Raw hosts it's first brand exclusive pay-per-view since May's Bad Blood as the fallout from Summerslam is felt on the red brand.
No Mercy 2019 Card
Shinsuke Nakamura vs ???
We open the show with the former Universal Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura as he hosts an open challenge. Since losing his title, Nakamura has been adrift, showing up at random and behaving in very odd ways, attacking members of the roster for no discernible reason. Goldberg called Nakamura out, hoping to get to the bottom of Shinsuke's strange behavior. Nakamura showed up to the ring to demand an open challenge, to prove that he is still capable of beating the best of the best. Who will Goldberg choose to face Raw's former champion?
Alexa Bliss vs Toni Storm
These two women have been butting heads quite frequently lately, all stemming from Alexa Bliss' resentment towards Toni Storm. Bliss was not pleased by how quickly Storm was able to get a title shot, and has made her displeasure known in multiple blindside attacks on Storm. Toni is more than ready to return fire, giving Alexa a black eye on the go-home show which led to Goldberg booking this match.
The Bar vs The Young Bucks
One of the biggest shocks of Summerslam was the arrival of Kenny Omega accompanied by Matt and Nick Jackson, cumulatively known as The Elite who went after the Undisputed Era. We'll see Omega in action later in the night, but Matt and Nick have a big match of their own against Cesaro and Sheamus, the former Raw Tag Team Champions. After being told by Goldberg that they would have to earn a tag title match, the Young Bucks challenged The Bar to this match, and the former champs accepted. On the go-home show, Matt and Nick defeated two local talents in a match that saw the new Raw signings clown around with their opponents, playing up to the crowd in an easy win. Afterward, Cesaro and Sheamus brought the cocky Young Bucks back down to earth in a vicious assault that saw Matt Jackson take a Brogue Kick.
Ruby Riott(c) vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Naomi- Raw Women's Championship Match
Becky, Charlotte and Naomi all earned title shots at Summerslam with their victory at Summerslam, leaving champion Ruby Riott in all kinds of jeopardy. But she got some momentum back in her corner with some extremely intelligent and cunning mind games. Riott approached Naomi, claiming that she was in the worst spot of the three, the only non-former champion and not nearly as close with the other two as they are with each other. Lynch and Flair admitted that their friendship could help both to get closer to winning the title, which led Naomi to demand the two face each other in a match, or she would consider an alliance with Riott. Charlotte took the match easy, not wanting to wear herself out or injure her friend before the pay-per-view. Becky was much more desperate, wanting so desperately to prove that she remains "The Man", and it cost her, as Flair countered a diving attack from Lynch with a big boot to score the win! Lynch didn't take the loss, refusing a handshake from Flair before locking in the Dis-arm-her, forcing Naomi to break things up, realizing that they had all been completely manipulated by Riott. But it was too little, too late, as Flair and Lynch yelled at each other, Naomi was caught in the middle and Riott watched it all from backstage, laughing to herself.
Kevin Owens vs Pete Dunne
A rematch from Bad Blood sees Kevin Owens face Pete Dunne, with the winner becoming number one contender to the Universal Championship. After defeating Steve Austin at Summerslam, Kevin Owens declared that the Stunner was "dead", just like the "Texas Rattlesnake". But Pete Dunne was far from gone, returning to a raucous reception, quickly charging after Owens who retreated. Dunne has been on a roll since his return, decimating The Miz and winning a battle of endurance with Ricochet, leaving Goldberg incredibly impressed. Raw's GM decided to make this match, knowing that the winner will be more than a match for the two monsters who fight in No Mercy's main event. On the go-home show, the two men came face to face, as Owens declared himself above the likes of Dunne, a true superstar, a WrestleMania main eventer, but Dunne brought him back to reality with a stiff forearm, before Dunne opened Owens up on the ground with kicks and strikes to the head, leaving KO in a bad state before the match.
Adam Cole(c) vs Kenny Omega- United States Championship Match
A dream match for many, but an absolute nightmare for Adam Cole. Kenny Omega has made it perfectly clear that The Elite have returned to prove that they are the best faction in wrestling today, not the Undisputed Era. In his first night on Raw, Omega once again came face to face with Cole, this time backstage as both groups were separated by security. Omega would face former rival AJ Styles on Raw, a reliving on their legendary rival on SmackDown, though one that went very different to normal. In mere minutes, Omega quickly put Styles away, showcasing a level of aggressiveness that we've never seen from him before. Cole has tried everything to convince Goldberg not to book this match, but the Raw GM has had enough of Cole's antics. Goldberg not only booked the match, but banned all members of both groups from ringside, making sure this would be a fair fight. Adam Cole has wriggled his way out of every predicament throughout his title reign, and did defeat Kassius Ohno at Summerslam without help, but this is a different challenge altogether. Will it be Goodbye and Goodnight for Adam Cole at No Mercy?
Aleister Black(c) vs Bray Wyatt- Universal Championship Match
The horrifying scene at the end of Summerslam was that of "The Fiend", the unhinged monster that absolutely destroyed Universal Champion Aleister Black. On the Raw following that fateful night, Bray Wyatt hosted the first ever "Firefly Fun House", where he apologized to Black for what had taken place, saying that "The Fiend" had taken control of him and he had no choice but to obey. He encouraged Black to just give up, as "The Fiend" desired complete control of everything on Raw and would not stop until it had taken control of the Universal Championship. Wyatt would continue to send dire messages to Black to hand over his title while also introducing the fans to the hellscape that is his mind with more skits and promos in the Fun House. Finally, two weeks ago, Aleister Black returned to Raw, and declared that he would never hand over his title, preferring instead to put it on the line at No Mercy so that he could defeat "The Fiend" and send this monster packing. Not wanting anything to do with these two demented individuals, Goldberg made the match official. On the go-home show, Wyatt appeared on the Fun House once again, promising that "The Fiend" would make it's first appearance on Raw later in the night to confront Black. Showing no fear, Black would take a seat in the center of the ring, and await his fate. "The Fiend" would stalk Black all around the ring, appearing first in the corner, then right in front of the Universal Champion, staring him straight in the face. But Black never once blinked..............and sprung to his feet to deliver a Black Mass! The champion smirked, having out-smarted his prey, and posed, lifting his title high in the air. But the lights would go out again, and now "The Fiend" was right back up, completely unaffected! "The Fiend" would send Black to the floor with a big clothesline, before starting down at the Universal Championship as Raw came to a close...
