It's the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania, as 30 superstars compete to earn a world championship match in the main event of the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Royal Rumble 2019 Card
Asuka(c) vs Bayley- SmackDown Women's Championship Match
With her friendship with Sasha Banks seemingly restored, Bayley is back in the title picture, and gets her shot at the Empress to open the Royal Rumble event. Is the Huggable One ready for Asuka?
Pete Dunne(c) vs Elias- United Kingdom Championship Match
The Drifter called out the UK Champion, and in a shocker, managed to pick up a win over Pete Dunne after grabbing the tights in a pinfall. Goldberg decided to give Elias a championship match, and added some additional incentive, as the winner will also be a part of the Royal Rumble.
The Woken Warriors(c) vs The Usos- SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
Jimmy and Jey Uso are finally back in a title match, picking up several crucial wins over the past few weeks. For as good as they have looked, Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy aren't as established a team as The Usos, but will they be able to retain their championships again?
Becky Lynch(c) vs Paige- Raw Women's Championship Match
Since becoming a three-time Raw Women's Champion, Becky Lynch has taken to calling herself "The Man", but runs into an old rival at the Royal Rumble. Lynch and Paige had an incredible feud in the summer of 2017, and the challenger will have plenty of momentum after recently returning from injury.
Kevin Owens(c) vs Daniel Bryan- WWE Championship Match
After losing his championship without being pinned, Daniel Bryan has been campaigning to get a chance to win it back, even bringing back the "Yes!" chant. This has irked Kevin Owens time and time again, to the point where he went to Edge and demanded Bryan receive a title match, so KO could shut him and his fans up for good.
Shinsuke Nakamura(c) vs Roman Reigns- Universal Championship Match
So many times, Roman Reigns has gotten close to breaking out, but remains without singles gold in Universe Mode. After this match was made official, Shinsuke told the world that Roman is a failure, and unfit to be champion. The champion's mind games seem to have gotten to the number one contender, but will Roman Reigns be able to finally get the job done?
The Royal Rumble Match
NXT: Like last year, NXT will be a part of the the Rumble, getting four spots in the match. After just hosting the Takeover event last night, who will Triple H choose to represent the brand?
RAW: The red brand has already announced some big names to compete, like Aleister Black, Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins and The Undertaker. But some interesting lesser used talent have qualified for the match, like Baron Corbin, Kofi Kingston and Shelton Benjamin, who picked up an upset win over last year's runner-up Randy Orton. Can Raw win the Rumble for the third year in a row?
SmackDown: All eyes are on the number 30 spot that SmackDown owns, which Edge is yet to reveal. Several competitors have attempted to suck up to the GM in hopes of getting that golden opportunity, but they seemed to have little success. Will it be a current member of the roster, or like a last year, a new signing who takes the 30th spot? I guess we'll have to find out when the clock strikes zero.
