In which Twitter spends more time talking about AJ Styles' ass than the world title match happening in the ring.
This is why we can't have nice things, people. There was more attention paid to a hole in AJ's pants there was for what was an excellent main event. Though, admittedly, I would probably rather pay attention to AJ's ass than invest in James Ellsworth. Jobbers really have come a long way.
Enough of my rambling. This was a heel-dominated show, but didn't feel less important because of that. And I have to admit, Bray's win and capture of his first gold got a face pop from me. Orton has added so much legitimacy to the group, and I'm excited to see where they go from here. We went from a high to a definite low, as Nikki Bella and Carmella engaged in the worst no disqualification match I've ever seen. Seriously, it was eight minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Luckily, I did spend watching the next half hour or so watching an excellent ladder match, as The Miz and Dolph Ziggler put on a show. These two have revitalized the IC title, and it's a shame their feud will have to come to an end, but what a way to go out. I was also ecstatic to see Baron Corbin continue his roll, as the Lone Wolf has a lot of potential. There's a lot of very interesting possibilities for Corbin, and he and Kalisto had a very fun Chairs match, which is not something I saw myself writing.
In what was not a fun stipulation match, Alexa Bliss followed Bray Wyatt in capturing her first WWE gold. A true homegrown talent, Alexa's win is proof that WWE can still build new stars. Tables matches can be very hit or miss, and unfortunately this one was a miss. You can't win 'em all, and I think these two can put on a lot better work. We move on to the main event, as AJ and Dean proved that TLC matches can still be very fun. There were a lot of very innovative spots, and AJ tried to kill himself, so it was a true 2016 WWE main event. I have no real interest in James Ellsworth, and his intervention ruined a great match that deserved a clean finish.
7/10
It's a B-level pay-per-view, so obviously expectations are diminished. I enjoyed myself whilst watching, and I probably will re-watch the pay-per-view, and that's ultimately my main scoring guide.
