British Strong Style vs TM-61
The impressive duo of Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne were in action once more under the watchful eye of William Regal. Although Shane Thorne and Nick Miller put up a hell of a fight, perhaps the best anyone has looked against the young Brits thus far, they were felled with a vicious gutbuster/punt kick combo.
Afterward, Regal announced that in two weeks, on the August 2nd edition of NXT, Dunne and Bate will take on one of the best unsigned tag teams in the world today. The winners will be the new number one contenders, and face the Authors of Pain at the next Takeover show.
Winners: British Strong Style
Natalya vs Ruby Riot
NXT's Women's Champion would be in for a fight in this non-title match, as she faced the debuting Ruby Riot. This fiery youngster fought with everything in her arsenal, and kept pace with the champ throughout most of the match. She got a few near falls of her own, and survived some big moves from Natalya, including a sit-out powerbomb. In the end, she was forced to tap out to the Sharpshooter.
However, the Queen of Harts' night was far from over, as Ember Moon charged the ring, looking for revenge. She nailed Natalya with the middle rope stunner, and for the second week in a row, the champion was staring up at the lights.
Winner: Natalya
Adam Cole Promo
Adam Cole Bay Bay then got on the mic, calling out Apollo Crews. He made it simple, as he wanted another match to settle the score next week. Crews accepted, but only if Cole's championship match was on the line. Cole agreed to the terms, and the match is on.
Brian Kendrick vs Drew McIntyre
The Sinister Scotsman was in action as he took on Brian Kendrick, who tried to use his speed and athleticism throughout the match. It made little difference on the outcome, as McIntyre just blitzed right on through, hitting the Future Shock for the win.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
Sanity vs Kassius Ohno and Hideo Itami
A lot of questions surrounded this match and specifically the team of Ohno and Itami. Although both men are accomplished singles wrestlers, how they would work as a tag team would decide this match. From the start, it was clear that Eric Young and Killian Dain were in control, as they made continuous tags and connected on some nice offense. They worked down Hideo for long periods of time, and got in some cheap shots on Ohno to prevent the tag. But they forgot to account for Itami's best weapon, as he hit another GTS on Young to steal the win.
Afterward, Hideo got in the face of Kassius Ohno, upset that he had to do all the work. Ohno tried to make amends, but the NXT Champion was having none of it. In a shocking turn, he delivered another GTS to his own partner, before walking to the back amid showers of boos.
Winners: Kassius Ohno and Hideo Itami
