Henry's Universe Mode(Season 4) Episode 13: Mae Young Classic

As I mentioned yesterday in the Takeover: Chicago Preview, this tournament has taken place over the past month. However, since I don't do weekly shows, I've condescend all seven matches into one post. So here we go, eight new NXT signings, all fighting it out for a chance to challenge for the NXT Women's Championship in Chicago. Let the Mae Young Classic begin!

Bianca Belair vs Deonna Purrazzo- First Round Match

Up first, two women who may represent NXT's future faced off as Bianca Belair took on Deonna Purrazzo. Belair's power got her through the first round, as she avoided the deadly submissions of Purrazzo and put it away with the KOD.

Winner: Bianca Belair

Mandy Rose vs Toni Storm- First Round Match

Two different wrestling philosophies clashed in this match, as the Golden Goddess Mandy Rose faced Toni Storm. Storm taught her arrogant counterpart a lesson in respect, advancing easily after a Storm Zero.

Winner: Toni Storm

Aliyah vs Rhea Ripley- First Round Match

Aliyah was a huge underdog as she faced the savage Rhea Ripley. Unfortunately for Aliyah, there would be no upsets here, as Ripley's pure power was unstoppable, tapping out her opponent with an abdominal stretch.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

Mia Yim vs Sonya Deville- First Round Match

Our final first round match was between the versatile Mia Yim and former MMA fighter Sonya Deville. It looked like Yim was destined to advance, as she pulled out an incredible top rope Spanish Fly. But Deville just managed to stay in it, and connected with an impactful roundhouse kick off the jaw to get the win.

Winner: Sonya Deville

Bianca Belair vs Toni Storm- Semi-Finals Match

Toni Storm looked to follow up her dominant first win, but ran into a stiff test in the form of Bianca Belair. Belair laid it all on the line, even connecting on a 450 splash, but that incredible risk cost her, as she had no energy left. Storm did have something left in the tank, and powered through to hit Storm Zero and advance to the finals.

Winner: Toni Storm

Rhea Ripley vs Sonya Deville- Semi-Finals Match

In the second semi-finals match, Rhea Ripley met Sonya Deville in the hardest hitting contest of the tournament so far. Ultimately, Deville's strikes and ground game weren't enough to slow the powerhouse down, as Ripley got another win, this time with the pumphandle powerbomb.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley vs Toni Storm- Mae Young Classic Finals

The strength and intensity of Rhea Ripley met the explosive offense of Toni Storm to determine the winner of the Mae Young Classic. Storm took every opportunity she could, keeping up a lightning quick attack. But Ripley had done some scouting, as she caught Storm on the top rope, delivering an incredible powerbomb off the top! But the sheer willpower of Storm kept her going, as she managed to connect on a Tiger Driver for a near fall. In the closing moments, Ripley went for the pumphandle powerbomb, but Storm countered, hitting one final Storm Zero for the three count. Toni Storm wins the Mae Young Classic, and will now challenge for the NXT Women's Championship.

Winner: Toni Storm

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
