The opportunity of a lifetime hangs high above the ring, but a grueling war awaits. Welcome to Part 1 of Money in the Bank, featuring three championship matches and the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Future stars, bruising powerhouses, upset contenders and wily veterans compete to become Mr. Money in the Bank, with a near guaranteed world championship reign in one of their futures.
And now, Raw and SmackDown present.................Money in the Bank!
Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were laser focused in this match, having put their contracts on the line. The risk paid off, as after the first Shatter Machine on Kofi Kingston was broken up, they managed to hit a second on Big E to get the three count. For the first time in Universe Mode, The Revival are tag team champions.
Winners and the NEW Raw Tag Team Champions: The Revival
Asuka(c) vs Sasha Banks- SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Sasha Banks wrestled a smart game to start this match, keeping a slow, methodical pace. This allowed her to dictate the tempo, later taking some big chances, including an incredible cross body press to the floor. But despite not being at her best, Asuka seized her one opening, countering an attempted Bank Statement with a nasty roundhouse kick. That kick dazed Banks just long enough to fall prey to the Asuka Lock, and the challenger was forced to tap.
Winner and still SmackDown Women's Champion: Asuka
Johnny Gargano(c) vs Jason Jordan- United States Championship Match
Johnny Wrestling went through a war with former partner Tommaso Ciampa at Extreme Rules, and perhaps wasn't ready for the pure dominance of Jason Jordan. This was a completely one-sided affair, and after Gargano survived for as long as he could, he fell to the Jordan Slam.
Winner and the NEW United States Champion: Jason Jordan
Baron Corbin vs Lio Rush vs Matt Hardy vs Pete Dunne vs Ricochet vs Sami Zayn vs Samoa Joe vs Seth Rollins- Money in the Bank Ladder Match
(Henry's Note: It is really, really hard to properly summarize a Money in the Bank match. There are simply too many spots, and too little story, so this write-up would go very long and I don't think that's a good thing. With that said, I'm going to skip right to the finish of the match, apologies if you wanted more but I think this is the right decision)
After fellow high fliers Lio Rush and Ricochet took each other out with big moves, former Universal Champion Samoa Joe saw his moment. Joe scrambled up the ladder, but Seth Rollins was a step ahead. With his last bit of strength, he pulled Joe off the ladder, and delivered a big powerbomb! Rollins scaled, rung by rung, fighting off Matt Hardy and with the Atlanta crowd cheering him on, unhooked the briefcase! Seth Rollins, representing the Shield, is Mr. Money in the Bank!
Winner: Seth Rollins
