Henry's Universe Mode #22: Main Event

On this episode of Main Event, it is an old school collision, as The APA take on Smackdown's newest team, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. Fresh off maiming his own brother in a shocking betrayal, Raw's Kane is in action. In the main event, it's a battle of guys though to be "B+" players, as Mick Foley takes on Daniel Bryan.

The APA vs Ric Flair and Arn Anderson

Both teams were eager for their first win, and traded offense. Off a big DDT, Arn appeared to have the match won, but Farooq kicked out. The APA then came close to winning it, hitting a Clothesline/Dominator combo, but Arn just broke it up. Flair tagged in Arn, who came very close on a Double A Spinebuster. The match devolved into a brawl, but it was Arn who ended up in control, hitting his DDT on Farooq for the victory.

Winners: Ric Flair and Arn Anderson

Kane vs X-Pac

Our next match saw a rivalry rekindled, as Kane took on X-Pac. The Big Red Machine was ready for a fight, and to his credit, X-Pac gave him one. X-Pac even managed to take the monster off his feet several times, landing a very impressive Sunset Flip Powerbomb to the outside. In the end, it wasn't enough, as Kane landed a big leg drop off the top rope and put him down with a Chokeslam.

Winner: Kane

Mick Foley(Mankind) vs Daniel Bryan

These two fan favorites were ready to go to battle, with Bryan looking to rebound from his loss to Randy Orton on Smackdown and Foley makes his Universe Mode debut. The chosen face of Foley for this match was Mankind, as he felt that was best suited for this particular match-up. Both men traded offense, landing signature maneuvers, but a turning point came when Mankind went for a double arm DDT, only to see Bryan reverse, connecting with a running knee, which nearly ended the match. Mankind came close a few times, but couldn't put Bryan away. Bryan fought back, getting to the top rope and landing a diving headbut. Bryan knew the end was near, and locked in the Yes! Lock in the center of the ring, leaving Mankind with no other option than to tap out. After the match, the two shook hands, in appreciation of a tightly contested battle.

That ends this episode of Main Event. Stay tuned for the next episode, which is Monday Night Raw.

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

The Route of Life

dedicated to my hermits, who changed my life Ch 1 My Hermit crabs Hermit crabs are sometimes hard to take care of. Especially when you never had a hermit. Last Sunday afternoon I got 2 Hermit crabs. Their names are Crabbe and Goyle. I have talked with many sales people. The first Petco we went to (where we got the hermits and their things) seemed to have no idea on the subject. So we ended up going to Dolphin Pet Village. They were more experience at the subject. Now we have some of the things we will need. Last week, I went to a second Petco. There we got a cuttlebone, which is the bone of a fish. Now they look happy. Have a good day Hermit Crabs! Ch 2 Curious Crab The week before last week, my mom looked into my crabitat and found that one of my crabs had climbed one of my fake trees. It was on the top branch. Later, when I was changing to get ready for bed, the crab fell out of his branch. I hope he is okay. He’s definitely starting to look okay. How funny do you think that story is...
