Henry's Universe Mode #89: SmackDown

After the announcement that Armageddon will take place this Sunday, SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan has booked two matches for that card. The first will see The Ascension, thanks to their win at Survivor Series against Team Undertaker, get an opportunity at the WWE Tag Team Titles when they take on the champs, American Alpha. The second will see a grudge match paid off as AJ Styles will challenge Tyson Kidd for the WWE Title, as the Phenomenal One looks to recapture the gold.

Tonight, in SmackDown's main event, Randy Orton and Cesaro look to settle their issues as they go one-on-one. After The Miz picked up a very dubious win over Baron Corbin a few weeks ago, Daniel Bryan has offered the Awesome One a shot at the gold. Tonight, Apollo Crews will meet Corbin in a rematch with the belt on the line, and the winner will face The Miz on Sunday. Two members of Sunday's competing tag teams go head to head when Chad Gable takes on Viktor. The Big Red Machine, Kane, will go one-on-one with the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus, and the monstrous Braun Strowman debuts, tonight on SmackDown.

Sheamus vs Kane

Sheamus looked to pick up a big win kicking off SmackDown, but unfortunately for him, Kane was very motivated after attacking his brother on last night on Raw. A chokeslam made short work of the Celtic Warrior.

After the match, though, Kane didn't have long to celebrate, as The Undertaker charged down the ramp to get him some. The two brothers continued their brawl, exchanging rights and lefts up the entrance ramp, before The Undertaker struck with a Tombstone Piledriver on the top of the stage. The Deadman sent a clear message, and later in the night it was announced that these two men will meet one more time at Armageddon: this time, though, it will be a Last Man Standing match.

Winner: Kane

Champion and Challenger Faced Off Once More

Last week it was Styles that called out the new champ, and this week it was Tyson that facilitated things. Very quickly, the former champion interrupted, and things quickly erupted into a war of words. To put it simply, Styles told Kidd that he didn't belong in his ring, and that Tyson being champion is an insult to the entire wrestling business. This understandably enraged Tyson, who challenged Styles to throw down right then and there, but with nothing at stake, the Phenomenal One was having none of it, leaving up the ramp to prepare for their one on one encounter on Sunday.

Braun Strowman vs Bo Dallas

Bo continued to campaign the Social Outcasts, an unknown cause that appears to be taking over social media, but that didn't much matter against the monstrous Strowman. Braun showed incredible power, just tossing Bo all over the ring before forcing him to submit with an elevated triangle choke. Not satisfied with just victory, though, he put Bo through the announce table with a gigantic chokeslam, sending a message to the entire SmackDown locker room.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Chad Gable vs Viktor

The two more technical members of their team met in this intriguing bout, with both of their partner standing by at rignside. Jason Jordan didn't get involved at all, but Konnor was constantly involved, getting in the ref's face and helping his partner out. Gable showed off his impressive skillset, and may have been closing in on a win when Konnor got involved. He slid a steel chair into the ring, distracting Gable, and Viktor took full advantage, smashing Gable off the chair with a Tiger Bomb to get the win. The challengers continue to pick up momentum, and could be considered the favorites heading into this Sunday's clash.

Winner: Viktor

Apollo Crews(c) vs Baron Corbin- Intercontinental Title Match

Apollo dominated the match at Survivor Series, but there was a much more evenly contested match. Corbin gained control very quickly, using his power to get two near falls off of a Deep Six and an End of Days. Crews, realizing his gold was in danger, rallied with speed and athleticism, out pacing Corbin and connecting on a gorilla press-standing moonsault combination. Surprisngly, though, Corbin showed his resilience, kicking out of the move that put him away at Survivor Series. Crews, rattled, took the fight to the outside, into Corbin's element. The Lone Wolf used the environment to his advantage, weakening Crews before taking the fight back inside the ring. Corbin, sensing the end was near, connected for a second time with the End of Days, and there was no miracles for Apollo this time. Baron Corbin became the first two-time IC Champion, and will get an opportunity for revenge when he faces The Miz at Armageddon.

Winner and the NEW Intercontinental Champion: Baron Corbin

Randy Orton vs Cesaro

We saw these two men get into a ferocious brawl last week, and that continued tonight, as they got going before the bell could even ring. They brawled around the ring, exchanged strikes while the official looked on helplessly. It became pretty clear that there was not going to be a match on this night, as the official desperately tried to get anyone to break up the brawl. SmackDown went off the air as Orton and Cesaro took the fight into the crowd.

Thank you for tuning in to this edition of SmackDown. Stay tuned for Main Event, which of course features the Cruiserweight Classic, which will go live tomorrow.

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
