Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman vs ???
Brock Lesnar, with his associate Paul Heyman, made their way down to the ring for their open challenge, and who should emerge; the Icon, Sting! The Stinger was not about to be yet another victim of the Beast, and fought with everything he had, matching Brock blow for blow. He even managed to take Brock down with a Scorpion Death Drop, but Heyman distracted the referee from making the count. This only served to annoy Brock, who got up to his feet and planted Sting with an F-5, believing the job was done, only to see Sting somehow kick out. Lesnar continue to get more and more annoyed, letting himself get caught into another Scorpion Death Drop, but Lesnar proved how unbeatable he is, kicking out just before the three count. Heyman distracted Sting on the outside, allowing Brock to get back to his feet and connect on another F-5, but again Sting kicked out. Sting was out of it, though, and it was only a matter of time before Lesnar connected with a third F-5, and that was finally enough to put the Icon down.
Winner: Brock Lesnar
D-Generation X vs The Usos
D-X had yet to win a match in Henry's Universe Mode, and were desperately looking for some much needed momentum against the Usos. The match was chaotic, with the ref clearly not able to contain all 4 men. The Usos appeared to be in control, but Triple H shocked everyone by connecting with a Pedigree, but was unable to capitalize with a pinfall. Michaels appeared to have the match won off a Sweet Chin Music, but Jimmy Uso found the bottom rope. It the end, it was D-X's veteran experience that was the difference, as Triple H connected on another Pedigree and Michaels cheap shot Jey Uso to distract him for the pinfall. D-X finally scored a win, but it took quite the effort.
Winners: D-Generation X
Kelly Kelly vs Lita
Many experts believed that Kelly Kelly winning the number one contendership to the Women's Title was a fluke, and tonight was Kelly's opportunity to prove her critics wrong. The two women were obviously fan favorites, and for that reason, there was no real rule breaking and a lot of exciting moves. Kelly dominated most of the match, with Lita again and again being forced to kick out of pinfalls. When Lita did get offense in, though, it was very explosive and very deadly, nearly ending the match with her high flying ability. Lita couldn't land the deciding blow, however, and when Kelly countered the Twist of Fate and hit her Rocker Dropper, that was enough for the number one contender to score a big victory over the former number one contender.
Winner: Kelly Kelly
John Cena(c) vs Chris Jericho- Intercontinental Title Match
The Intercontinental Title was on the line as John Cena defended against Chris Jericho. After Jericho lost at Extreme Rules to Bray Wyatt, he was determined to make good on his second Title opportunity. Y2J clearly had a gameplan heading into this match, as he focused a large majority of his offense on the surgically repaired neck of Cena. The champ absorbed a ton of offense, but Jericho couldn't capitalize on his advantage, while Cena capitalized on his chance. He hit a Five Knuckle Shuffle, and followed up with an AA, but Jericho was relatively fresh, and managed to kick out. Cena went up top, looking for something big, but instead leaped right into a Codebreaker, but that wasn't enough either. They brawled for a few minutes, and Cena got the best of the exchange, knocking down the challenger and connecting with a second Five Knuckle Shuffle, busting Jericho open. Jericho stumbled to his feet, clearly out of it, and Cena hit a second AA to retain his title. After the match, paramedics had to help both men to the back, with Cena's neck in a bad way, and Jericho's face plastered in blood.
Winner and still Intercontinental Champion: John Cena
Harper and Rowan(c)w/Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns-World Tag Team Title Match
The champs were accompanied by World Heavyweight Champ Bray Wyatt as they defended their titles against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, who were victorious last week against D-X. It took very little for the match to devolve into chaos, with all four men brawling on the outside, as Bray looked on. Bray did make an impact, throwing a chair into the ring and distracting the ref, allowing Rowan to get a few cheap shots in on Rollins. Harper connected on a Discus Clothesline on Reigns, but Rollins was there and broke up the pinfall. The challengers began to gain momentum, and when Rowan tried to interfere, Rollins took him out with a Pedigree, and Reigns hit a Spear on Harper, only for Wyatt to distract the ref. The match continued to be a war, with no one able to strike the fatal blow. Harper and Rowan connected on their tag finisher, but Roman kicked out. Finally, the end came when Roman connected on the Spear, and Seth took out both Harper and Wyatt on a suicide dive while the ref counted to 3 in the ring. Rollins and Reigns were crowned the new tag team champions, after one hell of an effort.
Winners and the NEW World Tag Team Champions: Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
A long night of Raw finished with the crowning of new tag team champions. Can Rollins and Reigns work together? We're soon to find out, here on Raw. Until then, take care and I'll see you on NXT.
