal murder. I'm not a sadist, I promise. "The Hall Monitor and the Lunch Lady" wastes no time getting to the main conflict, as Klaus takes over as the new lunch lady at Steve's school just in time for students to start puking. Suspicious of a conspiracy, Steve and Klaus team up with the returning Detective Turlington to get to the bottom of it. Straight away, it's a very interesting premise, one that could go a number of ways. Steve goes undercover, and it's here that he starts to lose all agency as a character. Steve is just thrown into one situation after another, and his mission keeps progressing, mostly due to luck rather than actual skill. He's quickly accepted into Principal Lewis' troop of hall

The Dog League: New Changes for the 2019 Season

Next week, on Tuesday, June 11th, the 2019 Dog League Draft will take place. You will see the results of said draft posted here on my blog in the days following, but I have business to get to before then. Last year in the Dog League, we introduced two new expansions teams, the Rare Woofs and Bark Force. This year, I have though up some new rule and scoring changes, putting careful thought into every decision I made. Obviously, this is a trial run, one that may not work out. Even if these new changes don't catch on, every team will be subject to both the positive and negative effects, so there will be no special advantage. With that said, let's get to it. Rule Changes - One new bench spot for each team's roster; can be used on DEF or Kicker ONLY-  The title of this section is patently untrue, as I only have one rule change for this year. As you'll see later in this post, a ton of scoring changes are done to increase the importance of defenses and kickers, and

American Dad "The Long March" Review

You know, I can relate to the tough life on an Instagram influencer. I spend over 2-3 hours a week, that's right, every single week, slaving over my keyboard. I can only eat when I'm not working, or am working, or just whenever. I only sleep about 8 hours a night, and sometimes, someone forces me to wake up before 10 AM. 10, can you believe it? The real victims of life are bloggers, man. If you would like to save me and many others from this miserable existence, please donate today. "The Long March" is a Hayley and Jeff episode, and a lot of those have flopped big time in recent seasons. But don't worry, dear reader, because I'm here today to tell you that this one was also not very good. I did enjoy the first act of the episode, as Hayley is promoted at work, which Stan is over the moon about. Stan revels in the trappings of corporate life to his daughter, and then disappears, never to be seen again. Some say they can still hear him wandering around the

Blog Update- June 2019

If I have one glaring weakness in my life, it's my inability to admit I have more than one glaring weakness. But of many weaknesses, one of the ones that has caused me a lot of trouble on this blog and life in general is my inability to commit to anything. I don't know if any of you share the same issue, but I jump from hobby to hobby, idea to idea on a dime. It's what has led me to cancel many different series on this blog, and has partially led me to what I have to say today. This is not something I every wanted to say, and I can't stress that enough. I need you to know that this was a last resort, a desperation move to fix something that is truly, fundamentally, broken. But I need to say it, even if I don't want to. I've pulled the plug on Henry's Universe Mode. It doesn't take much effort to realize that I've gone big on this effort, as all posts following WrestleMania III have now been completely depleted, as well as the links I put on my Twi
