The Dog League: Week 6 Preview (2021 Season)

The see-saw battle over first place continued in Week 5 of the Dog League, while several more high-profile names picked up injuries. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)

Growlers

Current Record: (1-4, 8th Place)

For the first time, Growlers looked like a legitimate powerhouse last week, as big performances from Austin Ekeler, Josh Allen, and Mike Williams kept them in a hard-fought battle with Bark Force all the way to the end, before finally being beaten by Lamar Jackson on Monday night. This week, Growlers are once again very active on the waiver wire, dropping Damien Harris and Kenny Golladay to pick up Darrel Williams and Emmanuel Sanders. Williams and Sanders head straight into the starting lineup, taking the RB2 and flex spots respectively, while Growlers will also bring Dalton Schultz into their lineup as the new starting tight end. Growlers make one more change, this one on defense, dropping the Patriots to add the Bengals, who get the start with the Saints on bye. Growlers might need to bring in a new kicker at some point this week, as Rodrigo Blankenship's status is in doubt, but they'll wait to make a move for now.

UPDATE: With Blankenship on IR, Growlers have placed him in the reserve and added Matt Gay.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Tailwaggerz)

QB Josh Allen
RB Austin Ekeler
RB Darrel Williams
WR Mike Williams
WR A.J. Brown
TE Dalton Schultz
WR Emmanuel Sanders
K Matt Gay
DEF Cincinnati Bengals

Canine Comets

Current Record: (1-4, 7th Place)

The Comets were let down by a Sunday night injury from Clyde Edwards-Helaire that stopped their comeback attempt in it's tracks, instead dropping their fourth game of the year. The young Chiefs running back heads to the reserve this week, opening up a roster spot for the embattled Mason Crosby, who starts at kicker with Younghoe Koo on bye. The RB2 spot is taken by Jamaal Williams, though Chris Carson could audition for it if he's healthy enough to play this week.

UPDATE: With Nick Chubb ruled out, the Comets have dropped Corey Davis to add Devontae Booker, who gets the start this week.

UPDATE: Chris Carson has gone onto the reserve, and the Comets have now added Alex Collins in his place.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Rare Woofs)

QB Patrick Mahomes
RB Devontae Booker
RB Jamaal Williams
WR Diontae Johnson
WR DK Metcalf
TE Travis Kelce
WR Chris Godwin
K Mason Crosby
DEF Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tug of War

Current Record: (2-3, 6th Place)

Even the most average game from Saquon Barkley could've gotten Tug of War a critical win in a game that ended up dropping to the Ridiculous Rascals by a mere three points. Losing Barkley is tough, but Tug of War think they have a solid replacement in Zack Moss, who was added for Jeremy McNichols and will be called upon to start this week. Chase Claypool will get the start in the flex spot as he prepares to face Seattle, and Hunter Henry was added after George Kittle made his way to the reserve, though Henry will not start this week. At defense, Tug of War dropped the Raiders to pick up the Packers for a spot start.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Bark Force)

QB Tom Brady
RB Aaron Jones
RB Zack Moss
WR Amari Cooper
WR Marquise Brown
TE Mike Gesicki
WR Chase Claypool
K Tyler Bass
DEF Green Bay Packers

Ridiculous Rascals

Current Record: (3-2, 5th Place)

Rascal just about survived an injury to Russell Wilson and a poor performance by Chase Edmonds to scrape out a win last week, but now needs to deal with the fallout of Wilson being out. For now, Russ heads to the bench, with Baker Mayfield as the starting QB, though if Wilson goes on IR, Rascal might be adding a new top QB. Joe Mixon re-enters the lineup to start over Edmonds, and Kareem Hunt takes the flex spot from Robert Woods, as Rascal hopes that Cleveland's game against the Cardinals includes a lot of passing. Rascal drops the Panthers defense to add Hunter Renfrow, and will again start the Rams defense, as they have an elite matchup against the battered New York Giants.

