With a new number one team crowned in Week 4, and a few more critical injuries affecting teams, the Dog League prepares to enter the second month of the season with tides still shifting. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)
Growlers
Current Record: (1-3, 8th Place)
The Growlers time spent out of last place proved to be brief, as they got smoked by the Ridiculous Rascals in Week 4, and now find themselves once again at the bottom. That last place position allows them to score two of the biggest names on the waiver wire, as they drop Alexander Mattison and Ty'Son Williams to pick up Cordarrelle Patterson and Dalton Schultz. Patterson, off to an outstanding start in Atlanta, immediately heads into the starting lineup, while Schultz remains behind Tyler Higbee for now, though the starting tight end spot could still be up for grabs. Also potentially in flux is the flex spot, where incumbent starter Allen Robinson may end up being replaced by either Kenny Golladay or Damien Harris. At defense, the Growlers turn to the Patriots' unit, as they face the hapless Texans this week.
UPDATE: With Calvin Ridley out this week, Growlers will hope A.J. Brown can return to be their WR1.

Canine Comets
Current Record: (1-3, 7th Place)
The Comets finally got off the ground in Week 4 with a comprehensive demolition of Tug of War for their first win, as they remain the highest scoring team in the league. This week, they have to deal with potential injuries for both of their starting Seahawks skill players, Chris Carson and DK Metcalf. For now, both remain in the lineup, though Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Corey Davis will be on hand as injury replacements if necessary. At defense, the Comets will start the Buccaneers, and they made one waiver move this week, dropping JuJu Smith-Schuster to add Jamaal Williams, providing extra insurance should more injuries crop up in their running back corps.
UPDATE: With Chris Carson ruled out tonight, Clyde Edwards-Helaire will start for Canine Comets.

Tug of War
Current Record: (2-2, 6th Place)
Coming off a loss to Canine Comets in which they failed to reach 100 points, Tug of War makes a healthy amount of changes this week. Saquon Barkley re-enters the starting lineup as the RB2, sending Miles Sanders to the bench, while Tug of War hopes to have Tee Higgins back for Week 5, listing him as the flex starter over Odell Beckham. Tug of War makes three waiver moves, dropping Trevor Lawrence for Kirk Cousins, Devin Singletary for Jeremy McNichols, and the Chiefs defense for the Raiders. That Raiders defense is the only one listed as a starter, as they are an elite streaming option going against the Bears, while Cousins and McNichols sit on the bench. McNichols, by the way, was added due to his 21 targets thus far in 2021, as that could give him a lot of value in PPR scoring.
UPDATE: With George Kittle listed as doubtful, Tug of War will start Mike Gesicki in his place.

Leaping Girl
Current Record: (2-2, 5th Place)
Leaping Girl lost big to Rare Woofs last week, but her roster remains solid, so she is the first manager to make no waiver moves in advance of Week 5. She does two lineup changes, bringing in Ezekiel Elliott and Mike Evans to start over Courtland Sutton and Tyler Boyd, with D'Andre Swift bumping down to the flex. If Teddy Bridgewater was able to play this week, or Tee Higgins were to remain out, she might consider starting Sutton or Boyd over Swift, but for now, the Lions runner keeps his starting spot. At defense, she brings back in the Steelers, as they prepare to face Drew Lock.

Ridiculous Rascals
Current Record: (2-2, 4th Place)
Whoops, looks like I forgot Rascal in the initial post, and he's not happy, I've got lawyers breathing down my neck now. He's coming off a big win in Week 4, buoyed by a spectacular 47 point game from Tyreek Hill, who was all the key factor in his first win back in Week 1. Rascal seeks to prove he's more than a one-trick pony, but will likely have to do it without Joe Mixon, who seems to be in danger of missing this week. Rascal tinkers around with his lineup a bit, benching Mixon and Brandin Cooks to start Jonathan Taylor and Kareem Hunt, though the latter would likely be benched if Mixon can go. Rascal ensures the whole league sticks to changing defenses, as he brings in the Panthers to start this week, hoping they can rebound against the Eagles, dropping backup tight end Robert Tonyan in the process.
UPDATE: With news that Robert Woods will have more of a role in the Rams offense, Rascal elects to start him in the flex for tonight's game.

Rare Woofs
Current Record: (2-2, 3rd Place)
Rare Woofs plastered Leaping Girl en route to a 50 point win last week, but continued to struggle with the injury bug, as they lost another of their star running backs with David Montgomery going down. Montgomery is yet to be placed on IR, so Rare Woofs have been allowed a temporary hold on Damien Williams, his backup, for the rest of this week, with Williams able to be added when Montgomery can be placed in reserve. For now, Leonard Fournette takes Montgomery's starting spot, but he will likely lose it if Williams is added before Sunday. Outside of the running back situation, a change is made at tight end, with Noah Fant being benched thanks to the Bridgewater injury, leading to Mark Andrews taking back his starting spot. On defense, Rare Woofs drop the Panthers to add the Cowboys, who get the start this week after their elite play recently.
UPDATE: With David Montgomery now in the reserve, Rare Woofs have added Damien Williams, who starts over Leonard Fournette.

Bark Force
Current Record: (3-1, 2nd Place)
Bark Force saw their three-game winning streak and run atop the standings in the Dog League come to an end in Week 4, after terrible games from CeeDee Lamb and Marvin Jones, plus an early injury to Logan Thomas. Bouncing back this week will be essential, and they'll have to do so without Thomas, who heads to bench to recuperate, replaced by Jared Cook. Jones gets benched for Darrell Henderson, who could be excellent on Thursday night against the shaky Seahawks run defense if he comes in at full health. Bark Force joins the rest of the league making a change at defense, as they start the Ravens' unit over the Broncos.

Tailwaggerz
Current Record: (3-1, 1st Place)
While the win over Bark Force last week may have been due to their opponent's struggles rather than purely their own success, there's no doubt that Tailwaggerz are scarily good this year, and their hold on first place may not soon be relinquished. They'll look to tick their win streak up to four in Week 5, and make just one change in their starting lineup, ending this post off right by switching defenses, starting the Cardinals over the Colts, as Arizona might flourish with the uncertainty surrounding the 49ers' quarterback room.
UPDATE: With Dalvin Cook ruled out, Antonio Gibson will start as the RB2 of Tailwaggerz this week, with Najee Harris moving up to RB1.
