The Dog League: Week 3 Preview(2019 Season)

Leaping Girl and Rare Woofs look to keep their winning streaks alive in Week 3. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Bark Force

Current Record: (0-2, 6th place)

Bark Force open the week by handing out a starting job to Aaron Jones, who was magnificent last week(25 points) as he starts over Matt Breida. They drop O.J. Howard to acquire Greg Olsen, who starts over Delanie Walker, and drop the Panthers defense to pick up the Cowboys, who start with an excellent match-up against the hapless Dolphins. Finally, Duke Johnson was dropped for Peyton Barber, who has solidified the lead role in Tampa Bay and the largely underwhelming Stefon Diggs was dropped for rookie Terry McLaurin.

Week 3 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals)

QB Patrick Mahomes
RB Todd Gurley
RB Nick Chubb
WR DeAndre Hopkins
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster
TE Greg Olsen
RB Aaron Jones
K Justin Tucker
DEF Dallas Cowboys

Tug of War

Current Record: (0-2, 5th place)

Two tough losses to begin the year have forced Tug of War to make a quarterback change, and it's a big one, as Jacoby Brissett is dropped for Dak Prescott, who starts this week over Philip Rivers. They also drop DeSean Jackson to pick up Emmanuel Sanders, who starts in the flex spot over Damien Williams, who was dropped for D.J. Chark, and start the Vikings defense over the Texans, as they get set to host the Raiders. Finally, Robert Woods was dropped for John Brown, who has been the beneficiary of a good start to the year from Josh Allen.

Week 3 Starting Lineup(vs Rare Woofs)

QB Dak Prescott
RB Derrick Henry
RB Saquon Barkley
WR Keenan Allen
WR Michael Thomas
TE Zach Ertz
WR Emmanuel Sanders
K Greg Zuerlein
DEF Minnesota Vikings

Tailwaggerz

Current Record: (1-1, 4th place)

After such an amazing start to the year with a 200 point performance against Tug of War, Tailwaggerz came back to Earth, failing to even reach triple digits last week. They get a new backup quarterback going forward, as the injured Drew Brees was dropped for exciting rookie Kyler Murray, while they start Sony Michel over Josh Jacobs, as Michel faces the Jets in a game that could get him a lot of rushing volume. The injured A.J. Green was let go, as Tailwaggerz brings in veteran Larry Fitzgerald. They also drop Austin Hooper for Jason Witten and pick up the Packers defense for the Bills, as they face Joe Flacco and the Broncos.

UPDATE: With T.Y. Hilton questionable and in a poor matchup against the Falcons, Tailwaggerz will start Larry Fitzgerald this week, as he face a Panthers team that could struggle mightily without Cam Newton.

Week 3 Starting Lineup(vs Leaping Girl)

QB Deshaun Watson
RB David Johnson
RB Alvin Kamara
WR Larry Fitzgerald
WR Odell Beckham
TE Evan Engram
RB Sony Michel
K Harrison Butker
DEF Green Bay Packers

Ridiculous Rascals

Current Record: (1-1, 3rd place)

With a solid, healthy roster in place, there were no big moves to be made for Rascal this week. He got a new backup tight end, dropping T.J. Hockenson to pick up Darren Waller, and brought in not one but two new kickers. Previous starter Ka'imi Fairbairn was dropped for Brett Maher, and the Eagles defense was dropped for Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro, though it will be Maher who gets the start this week against the Dolphins. Rascal also brought in a new backup running back, dropping Leonard Fournette to pick up Raheem Mostert.

Week 3 Starting Lineup(vs Bark Force)

QB Aaron Rodgers
RB Ezekiel Elliott
RB James Conner
WR Julio Jones
WR Adam Thielen
TE Mark Andrews
WR Sammy Watkins
K Brett Maher
DEF Tennessee Titans

Rare Woofs

Current Record: (2-0, 2nd place)

Rare Woofs get entangled with the Carolina Panthers in their Week 3 moves, as they drop Cam Newton to pick up Jimmy Garoppolo and D.J. Moore is let go in favor of Demarcus Robinson. One Panthers player does come in, as kicker Joey Slye was added for the Chargers defense, as Rare Woofs want insurance for starter Wil Lutz in case the Saints' offense struggled under new quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. They do make one lineup change, as Julian Edelman gives up his flex spot to Kenny Golladay, who comes off a magnificent game(25.7 points). They also drop Devin Singletary, who is struggling with a hamstring injury, to add the red hot John Ross. Finally, with backup tight end David Njoku in concussion protocol, they drop Njoku to add Hunter Henry, as they attempt to stash Henry while he remains out injured.

Week 3 Starting Lineup(vs Tug of War)

QB Tom Brady
RB Dalvin Cook
RB Christian McCaffrey
WR Davante Adams
WR Amari Cooper
TE Travis Kelce
WR Kenny Golladay
K Wil Lutz
DEF San Francisco 49ers

Leaping Girl

Current Record: (2-0, 1st place)

With two wins in a row to start the year, Leaping Girl faced a big choice at quarterback this week, and made an aggressive move. She benches starter Russell Wilson, and starts Lamar Jackson, as he goes into one of the biggest games of the week against the Chiefs. With limited options available, she also picks up a new running back in the ageless Frank Gore, dropping Devonta Freeman and moving Gore into the starting lineup over Mark Ingram.

UPDATE: With Antonio Brown now released by the Patriots, Emma will start Chris Godwin this week, as she feels that going against the Giants, both Buccaneers receivers have a good chance for a big game. She also has decided to let Brown go for a second time, bringing back Josh Gordon.

Week 3 Starting Lineup(vs Tailwaggerz)

QB Lamar Jackson
RB Le'Veon Bell
RB Austin Ekeler
WR Mike Evans
WR Chris Godwin
TE George Kittle
RB Frank Gore
K Stephen Gostkowski
DEF New England Patriots

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