UPDATE: Rascal has placed Russell Wilson in his reserve, adding Trevor Lawrence, who will start this week. Rascal has also benched Joe Mixon for Robert Woods.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Leaping Girl)

QB Baker Mayfield
RB Jonathan Taylor
RB Kareem Hunt
WR Tyreek Hill
WR Ja'Marr Chase
TE Darren Waller
WR Robert Woods
K Justin Tucker
DEF Los Angeles Rams

Leaping Girl

Current Record: (3-2, 4th Place)

Emma got lucky on Sunday night, as Kansas City struggled, leaving Canine Comets to fail in their comeback attempt, with Mahomes, an injured Edwards-Helaire, and Kelce not enough to evaporate Emma's big lead. Heading into a massive showdown with Rascal, she makes a clever play, putting the COVID-positive Dallas Goedert into her reserve, and adding Zach Ertz, who she will start this week over T.J. Hockenson. The plan is for Ertz to get plenty of targets as the Eagles need to keep pace with the high-flying Buccaneers offense, we'll see if it pans out. Her other new starter is Courtland Sutton, who gets the flex spot with D'Andre Swift bumping up to RB2 thanks to Alvin Kamara going on bye.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals)

QB Kyler Murray
RB Ezekiel Elliott
RB D'Andre Swift
WR DeAndre Hopkins
WR Mike Evans
TE Zach Ertz
WR Courtland Sutton
K Ryan Succop
DEF Pittsburgh Steelers

Tailwaggerz

Current Record: (3-2, 3rd Place)

Tailwaggerz lasted just a week as the top team in the Dog League, quickly knocked back down by a surging Rare Woofs squad who sealed victory with an unbelievable Monday night performance from Mark Andrews. Tailwaggerz makes no waiver moves and two lineup changes this week, starting Dawson Knox (as Kyle Pitts is on bye) and the Colts defense. If Dalvin Cook is able to play, we may see him enter the lineup in the days to come.

UPDATE: Tailwaggerz has decided to start Antonio Brown over Keenan Allen for tonight's game, hoping he can follow up on momentum from a big performance last week.

UPDATE: Dalvin Cook appears to be fully healthy, so Tailwaggerz will start him over Antonio Gibson.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Growlers)

QB Matthew Stafford
RB Najee Harris
RB Antonio Gibson
WR Cooper Kupp
WR Terry McLaurin
TE Dawson Knox
WR Antonio Brown
K Harrison Butker
DEF Indianapolis Colts

Rare Woofs

Current Record: (3-2, 2nd Place)

Rare Woofs caught fire last week, posting 181 points in a rout over Tailwaggerz, and have a chance to get Christian McCaffrey back this week, listing him as their RB1. If CMC is looking like he can't go, Rare Woofs will have the option to either go back to Chuba Hubbard, or bring in Leonard Fournette for tomorrow night.

UPDATE: With Damien Williams on the COVID-19 reserve list, Leonard Fournette will start for Rare Woofs this week.

UPDATE: With Christian McCaffrey ruled out this week, Rare Woofs will start Chuba Hubbard once again.

UPDATE: Both Williams and McCaffrey have now gone into the reserve, so Rare Woofs have added Khalil Herbert and Tony Pollard.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Canine Comets)

QB Justin Herbert
RB Leonard Fournette
RB Chuba Hubbard
WR Justin Jefferson
WR D.J. Moore
TE Mark Andrews
WR Stefon Diggs
K Greg Zuerlein
DEF Dallas Cowboys

Bark Force

Current Record: (4-1, 1st Place)

Bark Force is back, baby, entering their third week atop the Dog League standings, the most consistent team out there and the only one without multiple losses in their record thus far. They bring in a new starting tight end this week, moving Logan Thomas to the reserve to add Ricky Seals-Jones, his replacement in Washington, who starts over Jared Cook. They will also take a gamble on DeVonta Smith, who could be in for a huge game against Tampa Bay, benching Darrell Henderson in the process, and will also start the Broncos defense this week.

UPDATE: Bark Force has gone back on their decision to start Smith, going with Henderson instead.

Week 6 Starting Lineup(vs Tug of War)

QB Lamar Jackson
RB Derrick Henry
RB James Robinson
WR Davante Adams
WR CeeDee Lamb
TE Ricky Seals-Jones
RB Darrell Henderson
K Daniel Carlson
DEF Denver Broncos

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
